Third Person's Point of View

Asher and Liliana’s grandfather were outside, walking slowly as they talked. Their conversation was serious, but Asher’s eyes wandered toward the dogs roaming freely in the open yard. They were all beautiful, strong breeds—mostly large ones, but a few small ones, too. There were other animals around as well, calmly moving about the area.

“So these are the pets Liliana told me about. I didn’t see them earlier,” Asher commented.

Liliana’s grandfather paused and looked at him curiously.

“So… you’ve been here before? When did my granddaughter bring you over?”

Asher turned toward him.

“Just the other day. She cooked for me here.”

The old man rubbed his forehead, looking a little defeated.

“Well, I can’t do anything about that now.”

Asher chuckled, but his attention shifted again—this time to a large golden Labrador lying on the ground. He noticed a dark stain beneath it. Blood.

“I think… she gave birth,” he said softly.

The grandfather followed his gaze, eyes w

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe finally arrived at the mansion, but I couldn’t help noticing how Brother Enzo kept his eyes on me the entire time.“Why are you staring, Brother?” I asked, half-laughing.He smiled and slowly shook his head.“You’re uncomfortable? I’m sorry, Sister.”I smiled back at him and glanced at my husband, who was fixated on his tablet again.“Aren’t your eyes hurting from staring at that thing?” I teased.“Not really,” he replied casually, but I noticed how he kept rubbing his forehead.I reached out and gently took the tablet from his hands, turning it off.“You can continue that later when we get to your room.”“Wife...” he murmured in protest.“What?”“Fine,” he said with a defeated sigh and leaned his head on my shoulder, fiddling with my fingers.Brother Enzo chuckled softly.“You’ve really changed him for the better, Sister.”I turned to look at him, finding his warm gaze already on me.“Shut up, Enzo,” Asher muttered.“You two seem close,” I said curiously.“

Liliana’s Point of ViewI was still staring at the handkerchief when Asher’s hand gently landed over mine, wrapping both around the soft fabric. I looked up at him, surprised.“Wife, are you okay?” he asked softly. He took the handkerchief from my hand and tucked it into his pocket, his expression unreadable. There was something about that piece of cloth that made me feel… off, like I had briefly lost myself.“Uh, yeah… I’m okay. I just felt… a little sad all of a sudden. Did you buy that handkerchief? It’s cute,” I asked, trying to smile.“Someone gave it to me. It’s very special to me,” he replied, his eyes holding something deeper.I was surprised by his answer, but instead of feeling jealous or uneasy, my heart felt... oddly warm. What was happening to me?He gently held my hand, drawing my attention back to him.“Just look at my eyes,” he said. “Don’t think of anything else. Just me, okay?”I gazed into his eyes, and even if I tried to look away, I couldn't. His eyes were so mesm

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe’re inside the car now, and I found myself gazing out the window. We’re heading to the airport, but there’s this strange feeling growing inside me—as if this isn’t the first time I’ve been on a plane. But the weird part is… I’ve never been on an airplane in my entire life.I glanced down at my passport, and confusion hit me harder than expected. It wasn’t a Philippine passport—it was Italian. That’s… strange.“Hubby, why is my passport like this? Why isn’t it from the Philippines?”He turned his head to look at me.“Same as mine. Let’s just say that since we’re married now, we share the same nationality. This way, you can travel anywhere without hassle.”My brows furrowed.“What do you mean?”“Well, with an Italian passport, you can visit 194 countries visa-free. But if it’s a Philippine passport, you’re limited to 67 countries.”My jaw dropped a little as I stared at him. I didn’t know that was how it worked.“Wow, I didn’t know that at all.”He smiled softl

Flashback...Liliana walked excitedly, gift in hand, towards the reception of the villa in Italy where she grew up. She was attending Asher's birthday party, and her heart raced with anticipation."Brother, do you think Asher will be happy with the gift I got him for his birthday today? I'm nervous because I’m worried he might not like it."Enzo furrowed his brow at her words."If he even tries not to accept your gift, I'll make him eat it. He'll probably like it because you personally made it for him."A smile tugged at Liliana's lips as she gazed at the gift she held. She noticed the line of children, mostly girls her age, presenting their gifts to Asher. After receiving each one, Asher handed them off to his butler without a second glance.Liliana bit her lip, her gaze shifting to the gift in her hands."He might not like the gift, just like how he treats their gifts as if they're something to be thrown away."Enzo turned to her, concern in his eyes."Baby sister, do you want to gi

Liliana’s Point of View*I stared at Asher in confusion, trying to make sense of his behavior. I needed to be more patient right now. With a deep sigh, I reached out and gently cupped his cheek. There was sadness in his expression—one I rarely saw.“Come here,” I whispered softly.Without hesitation, he stepped closer and pulled me into his arms.“Okay, okay,” I murmured against his chest. “I won’t look up that stranger again. I don’t even know him, so I’m not interested.”He didn’t say anything. He just held me tighter, and I could feel how protective—no, how afraid—he was. What was it about this man that made Asher react like this? Was he dangerous? A mafia member, perhaps?“Hubby…” I called softly, tilting my head up to look at him.“I brought my things with me. Are we going home now, or do you still have work to do?”“Nothing left to do,” he replied.I gave him a small smile and nodded. Then I looked at my phone and felt a pang in my chest—it was cracked. Broken, actually.“I’ll b

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe were working as usual when I noticed that Mirabelle seemed a little off. She wasn’t her usual self—irritable, moody—like she might be on her period or something. She looked like she could snap at any moment.“Jack,” I whispered. He immediately turned to me, glad he heard me the first time.“What’s up?”“I think the antagonist's in a bad mood today.”He glanced around, eyes scanning the room until they landed on Mirabelle. His expression shifted.“Damn,” he muttered under his breath. We were all taken aback when our department's very own muse suddenly cursed out loud. We froze, staring at her in disbelief. Even she seemed shocked by her own outburst and glanced around at us apologetically.“Ah, sorry,” she mumbled. We nodded slowly, pretending not to hear it, and returned our attention to our work. Jack and I exchanged a quick glance.“Even an antagonist has emotions too,” I said with a small smirk.Jack gestured subtly with his lips, motioning ahead of us, a
