Chapter 04

Katherine's POV

The next day, I woke up in my bed and was confused about how I got here.

“Was that a dream? But it felt so real.” I spoke to myself and realized Leo is not here in his usual sleeping place.

“Leoo! Leo!” I shouted trying to find where he was but didn't get any response. So I got out of bed and realized I am in my night dress and realized everything was indeed a dream. I signed sadly and went to see Leo.

I opened the door and saw a man sleeping hugging Leo on the sofa. Leo doesn't like strangers hugging him and on top of that how did this man get inside my house!

“Who are you?” I started beating him with a broomstick and he woke up startling and I realized it's Benjamin.

“Was this a gift for saving you last night?” he asked me while I smiled in embarrassment.

“Sorry I thought it was a dream seeing myself in my night dress. Thanks for saving me and changing me into this dress..” and that's when I realized he changed my clothes.

I got so angry and thought he took advantage of my sleep.

“How dare you change my clothes when I am asleep.” I shouted at him while Leo woke up with a shock and looked at both of us.

We looked at Leo and again at each other while Ben tried to explain himself but I was too angry to listen and threw him out.

After some time I decided to cook something and scolded Leo for sleeping with Ben.

“How can you also do this? You were hugging him and sleeping. You traitor! You are supposed to save me if a stranger enters our house.” I scolded Leo who looked at me innocently.

As I was about to eat my food I heard a doorbell sound from the main door.

“Yes, what do you want?” I asked as I was surprised to see 2 police officers standing at my doorstep.

“Last night some people tried to rob and molest you. Your boyfriend Mr Augustus only saved you and took those criminals to our office. We are here to take you to the station for some formalities. Where is Mr Augustus?” the officer asked while I stood in shock not knowing what to say.

I asked them to leave and said I will come there with Benjamin in a few minutes.

After they left I went to the garbage area and saw my torn clothes and realized what exactly happened.

“I should apologize to him. He saved me from such a big thing and I was too harsh on him.” I got ready and went to his house and the security allowed me inside as soon as I told him my name which was surprising.

I saw Benjamin getting his wounds dressed by a girl's help in the garden area and I didn't like it but went near them and stopped midway realizing they were talking about me.

“I saved her but she threw me out. What a grateful attitude!?” Benjamin said to that person who laughed at his words. I wondered who she was.

“You changed her clothes without her permission, what will she do?” She said but Ben is too stubborn to agree to it.

“I didn't do anything to her. I am her ma... ” Benjamin tried to explain something to that person when he noticed me.

“Katherine, you're here?” Ben asked me while I apologized to him for misunderstanding him and said we need to go to the police station to complete some formalities.

“My Secretary and best friend, Sofie, will take care of it.” Benjamin said, pointing at the girl and I smiled at her..

After sometime Sofie went from there while I saw her going and felt like she had something for Benjamin.

“I think she likes you.” I said while Benjamin laughed at me.

“You are jealous.” Benjamin said while I rolled my eyes.

“Jealous? For the guy I just met 2 days back?” I laughed at him while he still smiled at me in confidence that he was right.

“No I am not and it's okay if you don't agree. I just came to apologize.” I said and was about to leave when Ben pulled me towards him.

“I want to correct my mistakes. I want to take you for a proper date.” he said looking into my eyes while I felt myself blushing at our closeness.

“After you get well.” I said and went from there kissing his cheeks who smiled at me

I reached home to find my parents much to my frustration as I realized why they are here.

“What the hell is happening? You were about to be r@ped yesterday and you are happily roaming? Just come with us and settle in your life by marrying a nice guy” my father said while I was irritated.

“Some nice guy or someone who controls me?” I asked them back but didn't reveal about Benjamin as they will not allow it and will irritate me more.

“No one will control you. We gave you so much freedom and still you are not obeying us.” my mother said while I laughed sarcastically at her.

“Yeah you gave me freedom but now please get out.” I said and after they went I felt my tears making its way down my cheeks and realized I am still weak and crying over them.

“They will never love you.” I said to myself and tried to sleep for sometime to forget their visit or how I threw them out.

“I don't like you.” I tried to make him understand while he forcefully tried to marry me. While my parents are trying to convince me to accept my life.

“Tonight we will enjoy ourselves happily.” he whispered to me while my parents are happy that I got married even though it's forced.

“No!!” I woke up sweating and realized it's again a dream.

“Please God. Please make me forget everything. I love my parents. They are good but I don't understand when and how they changed like this.” I prayed to God and tried to sleep again when I realized yesterday when I was with Ben I fell asleep naturally and didn't have any nightmares either.

I reread our old messages and tried to sleep while thinking about him in my mind.

“I made it! I slept without any nightmares. Thanks Ben.” I shouted in my house happily and kissed Leo who was also happy to see me happy.

“I think I started liking him." she said to myself and decided to see some news when I saw Benjamin getting arrested for trying to molest his office staff. I dropped the TV remote and stared at it in shock.
