Chapter 5: My crush

Stanley's POV:

What was she doing? I thought we had an agreement. Or is it because of her book? I already apologized for that.

My inheritance depended on this marriage, so why was she going against her words of minding her affairs? Mom gave me a confused look and I chuckled to avoid suspicions.

'Yes ma'am, the third party is lovable' Kimberly added with a teasing smile, I am going to pull her ears so hard when we are out of here.

'Who is this third party?' Kyle asked with a suspicious look 'Oh yesterday, an old classmate of mine joined us for breakfast…hum he wanted to greet my new wife'

After explaining, I stared at Kimberly and gave her a pleading look 'Is that so?' Dad asked and she nodded. Finally, I could sigh in relief.

'Let's have breakfast first' Mom said and we all walked to the dining table, Kimberly stood beside me and I couldn't help but step on her 'Ouch' she winced out in pain gaining everyone's attention.

'What happened?' Kyle asked worriedly and she smiled at her. 'Nothing, I just had a slight cramp'

From Kimberly's POV:

After breakfast, I received a message from Layla reminding me about the basketball game today. I forgot about it, maybe it's because I am now a married woman.

'Can you drop me at my school please' I whispered to Stanley who pretended not to get me. Was he upset now?

Later, we both left the mansion and he drove in silence 'My school is this way' I thought he had forgotten about my request, but I was wrong as he stopped the car.

'Get out," he scolded and I was shocked, why will he drop me off in the middle of the road?

'I need you to drop me at school' kept insisting, why did I have to leave my car at my parent's place?

'Hurry and get out' his tone became more hoarse, I got scared and walked down. Then he drove away without uttering a word, what a jerk.

Stanley Williams is a big jerk, he dares treat me this way? I was so angry and decided to be calm as I was heading to school now. Paid for a cab that took me straight to school.

Moments later, I got out of the car and walked towards the gate where I spotted Layla.

'Kim over here' she waved, I walked towards her and she kept glancing behind my path.

'Why did you take a cab? Did your husband not drop you?' I scoffed and decided not to talk about that jerk.

'Has the game started?' I asked and she nodded, we both walked to the basketball field and occupied two vacant seats.

The game was so fun and the girls kept drooling on the players, all of a sudden I saw a jersey flying toward me. Subconsciously, I caught it and stared at Jakes who waved at me.

'Oh my God' Layla was even more shocked, some girls stared at me with envy. If this happened before I discovered I was married, then my cheeks would have turned red from shyness but now I am married and will not be like Stanley and Jennet.

'You are married, so give that to me' Layla laughed as she seized the jersey from me 'I am never washing this' she kept giggling and I rolled my eyes.

Soon the game was over and Jake's team won, as usual, Layla and I walked out of school toward the park when I heard someone calling me out.

I turned and saw Jakes running towards me. 'Kimberly' he called and stopped in front of us.

'How are you girls preparing for the bonfire night?' he asked, and again I forgot about the student's night. It's an event hosted by the school, all students spend the night in the school hangout area with a huge fire.

'I don't know' I am not in the mood for any school activities, especially the bonfire night which is meant for singles. Each student goes in pairs and I can't be seen attending such events.

'Well, why don't you accompany me? I won't make you regret'

Was Jakes asking me to be his plus one, at this moment I forgot about anything else including Williams.

'Sure, of course…I will love to' I had to act cool, but I was actually in a nervous state. The bonfire is tomorrow night and I need to buy cool pajamas.

'Cool, I will pick you up, don't mind. I know your place' he winked and ran back in. Just yesterday I lied about him being my boyfriend and today he is acting so kind to me. As he fancied me, I must admit that the tongue has a lot of power.

'Kimberly this is bad,' Layla said, causing me to regain my senses. I frowned at her and then sneered.

'Why is it bad? Just because I am married, I don't care. Do you know Stanley doesn't fancy me, he is still in a relationship with his sweetheart. And I am not allowed to go on a school bonfire with Jakes? No' I said angrily, since he doesn't treat me as his wife then I won't treat him as my husband. I don't care if he treats me right or not.

'What are you talking about? Jakes just said he will pick you up at your place. You live with your husband now'

That's it, I am screwed.

After having a brave discussion with Layla, I decided to return home. I walked in and spotted someone on the couch.

He looked as noble as Stanley and his aura was not as strong as that of that jerk.

He stood when he saw me walk in, why was he here and alone 'You must be Mrs. Williams' he asked with a friendly smile.

'She is Kimberly Parker' a voice echoed from upstairs, we both stared and Stanley walked down towards us.

'Well dude, I call her according to what the papers say' he laughed out, then I realized he was talking about the marriage agreement.

'Kimberly' I said with a smile and he nodded before extending his hands to me.

'Frank, but you can call me brother-in-law'

I accepted the handshake and wondered if he doesn't know about Jennet, since he is friends with Stanley then he must know. So why ask me to call him that?

'Don't call him that, after I receive my inheritance we will get a divorce' Stanley blurted.

I was shocked and confused, he has plans of getting a divorce after he gets his inheritance. Now I understand why he suddenly agreed to the marriage, he was threatened by his family.

So disgusting, a guy who relies on family wealth and even decided to give up his beloved woman for some time all because of money.

'So when are you getting this inheritance of yours? I also don't want to be stuck with you…it better be soon' I sneered then walked towards my room.

As Kimberly left the view, Frank couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

'Are you thinking of marrying Jennet?' he asked and Stanley nodded, that was his plan all along.

'Dude, what's wrong with you? Jennet has cuckolded you so many times'

'Stop please, have you ever seen her with another man?' Stanley asked angrily and Frank shook his head helplessly. Even though he has never met Jennet with another man, he had heard a lot from the internet and just yesterday in the club, she was flirting with a guy. Stanley couldn't bear it and got drunk, now he still plans on marrying her.

'You said your family forced you to marry an ugly college student, I don't see any ugly wife here'

'Then you must be blind' he sneered and kept trying to call Jennet but it wasn't going through.

Kimberly stayed in her room for a long time studying, when she went back to the living room it was already 6 pm, and if not for her being hungry then she wouldn't have come out.

She didn't expect Frank would still be here, he stayed here all afternoon.

'Sister-in-law, you finally came' he said in an amused tone.

My eyes stared around but I couldn't spot Stanley, was Frank waiting for me?

'Where is Stanley?' I asked out of curiosity. He still maintained the same smile he had since we met.

'He went out, but he will be back soon'

I sneered, he doesn't work and the only place I think he could go was to find Jennet.

'Do you want some coffee? I will make some' I suggested and he nodded, so I walked to the kitchen a few minutes later. I walked out holding a tray that contained two glasses of green coffee and sugar.

'Thanks' he took a coffee before taking a sip. 'Stanley doesn't take green coffee; he prefers black' he added.

'Well, I don't care' I rolled my eyes, it was not as if I was going to make him coffee one day.

'What are you doing tomorrow night? Join us'

I kindly rejected it. Tomorrow I have a bonfire night. And I was going with James.

'I can't come, next time. I hope'

'Is it because of Jennet? Then I tell you….'

'No, it's not because of her' I butted in with a loud one, why will I do anything because of her.

"Actually, I don't care about them, after Stanley gets his inheritance then I will be free." I made it clear to him, so I made a decision not to let anyone know I am married. So that the day Stanley decides to divorce me, it won't be a big deal.

'Then I will take my leave' he had a disappointed look but still maintained his warm smile, if Stanley was like him then we could have gotten along.

I walked him to the door as he got into his car and drove away. Why did he want to talk to me?

I made some noodles again and ate dinner alone. The place was so huge that it kind of made me feel lonely. I miss my parents but I still won't talk with them.

I missed my appetite already, so I washed my plate and turned to walk back to my room. Just when I thought the day was over, I heard the sound of heels and turned towards the door, only to spot Jennet in a designer quill jacket and slim pants.

'Hello Kimberly' she displayed her white teeth with a cute smile, I won't blame Stanley for loving her. She is adorable.

'Stanley is not here'

'I am not here for him, I came to ask you for a request,' she said, still maintaining her smile.

What does she want?
