We were at the office, and saying such things meant we would have to be in a private place.

"Ruth, we can talk about it some other time. I've really just been stressed out with the group project and all. I might have to pull an all-nighter," I said.  

Ruth got the gist of it, seeing I wasn't in the mood. 

She turned to face her computer as she spoke.

"You know keeping your worries bottled up may just lead to making all sorts of mistakes, especially if it's about your marriage," she said just as her phone beeped, indicating a message.
