Chapter Seven

Luca's POV.

Five fucking years! I still couldn't get over her. I had to move away from here thinking I would have gotten over my obsession with her, but it was not possible.

I had to pretend all my life that I hated her. I waited for this moment and all I needed was for her to love me back.

I had to make her deal that could put my entire hard work in a big problem just because I didn't want to see her with Miguel anymore, hoping I was going to have a chance with her.

I wasn't sure about having sex with her yet, but I just wanted to know if I could get a chance with her. I didn't want to rush her, since I wanted to take things very slow.

The memories from.thag morning kept on flashing in my head. I had always fantasized about moment like that in the past and it almost happened, but I wanted things to be okay between the both of us first

I think things were going in my favor when I got to discover that she was planning to divorce Miguel. I knew that this was going to happen, knowing fully well that he didn't have any feelings for her at the start.

He just wanted to use her. I wanted to let her know about it, but it seemed like she was really happy whenever she was with him, and there was no way she would belong words from the guy who she always banter.

"What did you want to see her for?" Maddie, who was sitting opposite me, questioned with a smile on her face. I could tell that she was not happy to see me in her house.

Priscilla had almost changed her sitting position just a few minutes after I was in their house. It was a shame she slept with her sister's husband. She was the real definition of a hoe!

"I guess she didn't tell you." I replied to Maddie, who had a confused expression on her face.

"Tell me what? Was there something she was supposed to tell me? You two can't possibly be dating." She answered back while I let out a soft chuckle.

I honestly thought Ria was in some kind of trouble after she told me she was entering her stepmother's room. I tried calling her number, but she wasn't picking up anymore.

"What made you think that way?" I questioned, with a serious expression on her face. What made them think the two of us couldn't be together?

The countenance in the room changed entirely. It looked as if one collected their money.

"Oh please! What made you think that way? Apparently, she is now my personal assistant." I uttered, and I could see the change of expression on their face.

"Are you serious right now? Why do you have to pick her of all people? She is your brother's ex-wife! Don't you think that is insulting to your brother?" Priscilla sprang up to her feet. Why was she so worked up about the news?

I tilted my head to one side, with squinted eyes.

"He isn't my blood brother." I clarified things with her.

"The fact you slept with your..." I couldn't get to complete my sentence before I heard a voice right behind me.

"Who is asking for me?" She sounded so angelic, and I wanted to hear her screaming my name badly with that voice.

Priscilla answered her. Who was she expecting before? I could feel her leaving my back, and we got to maintain eye contact immediately when she came to my front.

She was putting on a casual outfit that was entirely different from the gown she left with this morning. Her hair was tied in a messy bun with glasses on.

How did she manage to get dressed that fast?

"Mr. Luca," her eyes were still in shock, and it looked as if I had a lot of explanations to do.

"We have to go now. Thank you very much." I mentioned to her mom before I stood up. My eyes indicating for her to go outside.

"I will see you later, Maddie." She walked right behind me as we then stepped out of the house.

"What do you think you are doing here? Why do you have to put me in a tough situation like this? What did you tell my mom and my sister?" Ria questioned me, but I didn't plan on replying to her. She almost destroyed all our plans.

"Why aren't you saying anything? I'm asking you a question!" She stepped in front of me, refusing to let me enter my car.

Her soft, plump lips caught my attention. I inhaled my breath sharply while I tried so hard not to look at her.

"Don't you ever get that close with me again." I warned her as she quickly left my front.

"I did it because you aren't answering my God damn question! I don't know the kind of trouble you already put me through." She stated, but I just ignored her and entered into the car.

"Get into the car and let's go." I instructed.

"Where are you going to? You can't just come here and tell me you are going somewhere without me having an idea of where you are going to." She fired back at me.

"It seems like you don't longer need this job.".I threatened her. I didn't mean to do that, but that was my only resort.

"What the fuck! I can't believe I am being threatened right now." She cussed out so loud as she then entered into the car, sitting in the passenger's seat.

"You have to believe it."

"You are finally showing your true colors. I knew something was wrong when you were helping me. My hatred for you still remain the same though." She replied me, her hand on her waist.

If only she knew how hard it was for me to hide my feelings. If only she knew how hard it was for me to act this way towards her.

"You are also showing your true colors. I just decided to help you since my brother considers me as his rival. He doesn't love you so I need to help someone who he doesn't love so bad so that will annoy the hell out of him." I explained to her.

"Stop saying shits like this, he loved me at some point in life." She opposed what I had said. Wait, was she still defending him after all what he had done to he?

It hurts me to see how ignorant she was about my brother.

"So did you get caught trying to sneak into their room?" I need to make sure that they were not suspicious about anything. The fact that they knew I might be having her back too.

"I almost got caught if not for your arrival." She replied bluntly; her eyes were fixed on the rad with the aggressive stares. I saw her text, but I didn't know that was what she meant.

I thank goodness that I came really early.

"If Maddie or Priscilla ever lay their hand on you, let me know about it." I changed the entire topic. It must have been so hard staying in the house alone, and I totally understood her point of view when she questioned me about not putting her in trouble.

"I sent you a file; you should go through it." I mentioned to her, as she then removed her phone, which was in her pocket.

"Wait! Are things official already? Am I already your personal assistant?" She questioned, and I could sense the change in her mood already.

"Go through the files first." I instructed her, and she went silent going through her phone.

"Wait! I have to go out with you in the next two days?" She opened her eyes in shock, looking through the schedule I had.

"Yes! It's a party designed for billionaires and millionaires in the city. Miguel is going to be there also." I informed her.

"Wait! What?" Her voice trailed off in shock, and I could feel her gaze on me. There was nothing wrong with what I had just said.

"Why should I have to go there? You just said that he will be there." She questioned. I knew how hard she was going to find it hard to face him whenever she could get to see him.

"That will make me determine how qualified you are for the job." I replied to her.

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    EPILOGUE III/AUTHOR'S NOTE.

Ominiscent's POV. Three years had passed since that night the night that had almost taken everything from Ria. The memory of Jade, the cliff, the terror it still flickered in her mind like a shadow but now it belonged to the past. Luca had been there, every step of the way, turning what could have been despair into safety, into a love so fierce that nothing could touch it. Their home overlooked a quiet lake, where mornings were painted with gold and evenings glimmered with pink and purple hues. The garden was Ria’s favorite place; she had insisted on planting jasmine, roses, and lilac along the pathways. The scent of flowers mixed with the gentle water breeze, creating a world of calm they could retreat to whenever the past crept too close. Ria had built her own life in those years. Her boutique—a collection of rare perfumes and custom fragrances—was thriving. She had started it small, but each scent told a story: a memory, a desire, a fragment of her soul. Luca adored surprising

My father had ensured the case against me was dismissed, clearing the way for me to act without hesitation. If I failed today, they might keep targeting me, and I could never allow that. The thought of finally seeing Ria at my mercy sent a thrill through me. I had always dreamed of this moment, imagining the satisfaction of watching her helpless, terrified, completely at my mercy. Finn had promised to help me, and the fact that he was willing made the anticipation even sweeter. She had announced her engagement to Luca. That would never happen—not as long as I lived.“Luca will save me,” she said with an air of confidence that made me laugh. She was so sure of herself, so convinced that everything would go according to her plan. How naive she was.“Not this time,” I murmured, lips curling into a dark smile. “There’s no escape tonight.”I led her

  • My Ex-Husband's Brother    Epilogue I

Epilogue Five Years Later The city was waking up as I drove home from my latest shoot. The early morning traffic hummed softly beneath my tires, the skyline glowing with the first hints of sunlight. After five years, life had changed in ways I never imagined. I was no longer just Avia. People knew my name. My face graced magazines, billboards, and movie posters. I had become a successful actress, admired by many, and yet… as much as I loved the lights, the cameras, and the applause, nothing compared to the warmth waiting for me at home. Pulling into the driveway, I noticed the laughter before I even opened the door. It was bright, full, and alive—the sound of Tristan with our children. My heart lifted immediately, a warmth spreading through me. This was home. This was what mattered. I stepped inside and froze for a moment, taking in the scene. Tristan was sprawled on the living room floor, our little ones climbing all over him, their giggles filling the air. He looked up, sa

Chapter 196 Avia's POV The house was quiet in the evening, soft golden lights casting a warm glow across the dining room. For the first time in weeks, I felt a calm that wasn’t edged with fear. Tristan was beside me, his hand resting lightly over mine, the baby safe and kicking gently. We had survived everything. Finn was behind bars. Brianne was neutralized. The company was slowly stabilizing, shareholders reassured, and the media… well, they were satisfied enough to stop hunting us like vultures.I looked at Tristan, really looked at him. The chaos, the danger, the near-death experiences, and all the betrayals—they had changed us. But we were still together. Still standing. Still alive. He caught my gaze and gave me a small, tired smile. “Dinner’s almost ready,” he said softly. His voice had that quiet strength that always calmed me.I nodded, letting myself relax into the moment. “I can’t believe we’re finally having a normal evening,” I whispered. He chuckled lightly. “Normal i

Chapter 193 Tristan’s POVThe sun was rising, casting a soft orange glow across the city. I sat behind my desk, the office feeling strangely calm for the first time in weeks. The chaos, the danger, the betrayal, it all seemed to be fading into the background.Avia was beside me, sitting in the chair I had pulled close to mine. Her hand rested over her stomach, the baby safe and kicking lightly. She looked exhausted, but alive. Beautiful. My heart tightened at the sight. We hadn’t slept well. Not since the warehouse incident, not since Brianne had tried to finish what she started. But the relief was undeniable. She was here, safe. And I wasn’t going to let anyone take her again.I rubbed my face. The events of the last few weeks were replaying in my mind like a broken recording. Finn, finally caught, was behind bars. Chapter 192 Tristan’s POV I had just finished going through reports on the company, trying to stay calm, trying to think about Avia and the baby. But instinct told me something was off.I didn’t hear the usual click of the security door. No footsteps in the hall. Just silence.I stood and scanned the room, heart tightening. Something in my gut told me it was serious. Before I could react, the door creaked open just a little. A shadow slipped in.“Tristan,” a voice whispered. Smooth. Cold. Calculated.Brianne.I spun around. She had a gun in her hand. My stomach dropped.“You really think you can keep her safe?” she said, eyes wild but controlled. “You really think you can protect her from me?”I swallowed hard. My hands rose slowly. “Brianne… put the gun down. We can talk. You don’t have to do this.”Her laugh was sharp, bitter. “Talk? Oh, Tristan… you’ve had your fun, haven’t you? But it’s over now. I’m ending it.”Avia had been in the office earlier. I glanced around frantically,
