“Where are you coming from?" Burke's voice rang out through the pitch-black room, making Silver freeze.

She flipped the light on, and she was surprised to find Burke sitting on the edge of her bed. It's been two weeks since he came back from the hospital, and while Silver couldn't say they were back to being friends, they were at least cordial now.

But not enough for him to be waiting in her room after a long day.

“What are you doing here?” She asked, walking towards him as her eyes scanned him. He looked okay, he's healed pretty nicely, and she wasn't concerned about leaving him home alone.

It had been stressful juggling taking care of him and preparing for the big day, which was tomorrow. She would finally step into her role as the Co-CEO of The Carrington dynasty tomorrow.

“That's not the answer to my question," Burke answered in a dangerously low voice. Silver paused, her lips flattening with a frown.

“I was out. Is there a problem?" She replied slowly.
