Three: Elena, Leave!

Three

Elena returned home, she had already gone to the hospital to check the status of her baby and it's still fine. Tara was in the kitchen, she has sent all Elena's house keeper out.

“Rita? Rita?” Elena called but Tara appeared instead. “Why are you in the kitchen?” Elena was taken aback.

“Cooking.” Tara replied, an apron around her waist.

“Where are the rest? Why are you the one cooking?” Elena asked but Tara rolled her eyes.

“They are useless. I sent them back home.” Tara simply told her but and went back cooking.

Elena raised her eyebrows, “Why are you like this Tara? Everyone sees you as a nice person! Why are you acting the opposite,” Elena lashed out.

“Come to think of it, why did you ignore me at the office earlier? Those two ladies ridiculed me. They said I was lying about my position as Lucas wife! I-i was insulted!” Elena yelped, remembering the scene.

“Aren't you? You're just a replacement. You took my space, isn't it?” Tara snapped. Elena was beyond shocked,

Tara wasn't like this? Or was she wrong to think she's a nice person?

“I’m his legal wife! I'm carrying his child. He will learn to love me.” Elena blurted out, Tara facial expression changed as her eyes shifted to Elena's stomach.

“Nothing can change how much Lucas loves me. Your pregnancy holds no post. Terminate it now ” Tara shove down the truth to her face.

“It will not. Lucas will love me and choose this child over you,” Elena was so sure but what Tara did next shocked her.

“Let's see, if he chooses you…” With that, Tara took the knife and cut her finger, she added a scream- loud enough for Lucas to hear from his room.

Like a flash, Lucas appeared. Elena felt so sad when she saw the worried look on Lucas face.

“Tara!! How did this happen? Why are you the one cooking?” he called rushing over to her. Tara changed her voice to a weaker one.

“All I wanted to do was to make Elena feel better. She told me to cook, I think Elena is angry I'm staying in her house,” Tara quickly said and Elena narrowed her eyes.

Why is she lying?!

For the first time ever, Lucas eyes were daring and his facial expression were nothing Elena had never seen.

“Why are you like this? Why are you being so wicked? Tara is the sick one here! Why on earth did you fucking make her cook for you?” Lucas yelled angrily, Elena almost cried.

“Don't tell me you believe that? Lucas, I'm your wife. You should defend me!” Elena said hoping Lucas would believe her.

“Tara has never lied to me. I believe her and I know jealousy can make you do anything,” Lucas fired back, Elena couldn't believe her ears

All she did was love this man? Where did it all go wrong?

Tara smiled evily at her and gave her a eye of ‘i told you, didn't I?’

“Don't take out your anger on your wife. It's my fault, I should leave your matrimonial house, I'm merely an intruder,” Tara chipped in, her face looking pale making anyone feel pity for her.

She's so good at playing the victim card.

“You're going nowhere! If anyone needs to leave, it should be Elena.” Lucas added and Elena heart tumbled like a truck is crashing.

“Come, let's get you treated,” Lucas took Tara away.

Elena went down on her knees and started crying. Lucas is breaking her heart.

Elena returned to her room with heavy heart, she kept rubbing her stomach, “I’m sorry child. Your father has refused to acknowledged us. He’s ignoring me,” Elena told herself and she was about to retire to the bed when her laptop beeped.

She drag her feet to the dressing table where her laptop is, “Who could it be,” She clicked on the mail and it was an official letter from a fashion academy.

Her friend had forced her to apply few days ago.

“Your designs are unique. We’d love to employ you as our lead designer with a good salary as a signing bonus. We will be looking forward to your response,” The mail said.

Elena was surprised at the salary they were offering her, “$100,000 as a signing bonus f*e?”

This offer could turn her life around. It could make her bastard money in few years time.

Her mind went back to Lucas, love has truly overwhelmed her. “I can’t leave him. I love him so much… I will decline this offer tomorrow and stick with Lucas, I will be having his baby,” With that she closed her laptop and went back to sleep.

-Next day-

Elena woke up, bathe and went to the dinning table, Lucas was already there. “Good morning Lucas!” She greeted him, her smile was out of the world.

“I have something to tell you.” Lucas simply told her.

Elena face glittered, she was dying to hear what Lucas has to say, “Yes? I’m listening,”

“Tara said I shouldn’t divorce you now. She wants to take over her father’s company before I push through with our divorce. So, be thankful to her that she’s nice enough to consider you.” Lucas announced and Elena heart dropped.

Stupid her thinks he cared.

“I’m not divorcing you, Lucas. You won’t.” Elena said but Lucas simply rolled her eyes.

“Why should I not? Your stay is over but you get to stay few months more anyways,” with that Lucas left the dinning.

“I’m carrying your child. You have to accept me” Elena thought in her head. She was having a bit hope but full of doubt as well.

Then Elena was heading out to meet with Ivy and she was about crossing the road but was too busy checking her phone when a car stopped at her front and pulled her into their car.

Before she know what was happening, one of them had sprayed something into the air and she passed out.

The next hour later Elena woke up, she was in an unknown location. An abandoned warehouse to be precise. She has been kidnapped!

She wanted to move but discovered she has been tied to a chair. “Where- where am I?”

“Hey you! Stop trying to escape! The only person who can save you is your husband !” A man told her and he was holding a knife. Elena feared.

“Release me!” Elena yelped.

“No. Lucas has to come and save you,” The man said dialing Lucas number on her phone.

Elena was already crying. ‘Would he come and save me?’ She thought.

Lucas picked, “Elena? What’s happening,”

With tears, Elena whispered “Please come and save me! I’ve been kidnapped-”

“Help me, Lucas! I’m coughing blood!” Elena heard Tara voice in the background.

“Let me call you back, Elena. Tara needs my help. Sort yourself out.” Lucas cut her off and ended the call.

Elena widened her eyes. Did he just end the call? She’s..she’s about to die and all he cared about is Tara?

The man who kidnapped her laughed. “I guess you’re not even important. Time to get rid of you,” The man announced bringing out a syringe.

“What’s-what’s that?” Elena asked, her eyes bringing out tears.

“What do you think? It’s to destroy you.”

Elena struggled to leave the chair but all to no avail. The man injected the substance into her body.

In less than five minutes, blood started coming out between her legs and her stomach hurts so bad, “No,,,my baby! My child!” She cried.

Suddenly the cops siren beeped making the strange man ran away from the warehouse, Elena passed out from bleeding profusely leaving her in a state of between life and death.
