I was scared of how Dad had been doing pretty lately. He was always in bed, in pain, and his doctors would check on him, but saying the same thing— Dad's life would only be until this month. His body could no longer fathom taking the medicine and rejected it. They said only miracles could heal him.

If this was the result of being happy during Mother's Day, I should have never allowed myself to be happy.

Yes, I was happy those times since I got to spend it with my child. And Calcifer?

Who said that man was included in making me happy? I asked myself.

Speaking of that man, he rarely came here again due to his busy schedule. Though he never failed to contact Liam.

"Miss Winter...you have to eat," Hawk stated beside me. Lifting my gaze, I found him staring at me.

Ah, right. I forgot I was not the only one here in Dad's room. There was also Hawk who never left my side except when he needed to do some errand such as driving the doctors back to the hospital.
