In the kids’ bedroom…

“Uncle Pete, please have a seat. I will get you a glass of water.” Clare said as she directed Pete to sit on the sofa.

Pete looked at his boss’s smart rascals and wondered what was wrong with them. He could not think of anything as to why he has been summoned here.

“I am okay, please sit down.” He spoke. The kids all looked the same so, he did not dare call out their names.

Carl looked at Pete sending them suspicious looks and decided to go right to the point. He was also afraid that their Mommy might storm in at any time to check on them.

“Uncle Pete, don’t be nervous. We only called to ask you what happened to our mother today.”

“Huh?” Pete did not understand and looked at Carl with a puzzled look.

“When we came home, Mommy was crying nonstop. She even sent you to pick us up from school. We thought that you might know what happened.”

“Did someone bully Mommy at her work?”

When Pete heard that question, he did not know whether to laugh or cry
