INICIAR SESIÓNOlivia's pov
The doctor's words screamed in my mind: He's infertile. He will never father a child. I was ready to take that secret to my grave to protect his pride, while he was inside my sister, mocking my existence.
I didn't know how long I stood there watching as the two people that meant the world to me betrayed me in the worst way possible. I took a shaky step back to leave—and my elbow knocked heavily against the wooden doorframe.
Clang.
The door swung wide open.
Kelvin froze mid-thrust. Evelyn shrieked, scrambling backward and frantically pulling the silk duvet over her bare chest. Kelvin whirled around, his eyes blown wide with pure, naked panic as he snatched a silk robe off the floor, his trembling hands failing twice to loop the belt around his waist.
"Olivia!" Kelvin stammered, his face draining of all color until he looked like a ghost. "What... what are you doing here?"
I stood frozen in the open doorway. My heart was battering against my ribs like a trapped bird, but when I spoke, my voice came out eerily, terrifyingly flat.
"I came home early for our anniversary, Kelvin . Am I interrupting?"
Evelyn’s initial panic vanished in a second. She let out a breathy, arrogant laugh, leaning back against the headboard and letting the silk sheet slip down past her collarbone.
"Well," Evelyn smirked, running a hand through her tangled hair. "I guess the surprise is ruined, big sister.”
"Evelyn..." My voice cracked, raw and broken. "How could you? I gave up my career... I signed a contract to marry a man I barely knew just so his family would pay for your kidney transplant! I gave up my freedom so you wouldn't die on a hospital bed! And this is how you repay me!?"
Evelyn rolled her eyes, casually picking at her red manicured nails. "Oh, please. Don't play the martyr, Olivia. You were an orphan my parents took in out of charity. Paying for my surgery was the bare minimum you owed our family."
Kelvin stepped between us, his panicked expression rapidly hardening into cold, arrogant disdain. He buttoned his robe, looking down at me like I was something dirty he had stepped on.
"Save the dramatic speech, Olivia," Kelvin sneered. "Look at you. You’re broken. Four years of marriage and you haven't produced a single heir. But in less than six months your sister is pregnant with my child.”
“That's… that's not possible. My voice shook. "The doctor said—"
"The doctor lied to spare your pathetic feelings!" Kelvin barked, cutting me off. "You're useless to me, Olivia. Forget it. Just leave.”
I stared at his angry, flushed face. He was the infertile one. He was the reason there was no heir. So whatever child Evelyn was carrying, it wasn't his.
I looked at them both—the man I had loved and the sister I had sacrificed everything for. They didn't deserve the truth. They didn't deserve my grace.
"We're done, Kelvin ," I said, my voice dropping an octave, dead and steady. "I want a divorce."
Kelvin smirked, a dangerous, towering look creeping onto his face as he took a heavy step toward me. "A divorce? Are you out of your mind, Olivia?" He scoffed, glaring at me.
"You don't get to demand a damn thing. Read the contract again. It’s a five-year deal. We have one whole year left, and you are going to sit quietly and fulfill every single day of it."
"I am not staying with you for another second," I snapped, my hands balling into tight fists.
"You'll stay until I say we're done!" Kelvin barked, his voice booming against the walls. "My father is watching every move I make. I need this marriage intact until the board officially makes me the CEO. Once I get the company, I won't need your stupid ass anymore. But until then, you stay right where you are. You don't get to do the dumping here, Olivia. I do."
Evelyn slithered out from under the duvet with a smirk "Don't get too angry, Olivia. I did all of this for you. I was going to hand over the baby to you.” She said, rubbing her flat stomach.
“Besides, you have nobody except us. My family won't take you back if you ruin this. You're completely useless on your own. Just stay here, shut your mouth, and let us keep feeding and clothing you. Don't act like you're worth anything. You're not a big deal."
My chest ached at each word but my resolve only hardened.
"I said, I want a divorce," I repeated.
"And I said NO!" Kelvin yelled, reaching out aggressively to snatch my arm. "If you try to walk, I'll sue your adoptive parents for every penny of that kidney surgery fund! I'll ruin you!"
I took a sharp step back out of his reach, pulled my phone out, and unlocked the screen. "You won't sue anyone, Kelvin . And you won't hold me here for another day. There are cameras in this room that have captured all your filth.”
His face drained of color in an instant.
“What!?”
“I installed them to monitor the previous maid that kept stealing from us. If you don't sign unconditional divorce papers by nine o'clock tomorrow morning, the video goes straight to your father’s private inbox and remember Maya is a reporter. They live for news like this.”
Kelvin froze mid-stride, his chest heaving. He knew his father. He would strip him of his inheritance and kick him off the board before the sun set tomorrow.
"You... you evil bitch," Kelvin hissed, his eyes bloodshot. "Fine! I'll sign the damn papers tomorrow! But you keep your mouth shut about this. Not a single word to my father, or I swear to God—"
"Sign the papers, and the video stays buried," I interrupted flatly. "Nine AM. My lawyer's office."
I turned on my heel and walked out.
Olivia's povMy hand froze in mid-air, the leather folder slipping an inch against my palm as his words hung heavy in the silent room.Ethan— Ethan—No. That was impossible. The sharp, uncompromising jawline, the broad shoulders, the piercing gray eyes that had haunted every single one of my nightmares for seven long years... it was Ethan."Nice to meet you, Ms. Olivia," he said smoothly, leaning forward and extending a hand across the polished mahogany desk. His voice was lower than I remembered, deeper, but the underlying danger in his tone remained unchanged.A wave of icy panic rushed through my veins, but seven years of building an empire from nothing had taught me how to wear a mask. I forced my fingers to stop trembling, swallowed the lump in my throat, and stepped forward."Nice to meet you too, Mr. Rothwell," I replied, taking his hand. His grip was firm, warm, and sent a sudden, unwelcome shock straight up my arm. I withdrew my hand as quickly as politeness allowed and took
Seven Years Later"Mommy, I don't want to stay in the hospital again," My baby's voice crackled through the phone, with a tired grumbling. "I want to go home. It smells like medicine here, and the beds are scratchy."I sank into my office chair, pressing a hand to my forehead as a sharp ache throbbed behind my eyes. "No, baby, the doctor said you have to stay for a bit. Your condition will get worse if you leave now, and Mommy needs you to get better.""But I feel fine now!" he protested softly. "I just want to play with my trains.""I know, my heart," I said, softening my voice to a soothing murmur. "Put the phone on speaker and give it to your nanny for a second, okay?"There was a heavy rustle on the other end before Elena’s warm, polite voice came through. "Ms. Olivia?”"Elena, how is he really?" I asked, dropping the light facade. "What did the doctor say when he came in for the rounds?"Elena sighed, stepping out into the quiet hallway so Vincent wouldn't hear. "The specialist s
I stared down at the two dark, bold pink lines, my knees buckling until I hit the cold bathroom tiles. The world felt like it was spinning completely out of control.Pregnant. With Ethan’s baby. The door unlocked and opened softly. Maya stepped inside, her eyes dropping to the plastic stick in my trembling hand. She gasped, kneeling next to me and wrapping her arms tightly around my shaking shoulders."Oh, Olivia..." Maya breathed, her voice cracking with pure empathy. "It's... it's Ethan's, isn't it?"I could only nod, tears silently streaming down my face.“Oh my God.” She gasped. My throat was dry as I stared at the lines, like it was going to disappear. "Olivia, listen to me," Maya said firmly, pulling back to look me straight in the eyes. "You have to tell him. Whatever happened between you two, forget it. This is his child. He's a billionaire, Olivia. He has power. He can protect you from Kelvin, and he has a right to know—""No!" I choked out, a wave of violent panic surging t
Olivia's pov I marched into the Blackwood Corporate Headquarters, my blood boiling so hot I could barely feel the ground beneath my feet."You can't go up there, ma'am!" the front desk guard called out, scrambling after me as I pressed the button for the executive elevators."Tell Kelvin Blackwood if he doesn't see me right now, I’m screaming the truth in this lobby until the police arrive!" I shouted back, tears of pure rage stinging my eyes. The guard frantically spoke into his earpiece, listened for two seconds, and let out a heavy sigh. "Floor 40. He'll see you."I rode the elevator up, my hands clenched into tight fists. The moment the doors opened on the top floor, I shoved open the heavy oak doors of Kelvin 's corner office.Kelvin was sitting behind his massive glass desk, casually sipping espresso as if he hadn't just destroyed my life."You sick, pathetic bastard!" I yelled, slamming my palms onto his desk. "An AI video? You framed me for cheating to cover up what you and E
Ethan's pov I stepped out of the private elevator and into my corner office, slamming the heavy double doors shut behind me.The silence of the room was oppressive, but it did nothing to quiet the chaotic storm raging in my mind. Opening the top drawer of my desk, I bypassed the whiskey bottle and reached straight for the pill, shaking out two distinct navy-blue capsules into my palm. I didn't bother with water; I just swallowed them whole, pushing down the familiar, bitter taste that had followed me since my early twenties.Just a precaution, I reminded myself, grimacing as I closed the drawer. The stress from the Australia expansion was already pushing my levels. I don't need a flare-up now.I leaned against the massive glass desk, unbuttoning my collar with a harsh, impatient tug, and stared out over the sprawling city skyline. I couldn't believe what had happened last night. After moving to Australia to avoid the torture of them being together in guise of expanding the family
Olivia’s PovThe faint, rhythmic hum of central air conditioning woke me.I blinked against the harsh morning light filtering through unfamiliar sheer curtains, my head pounding with a heavy hangover. I shifted under the crisp white duvet, my body aching with a deep, unfamiliar soreness.I sat up fast, clutching the sheet to my chest as panic sparked in my veins. The room was massive, bathed in golden morning light. The cedarwood scent was still faint in the air, but Ethan was gone.I rubbed my temples, the hazy memories of last night slowly flooding back—my desperate threats, his icy gaze, and the dark fire that had consumed the room.As I turned toward the bedside table to grab my phone, my breath hitched.Stacked on the mahogany nightstand were five thick bands of crisp hundred-dollar bills—at least twenty thousand dollars. Right next to the cash lay a sharp, heavy piece of cream cardstock.I picked up the note with a trembling hand. Written in dark, razor-sharp cursive were just
