She sniffed in contemplating on either going back to their estate or not.

Then a waiter came up to her.

You should go ahead in ma'am, the program is about to begin.

She raised her head a little and began taking her steps in, but just then Andrea sprung up to her.

"Hey Alicia, it's being such a long time I see you." She had on a smile.

This was the woman who had ruined her marriage completely, why was she smiling and being all friendly to her? Alicia stared intermittently at her.

What was so special about her that Nathan could die for? her gaze never left her body.

Was it her body? she also had a nice body. She kept staring until Andrea interrupted her thoughts

"Hope you've been good?" She asked.

"Yes and you??"

"I'm good, and by the way you look beautiful in your dress."

Alicia knew she was only mocking her as she was obviously looking more prettier.

"You also looked.." She didn't get to finish when Andrea dragged forward a waiter that was passing by and pushed him towards herself pouring down the drinks on the tray all over her body.

"Ma'am.. ma'am I'm sorry." The waiter apologized but Andrea glared hard at him and mouthed for him to leave.

He sprung off immediately.

"What the hell!" Andrea screamed and fell down to the floor.

"I was only trying to be friendly with you, why did you do this to me miss Alicia?! why are you being so mean to me!" Andrea wailed confusing Alicia.

She hasn't done anything and why was she putting the blame of a waiter on her head?? she stood speechless and confused until people started gathering at the scene.

Among the mini crowd, Nathan pushed through and grabbed her up delicately like her knight in shining armor.

His gaze was deadly.

"Alicia!" His tone was cold as ice it sent shivers down Alicia's spine, she shuddered.

"Why did you do that!" His stares had fires burning inside of them while he held her delicately to himself. It cut through Alicia's chest like a knife, she looked at the both almost about to tear up but she held it in. She hasn't done anything.

"Answer me! Why did you do this to Andrea!"

"I didn't do anything." She muttered.

"Why must you lie?! I was only greeting you and you did this to me! you ruined my limited edition dress." She wailed into Nathan's chest while he rubbed her back.

Rather than being pained now, she was beginning to feel disgusted. She bite her lower lips in anger

"You have to apologise to Andrea." Nathan muttered.

She scoffed painfully, and just then she saw Andrea smirked into Nathan's chest.

Then it dawned on her. She should've followed her instinct instead of being confused all this while. This b!tch had planned everything.

Then she held up her head.

"I haven't done anything and I wouldn't apologize to her." She spat and turned away from the scene.

If her mother inlaw wasn't busy with her friends she would've collected more ridiculous words from her.

She figured she wasn't welcomed here anyways, why does she have to stay?

She sprung off into her car and drove off immediately leaving behind the driver.

If she could beat up the two lovers, she'd have felt better, she had dreadful anger in her guts.

When she got home, she sprung into the shower immediately.

She could run mad if she doesn't cool off. Nathan and his mistress had succeeded in ruining her day, she cried in the shower while water dripped down her body.

After several hours in shower, she came out and was ready to sleep, but just then her phone lit up.

"Such an incompetent daughter in-law, it was nice you weren't even present, how could I have introduced you as my son's wife?! Andrea was just perfect and she replaced you! I wished she had married my son instead of you! you're nothing but a disgrace."

She switched off her phone and threw herself on the bed. She'd had enough and she was tired.

She managed to put herself to sleep and just then, her door banged opened. When she opened her eyes, she could only see blurry images.

"Who's there??" She muttered yawning now.

"Alicia!" The thunderous voice jolted her up immediately.

"Nathan??" She whispered.

"Why are you so cruel! you haven't apologized for one and you already did another one??"

She was confused, what has she done yet again even though she didn't do anything.

"What have I done this time??" She asked, of course frustrated at all the accusations.

"Don't you dare act dumb with me." His voice had coldness in them.

"Nathan, you met me here sleeping right? whatever is it that had happened, isn't me."

"Cut me the crap! Who else would want Andrea dead? Why did you f*cking paid a car to run her over?! Andrea almost died!" He yelled at top of his lungs.

"Run her over??" Alicia was shocked.

This was huge, she wondered why anyone would want to run her over?? Of course she hated her but not enough to have her killed?

"Answer me now!"

"Get away from me and go look for who's behind it." She spat and fell back on her bed, but he held her up.

"If anything happened to Andrea, I'll have you beheaded." He threatened, his eyes burning like that of a devil.

"I haven't done anything, get your hands off me." She muttered then a smirk suddenly appeared on her lips, at the realization of something.

Andrea was a f*cking bitch, what if she was a side chick of other married men and the wives wanted her dead?

The smirk disappeared immediately as Nathan's grips tightened more on her hand.

"Don't reap off my arm okay, go ask your princess who else she's having an affair with, it's certainly not me." She muttered while wincing in pain.

"How dare you try to accuse Andrea of cheating on me."

"If you want to strangle me now cos of that dirty b!tch, just do it, kill me! go ahead!" She was now breaking down in tears. She was tired.

"Don't you dare call her dirty."

She slowly cleaned her eyes with her other hand

Now was the time.

There was no use enduring this anymore.

No matter how hard she tried, she figured she could never have Nathan by her side.

Back then when he was still on a wheel chair, he had mistaken her for Andrea so many times, especially when he was asleep and she tried to cuddle him, he'd always mentioned Andrea's name.

"I'm coming back for you, you must apologize to Andrea whether you like it or not."

He let go of her arm and dashed forward to leave but Alicia wasn't done with him yet.

Nathan's POVI walked toward the private lounge cautiously, my footsteps soft against the polished floor. Steam still clung to me, my bath towel clinging to my chest, but I ignored it. I didn’t want to announce myself yet. I needed to see. I needed to hear.Through the slightly ajar door, I caught fragments of their conversation.“…Nathan has to forgive you,” my mother’s voice floated out, calm but insistent. “He must see this as a blessing. You’re carrying his child, he cannot turn away from that.”Andrea’s voice, low but tense, answered. “…I know, Mother. I just… I hope he doesn’t make this harder than it has to be. I… I want him to trust me.”The words were smooth, rehearsed, like a script delivered to convince someone who wasn’t fully buying it. My stomach turned.I pressed myself closer to the wall, my heart was hammering, my instincts screamed: She is hiding something. That quick twitch of fear in her voice, the way she said hope he doesn’t make it harder— it wasn't a worry over

Nathan’s POVHer words froze the room.“I know something,” Celine said again, her voice steady though her eyes betrayed a weight she carried.Andrea’s sobs faltered. My mother turned sharply toward Celine, her expression hardening. “What are you talking about?” she asked quickly, almost defensively.Celine stepped further into the sitting room. She was dressed plainly, her black gown hanging loose on her frail frame, but she carried herself with the same quiet authority she had when I was a boy. “Master Nathan,” she said softly, her eyes never leaving mine, “not everything is as it seems here.”Andrea shot up from her seat, her tears forgotten. “What nonsense is this? You come back from your leave and the first thing you do is try to poison Nathan’s mind against me? How dare you!”“Enough, Andrea,” I snapped, though my eyes stayed locked on Celine. “Celine, if you know something, say it.”My mother raised a hand, cutting in sharply. “Celine, this is not your place. You’re only making

  • My Ex-husband Wants me Back   Chapter 18

Nathan's POVI stayed back in the office till past six. I told myself it was work, but really, it was the weight in my chest that kept me there. I thought about every move Alicia could be making, every decision she thought she would take without me, I felt it. And my greatest worry was planning a way to bring her back, even if she didn’t know it yet.The silence of the office felt safer than going home to questions I wasn’t ready for. The office had emptied hours ago. Cleaners were already done and the corridors were silent, the only sound was the dull hum of the air conditioner above me. I should have gone home, but I couldn’t. My desk had nothing new on it. My laptop screen glowed with reports I had read twice already. Still, I stayed, staring at the numbers without seeing them, letting the silence wrap around me.The truth was simple. I was overwhelmed. The weight of everything pressed down until I could barely breathe. Every time I thought of walking through my front door, my che

Andrea followed suit, her steps were slower and hesitant, but she didn’t stop. She entered his office after him, trying to read his expression and searching for some sign of what he was thinking. The murmurs from the boardroom followed them like a shadow, carrying whispers of speculation and curiosity. No one dared speak too loudly, but the tension in the air was thick. Everyone knew something had just happened, and all eyes were waiting for the storm to break. When Andrea realized Nathan wasn’t ready to listen, her face hardened. Without another word, she turned and left the premises, anger simmering beneath her calm.”In the back seat of her car, Andrea dialed quickly. Her voice dropped, in a cold and deliberate manner. “Lay low, Jack. Do not let Nathan suspect you as an accomplice to Camila. Is that clear?” “Yes ma'am.” Jack responded as he sneaked into the restroom at the office and he hung up immediately he heard footsteps approaching the door.Nathan sat at his desk, files spr

“Camila?”Nathan’s lips tightened as he leaned closer to the monitor. His office secretary. The one he had always trusted to be loyal, or so he thought.“Why would she steal from me?” he muttered under his breath, disbelief twisting inside him.On the screen, Camila moved with precise and controlled motions. She dragged boxes of Italian marble tiles across the floor, stacking them neatly in a duffle bag, before crouching by another crate. Everything about her was too practiced and felt too confident. She knew this warehouse like the back of her hand.Nathan’s hand hovered over the phone, ready to call security, but instinct held him back.He switched to another angle. The camera caught her from the side, giving him a full view of her movements. Camila rifled through crates of gold-plated bathroom fittings, inspecting each piece before sliding it carefully into the bag. She moved quickly but cautiously, her every step measured. One mistake and it would be over, she thoughtHer phone b

  • My Ex-husband Wants me Back   Chapter 15

Nathan slowed the car and eventually halted by the side of the road. For a fleeting moment his heart surged. The thought of stepping out, of walking up to her and demanding answers, even of confessing that he still loved her, flashed through his mind. But then his gaze shifted, and everything inside him hardened.A man in a sharp suit, tall and self-assured, the kind of man whose presence filled the space around him, walked out from a hilux and stood beside her.Nathan’s hand froze on the door handle as he watched the man lean closer, his arm brushing against Andrea’s shoulder. She tilted toward him easily, laughing at something he said, and the sound of it— even muffled through the glass, cut straight into Nathan’s chest. His jaw clenched, the muscles in his face tightening as a dull ache spread through him. He stayed where he was, gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles whitened. Every movement of hers, the way she turned her head, the small smile that curved her l
