Nathan's POV

I sat in the lawyer's office, the documents my ex-wife was entitled to sliding across the table like a silent threat. I barely glanced at them. "She hasn’t asked for anything," I said, my voice even.

The lawyer adjusted his glasses, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "That is not unusual."

"It is for her," I replied, my fingers tapping a slow rhythm on the table.

He leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips. "What exactly are you worried about, Mr Nathan?"

I stopped tapping. "Al

Third Person POVAlicia arrived at her workplace early that morning. The office was already awake, filled with the quiet rhythm of keyboards clicking and phones ringing softly in the background. She settled into her chair and dropped her bag onto the desk.As she reached inside to pull out her notebook, her fingers brushed against something stiff. She paused. The wedding invitation.Vin’s invitation card.Alicia slowly pulled it out and stared at it for a moment. The gold letters printed across the surface glimmered under the white office lights.Vin Romano MorettiandMelvinaHer brows slowly drew together.Something about it felt strange again. She leaned back in her chair and opened her laptop.“If Melvina is marrying Vin… then what exactly is her connection with Adeline?” she murmured quietly to herself. Her fingers began moving across the keyboard.A few seconds later, Adeline’s social profile appeared on the screen.Alicia leaned closer. The page was almost empty.Just a few pic

Nathan's POVI sat in the lawyer's office, the documents my ex-wife was entitled to sliding across the table like a silent threat. I barely glanced at them. "She hasn’t asked for anything," I said, my voice even. The lawyer adjusted his glasses, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "That is not unusual.""It is for her," I replied, my fingers tapping a slow rhythm on the table. He leaned back, a small smile playing on his lips. "What exactly are you worried about, Mr Nathan?"I stopped tapping. "Alicia is not the kind of person who lets things go quietly. If she is ignoring the properties, then she is planning something else."The lawyer’s smile grew, a placating gesture. "You are overthinking this. Whatever she plans should not affect you in any way."Maybe. But the feeling in my gut refused to settle. I stood up, buttoned my jacket. "Send the documents to my office," I said."Of course."Outside, Mark was waiting by the car, opening the door as I approached. "Office?" he asked."Yes."T

"Who is there?”Adeline’s heart slammed against her ribs.Celine’s voice. The handle turned.Adeline moved fast, pressing herself flat against the wall behind the door just as it creaked open. She clasped both hands over her mouth, forcing her breathing to quiet. Her pulse roared in her ears.Celine stepped inside. Her shoes clicked softly against the floor. She glanced left, then right, eyes scanning the bed, the curtains, the dressing table.Adeline squeezed her eyes shut.Please. Just leave.Celine lingered for a moment, frowning slightly as though she sensed something off. Then she shook her head, stepped back, and closed the door. Her footsteps faded down the corridor.Adeline stayed where she was, counting silently. One minute. Two. Three. When she was certain the hallway was empty, she slipped out from behind the door. Her legs felt weak but she forced herself forward, closing Andrea’s door carefully behind her before hurrying toward her own room.“I was almost caught today,” s

CHAPTER 45Adeline was lost for words. Her tongue felt heavy, useless. She found herself stammering over and over again, each attempt worse than the last.“I… I…”Nathan’s eyes dropped to her hands. Slowly. Carefully. He examined them to see if she had taken anything from the safe. Her fingers were bare. No gold. No pouch. No hidden cloth. Nothing.Only then did she finally find her voice.“I went in to clean the safe,” she said, forcing the sentence out.“At this hour?” he asked. The question was calm, but it pressed against her chest. She scratched her head, buying time, searching desperately for what to say. Her thoughts scrambled until something clicked. “I was feeling very sick during the day,” she rushed out. “But I have a little strength now. I thought I could clean it.”The words sounded thin. Even she could hear it.Nathan’s gaze did not soften. She was obviously lying. So he assumed.“How did you get access to the safe?” Nathan asked.Again, she was lost for words. Her mind

Andrea was furious. But she still loved him.Or at least, she loved the way he made her feel. She stood in the middle of the suite, chest rising and falling sharply. Her eyes blazed with a mix of anger and desire.“How could you?” she snapped, her voice trembling between hurt and outrage. “You think I won’t hear about this? You think I won’t walk in?”The three women hurried out, gathering their things, glancing at her with a mix of curiosity and awkwardness. The door clicked shut behind them.Silence.The man ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “Andrea, don’t start.”“Don’t start?” she laughed bitterly, the sound sharp in the quiet room. “You’re in bed with three women.”“And you came here without calling,” he said, his voice calm but edged with steel. Her jaw tightened, her teeth pressing together. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Then something shifted. The anger didn’t vanish; it melted into something darker, hotter, reckless. She stepped closer, the heat of her body press

Andrea stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection longer than necessary. The room was extremely quiet. She slowly lifted a deep red gown from the bed and pressed it against her body. The silk clung perfectly. It made her look elegant, bold, impossible to ignore.“If he won’t look at me at home,” she murmured under her breath, fastening the zipper carefully, “he will have to look at me tonight.”She adjusted the neckline slightly lower. Her fingers paused. Her lips pressed into a thin line.Ever since the pregnancy… everything had shifted. Nathan had grown colder, more distant. Like she was a reminder of something he didn’t want to face.Andrea picked up her phone. No message from him.Not even a simple I’ve arrived. Her lips curved into a thin smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes.“Fine,” she whispered. “Let’s see how distant you stay tonight.”Her driver opened the car door for her when she arrived at the venue of the party Nathan attended.Flashlights flickered in the di
