CHAPTER ONE ~First impressions

CHAPTER ONE

First impressions

Strands of dark brown hair of the beautiful woman swayed, as the footsteps wrapped in expensive high heels on both legs squeaked against the marble floor of New York City's famous shopping center—along with both hands carrying several paper bags in different sizes.

Her name is Alessia Mikhayla. A woman with a firm build with thick eyebrows, a sharp nose and small pink lips. Beautiful and charming. At least, that's how people think of him.

Alessia is a member of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) secret recruitment agency. No one knows his profession, including his family. Alessia hides her identity as a troop of the GK group which is none other than Girls Knight as privacy security.

Girls Knight itself consists of four beautiful women including Alessia—a sniper, at least that's the nickname of her teammates. And three of them exist; Arabella Alison—the clever use of sharp objects, then there's Keira Sashenka—the skilled archer, and lastly there's Velove Agneiszka—Girls Knight's mainstay hero. In addition to being joined as one member, they also form friendships. Even since childhood. You could say... They are female knights in an organization that upholds the value of solidarity.

Alessia's blue eyes scanned—busy sorting through several bags that were beautifully displayed in the window until her choice fell on a new Chanel metallic red bag. After getting her choice, Alessia moved to the cashier and then paid and the pair of high heels again walked gracefully leaving the store and then stopped when they arrived at the lobby of the shopping center.

Ara is calling...

"Fuck you, Ale! I've been waiting for you for almost fifteen minutes! If you're still long, just get a taxi!"

Arabella's voice sounded angry. No greetings and small talk as usual. Alessia slightly moved her phone away before pulling her lips, holding back the twitches at the corners of her lips which in the end still showed a smile. "Calm down, Babe. Fifteen minutes, how long?" he chuckles guiltlessly.

Arabella's whimper was heard on the other end of the line. Alessia was sure, the woman must be preparing a series of curses for her once she arrived. "You obviously know I hate waiting!" he grumbled.

"Alright." Alessia's smile widens. "Look, it's six o'clock." said Alessia giving instructions. He glanced up as Arabella turned around while glaring at him sharply. Unfortunately, Alessia was already immune and she wasn't affected at all by what Arabella was trying to show her.

Arabella's look of disdain was evident as soon as Alessia approached. From a distance, Alessia knew that Arabella was upset but even so, Alessia still did not sympathize. Truly a wonderful friendship.

"Your face scares me," Alessia's voice sounded as soon as the side door of the steering wheel opened, she gave a sweet smile as she put her shopping in the back seat without distracting Arabella who was rushing out of the courtyard.

"Little devil. Your smile says otherwise, damn it!"

See....

Alessia's low laugh aired at Arabella's reply, confirming her sentence. Silent. A moment of silence enveloped them. Alessia herself didn't care about choosing to glance out the window. The frenzy of traffic took his attention for a moment.

It's been a long time... Her mind mumbled.

"When are you going to stop doing that bad habit of yours, Ale?" Alessia watched Arabella watching her shopping in the back seat through the rearview mirror. "You have to remember that right now you live alone."

"There are still you guys," said Alessia unconcerned.

"The question is, how long?" the rebuke sounded serious even though Arabella's gaze was still focused on the city streets. "You clearly know where this is going."

For a moment, Alessia felt her chest constrict. Right. How long do you want? The question keeps repeating itself, piling up and ending up not finding an answer like it used to. Alessia didn't know for sure but for now, at least for now let her go the path she had chosen. "Don't remind me of that, Ara. You clearly understand me, don't you?" replied Alessia trying to relax. It was obvious that he was avoiding this topic.

Arabella glanced at Alessia lazily. Move slowly when stopped at a red light. This time Arabella really focused her attention on Alessia. "In fact you do need to be reminded of that, Ale. Listen, you have to learn to be frugal or you'll become poor in the near future if you continue with that bad habit of yours." said Arabella seriously.

Then, as usual. Alessia just rolled her eyes in response to all kinds of comments from her friends. At first glance he seemed unconcerned but in fact he was also a little worried about what Arabella had to say.

"You have any suggestions?"

Arabella's fingers grabbed a small piece of paper on the dashboard of her car and held it out to Alessia while turning her attention back to the front when the light turned green.

Name card.

Alessia accepts it.

Albyazka Stevano.

Alessia's eyebrows rose. Stefano? If I remember correctly, Stevano International is the largest property company that has succeeded in establishing many subsidiary companies with the same rapid development in each country. You could say, Stevano International is a core company that has spread in the largest international market today.

"I heard their company is currently looking for a secretary. The salary is pretty good and of course you don't have to come back just to beg for groceries." Arabella explained the sirat with a sneer at the end of her sentence.

Alessia's face twisted, disapproving. He looked back at the business card in his hand before putting it in his bag. "I'll think about it," Alessia took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. "After all, going back just for money isn't my type."

"I'm not even sure I remember your habits." Arabella pouted openly. Making Alessia snort however, also doesn't deny it.

Alessia realized that her shopping habits in her life were ingrained. Growing up with a well-to-do environment formed an unhealthy lifestyle that nested in him. Shopping, shopping and shopping. That's all Alessia's daily activities when she's not on duty.

Well, at least that was then. In the past year or so, Alessia has saved several times, although it can't be said to be successful because it always fails on the third day. So, for whatever it was, Alessia had absolutely no intention of correcting.

Let it be... Because it's true.

It didn't take them long to arrive at a cafeteria where the Girls Knight gathering usually was. Alessia opened the car door while humming a little, looking confident and starting to step inside. His eyes lit up very clearly as if to say that he was indeed feeling happy.

"Well, let me guess, you must have drained your wallet. Right?" Keira sneered when Alessia had just arrived at their table. The gleam of joy from Alessia's face was very easy to guess. So responsive.

Alessia is a moody figure. It's easy to feel happy and sad at the same time.

Alessia gave a nonchalant snort as she pulled the chair next to the normal looking Velove. Indeed, among the four of them, Velove Agnieszka is indeed more understanding to know everything related to them. You could say... This kind of thing is common. Very ordinary.

"If it wasn't my best friend, I wouldn't have waited for him." Arabella snorted taking a seat to the left of Keira.

Alessia laughed cheerfully. "Sometimes you should know what it's like to wait, Ara."

"I'm almost tired of doing it first."

"Yeah, don't bring it up. We're talking now. That means now, not then."

"Up to you."

"Stupidly, he never realized it. He was hurt many times but still chose to survive. One word for him...." said Keira who was immediately greeted by Alessia and Velove at the same time.

"I.d.i.o.t." they said in unison.

"Damn it! Don't bring it up again. It just makes me sick!" Arabella annoyed accompanied by amused laughter from the three of them.

"You should know how stupid you were two years ago, Ara. Old-fashioned and stubborn. So disgusting." Alessia's sneer was still with a chuckle etched on her face.

Arabella didn't respond. He just snorted. Feeling annoyed with their discussion which he thought was very childish. For God's sake.. Each and every one of them is clearly very aware of each other's disgrace. This kind of talk is completely useless.

"There's more..." Velove paused, drawing their attention to focus on him completely. "There is someone who is more stubborn by pursuing his hobby when his finances are on the verge of poverty. Childish."

Velove almost fell over as soon as the chair he was sitting on shifted because of the impact of Alessia's legs. Boisterous laughter instantly filled the table, sounding very annoying but unfortunately, things like this always happen again. Bullying, cursing, fighting to keep supporting each other. Isn't this what a friend does? They complement each other, not tear each other down.

These four great women always do things just to have fun without intending to hurt.

Luckily, they were still able to control the pitch of the voice so well that nothing else could be heard.

Alessia raised her middle finger as she said. "Fuck you, Vee!" he said slowly but firmly.

For a moment their table became the center of attention when again boisterous laughter filled the table. Apart from their beautiful faces that have stolen attention, their loose laughter is able to make the surrounding Adams stunned, it's different with the women who look at them as if they feel very disturbed. They ignored him—choosing not to care while continuing to tease each other.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard of the cafeteria, a couple was seen throwing an argument at each other. No matter the people passing by, the two adults were still arguing with each other.

"You don't understand my language? I'm not interested in you." said the man in a firm voice.

Yeah, a little correction. They are not lovers.

The blonde woman shook her head slowly—refusing to believe it. "You're always like this, rejecting all the women who try to get close to you." he said making assumptions.

"Whatever you say, I don't care. All I have to say is... Stay away from me. Remember this in your pretty head, I have absolutely no feelings for you. In fact, I'm reluctant to even glance at you. Until here I hope you can understand."

Sick. Why does it still hurt so much?

"You're selfish, Alby! You're forcing me to understand you but, you? You don't even care about me at all!"

Right. This is Albyazka Stefano. The handsome man with a million charms always has a way of destroying the feelings of the women who admire him. Alby never really felt attracted to a woman. According to him, having a woman in his life will only hinder his freedom.

Almost all the women who always chased him, looked like parasites to Alby. Easy to get at the same time makes it easy to get bored. And of course Alby didn't like his precious time wasted because of a woman. He wasn't going to let that happen to him like what his best friend—Axelle Wynne had experienced.

"Why should I?"

For a moment, both of them were silent. The blonde woman was at a loss for words then, then she tried to be strong, struggling to form questions that might occur. "Do you have someone in your heart?"

"None of your business."

"I need to know! You suddenly fired me just because I confessed my feelings. This whole time... It was only me. Then, why? If it was because of someone I definitely wouldn't—"

"Yes. I have someone in my heart and, of course it's not you. For no other reason." interrupted Alby who didn't let his former secretary finish his sentence.

"Lie!" he shouted.

"You refuse to believe it."

"How come? I've never even seen another woman by your side besides Elena."

"That's right. I deliberately hid it from the public because I don't like mine to be seen by other people."

The blonde woman chuckled, between disappointment and disbelief. Both dominate. "You lied again..." he whispered.

"Me, no. My woman is too precious to just show off to the public. She's mine, so what's the deal with the public about that?"

The woman's hands were clenched between her body. Shame and hurt. He never imagined that he would be rejected like this. After convincing himself to confess the feelings he had harbored for nearly five years, this... Was the last thing he had in mind all this time. And Alby managed to knock him out—destroy him without giving him a chance to start.

"Why not me?" the blonde woman rubbed the corners of her watery eyes, sounding desperate. Then, her smile appeared, looking very forced. "Well, if that's true. Introduce him to me." he asked.

Right at the same time Alessia walked past them, not caring about the fight between the two people there and honestly Alessia never expected her first kiss to just disappear when her arm was suddenly pulled closer. Alessia gasped, could not believe what had happened to her so soft and warm the lips of the crazy man who pulled her arm now brushed her lips.

Damn it! What's going on here?

Alessia's tongue went blank, even Alessia cursed herself for being suddenly weak with just a bottomless kiss.

"I told you in a minute. Why are you impatient, Darling?" Alby said softly as he wrapped his arms around Alessia's waist. Awaken the woman from her shock.

"Bastard! What are you talking about, huh?!"

Alby's dimples formed as soon as his lips pulled together, forming a sweet smile complete with a look full of love there. "It's okay. You don't have to act anymore."

Nausea seemed to whack Alessia hearing the sweet tone that came out of the lips of the man in front of her. An innocent smile, a look without guilt, not even an apology. Alessia's face turned bright red, ready to swear at the crazy man but Alby stopped her by giving her another short kiss on the lips. "He needs to know who my woman is. So why don't I give him a chance right?"

"You... you madman! Let me go, you bastard!"

The sound of sobbing suddenly made Alessia turn her attention to the blonde woman who had been watching them almost without blinking. His gaze was fragile, between despair, disappointment and shame. It was clearly visible on his face.

Ah, now Alessia knows. This crazy man who was hugging her had definitely rejected her and made her a shield. Great.

Really damn!

Without saying anything the blonde woman hurried off. He jogged towards an Audi car parked not far from them.

Just as Alby turned his head, a slap landed perfectly on his cheek. Alby was about to open his lips in protest when Alessia slapped him first.

This is Alessia Mikhayla. No one should just touch it, let alone a foreign man.

"Asshole!" cursed Alessia walking past him.

Alby blinked twice.

Did he just get slapped? Twice? By a woman?

Can not be trusted.

She,she, the story seems nice but mixing gender just ruined the whole thing. It’s a pity you can’t change it, I’m starting to lose interest and I haven’t even finished the first chapter ......
