Sarah shrugged, she was irritated by her dad's stupid idea and her brother's dumb actions. She was shocked to the bones when her dad made that statement but she pretended to keep calm, ignore their stupid chats and unnecessary laughter. It angered her the more that her brother accepted the idea, he was comfortable with the idea and was even grinning like a goat! She wasn't fine with it, jealousy filled her heart. She felt jealous about the kids that was going to replace them now, she felt jealous because her parents attention, love and care will be divided among them and among she and her brother, she felt jealous that her dad didn't even wait for them to die before he and his wife start planning to adopt children. Whosoever the kids are, wherever they are, she concluded that she hates them.
"So...dad, about the children that you will be adopting, how will we get to see them? Will they come over?" Ryan asked still grinning, making Sarah sick. When will this stupid conversatMr Wellspring was thrown aback by the phone call he just got from the hospital. He wasn't happy about the news at all and it was written all over his face."Dad? Are you okay?" Sarah asked"Not too okay baby." He replied, scratching the back of his head. He does that what he gets confused."Okay. You seemed lost, so I decided to bring you back.""Oh, how nice of you. I just thought of some things.""Enough of that Sarah." Ryan moved his gaze from Sarah to his dad, "Dad, what's happening? You said the Doctor wanted your presence at the hospital now because mom said she wants to see you, my point is hope she is alright? Hope there is no problem? Did he tell you anything was wrong with her?""No, he didn't. All he said was...hello, am Doctor Nathan, from the hospital. Your wife is fine but she wouldn't let us administer any medications on her, she insists she must see you before we go further In the treatment so your presence is needed at
To Sarah and Ryan, their dad means everything to them. He means the world to them, dad was their hero, he was strong, he faced his problems without anyone noticing it, tackle the problem fiercely and get them solved most times. Dad smiles all day, he never frowned, he was not quick to judge, he doesn't hit his kids when they do bad things, rather he talks to them in a way that will penetrate deeper into their hearts, he was a good listener, whenever he is having a bad day, he doesn't let it show on his face, when someone offends him, he doesn't transfer aggressions on the next person like mom usually do, dad always have a solution to every problem. Oh! What more would they ask for? Having a father with all these qualities, they were grateful. What would they do without dad? They thought but it baffled them when dad didn't have a solution to the problem on ground. Maybe the problem was more than dad could singlehandedly handle but it baffled them more when they saw dad cry or better
Mr Wellspring looked at the little boy in disbelief, he was shocked beyond words could explain, "You say..say what?" He stammered."Okay sir, you look confused. What exactly happened is that my sister was kept in a place called casket, she slept all day, she didn't even know when people dug the ground and placed her there. My mom was there crying, dad had a long face too, everybody had a non smiling face. I watched everyone surprised, I was told I was little then so I didn't care, I played all day, was carefree, didn't mind though I didn't know why everyone was sad. It came to a point, I missed playing with my sister, I missed when had a teddy bear fight just like some people have pillow fight, she really loved teddy bears her favourite was a big pink one, I missed her sweet voice that made me sleep sound all day so I wanted to see her, I told Dad, he said I couldn't though she is in a safe place, if I asked where she was, he will say she is in paradise that paradise is far bette
CHAPTER 24Mr Wellspring and the assistant receptionist watched as little Adrian made his way happily out of the supermarket. He held the pink teddy bear in the right hand and the fancy bag on his shoulder. He stopped and turn to look at Mr Wellspring inside the supermarket and blew a kiss at him, the assistant receptionist thought it was her so she blew him a kiss while Mr Wellspring waved and smiled. Adrian shook his head in disagreement, he pointed at Mr Wellspring whom the kiss was meant for and blew a kiss at Mr Wellspring again, this time he blew it at his direction. Mr Wellspring laughed and returned the kiss while the assistant receptionist waved and felt bad for not listening to the boys story, all summer was after was money.Mr Wellspring went back to pick the gift he want to get for his sick wife. Seeing Mr Wellspring was alone, the receptionist told her assistant to attend to her customers while she flirt dirty with Mr Wellspring."Sir...sir...you said you wante
"Perfect words." Mr Wellspring nodded and took the card.He walked to the cashier, paid, took a plastic bag and kept what he purchased inside it. He looked ahead of him and saw the receptionist staring at him. When she realized he caught her staring at him, she suddenly became busy with her nails."Have a good day." He greeted and walked past her but got no reply. She simply ignored him."Hmmm. Ladies will always be ladies. Ladies will never change." He chuckled and left the left the supermarket. Walked to his car, opened it, drop the plastic bag that contained what he bought and drove to the hospital. He parked his car properly at the hospital's parking space, halted his engine and alighted from his car. He looked around the premises and signed before entering the hospital. He dressed going to the hospital for so many reasons and on many occasions, when he got sick, they had to call a private nurse to treat him at home.Immediately he entered the hospital,
He was so shocked at the sight. So this is how labour feels like. Oh God, how difficult it is to bring another human into the world. Indeed mother's are heroes, they deserve to be respected, they deserved to be worshipped going through this excruciating pain and not stopping at one child or two children? Wow it's so amazing. He said lost in his own thoughts. Mother's are amazing, Mrs wellspring is also amazing, he imagined the pain of carrying a child for nine months, giving birth is more painful, when the new born baby begins to suck, the pains, the sleepless nights, the sacrifice, mother's are heroes. Not only mothers, mothers, nurses, doctors and other medical practitioners are superheroes too, he concluded. He watched how the woman in labour was dramatizing, when she couldn't take the pain anymore, she smashed the phone she was holding. He watched as she walked into the delivery room in agony, work the way she was behaving, he guessed she was a first time mom. A minute she was c
"Sorry for the interruption Mr Wellspring." Helen apologized."It's fine." He responded."So Mr Wellspring, I have to be on my way, all I want to say is your wife is really lucky to have a responsible man like you who never left her side for once, not every woman is blessed with a responsible husband, am in the shoes. Just relax your mind, I know you are worried about her but she will be fine." Helen touched Mr Wellspring's shoulder in a friendly way and turned to leave.""Thanks so much ma'am. I really appreciate. Seriously am motivated by your story.""You are welcome, anytime you know, you can always reach me. Here is my phone number...." She stopped and they exchanged contacts."Mom!" Helen's children chorused and ran to hug her."Seriously mom, I missed you." The youngest child said and started crying."Shh!" She hushed her, "My darling, remember we are in the hospital, keep your voice low." She said quietly."Let's go mom, I can't wait
Helen looked at her daughter and shook her head, she knew arguing with her is baseless. Helen wasn't a talkative but she knew she couldn't hide the shame, she couldn't die in silence so she had to voice out. Who knows if there was someone that could help her hearing what they pass through or she thought if she tell what she faced to some singles, they will think twice before jumping into a relationship or marriage. Helen's daughter remembered vividly that her mom almost slapped her one night because she spilled what happened in their family to an outsider, the event replayed in her memory, but here her mom was, exposing everything to an outsider. She frowned, it really made her angry."It's alright dear, Mr Wellspring isn't an outsider anymore, he is my friend, he always check on me each time he comes to see his wife, he buys good stuffs for me and paid most of the bill. So you see, he is a nice man and responsible husband too." She explained to her daughter who was fuming in ang
