ALAANA'S POV

I never thought my heart would stop beating when I'm still alive, but when William’s words left his mouth, I swear my world rocked.

"I want Alaana." It rang on my head

Everywhere was silent, I could easily hear the heartbeat of someone close to me. I was confused trying to assimilate what William had just said.

He could have requested something else, maybe asking for land, title, and glory, something worthy of a man who saved the Pack after everything we did to him. But why me.

I looked towards his direction, focusing on his face, looking for any signs of misunderstanding. But William’s face was unreadable, stern, and calm, which only intensified the storm inside me.

Did he really mean it? After all this pain, after all these denials, after crying at night believing I had lost him, did I really want him? Or was this just the moon goddess trying to punish me?.
