ALAANA’S POV

I returned to my room.My breath hitched, and my hands trembled as I grapped the doorknob and opened it. The golden light of the lanterns shone off the stone walls, casting shadows that reflected the chaos within me.

I leaned against the door, as if trying to lock the chaos in my mind. My fingers pressed against the cold wood, and my lips trembled from the moment that was about to happen until he stopped me.

Williams.

The Omega servant.

My Mate.

A desperate, frustrated growl escaped my throat,I backed away from the door, pacing across the room. My Wolf snarled, anxious and dissatisfied. It hurt, how my heart ached for him, how my soul knew and wanted him. Yet, he refused me.

I stopped in front of the mirror, my image a portrait of untamed emotion. My dark hair was disheveled and my golden glow faintly with the remnants of lust in my Wolf's desire.I pressed a trembling hand to my chest, feeling my heartbeat.

Why couldn’t I control myself?

I was never the kind of woman who l

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

ALAANA'S POV I went to the warriors quarter and pushed the door where Rylan was. The soldiers inside seemed surprised at the sudden intrusion, but I ignored their gaze. My eyes, sharp as a hurricane, scanned the room until I saw Rylan seated at a corner.“Rylan”. I called out My breath hitched, my eyes wide and sensual. Rylan stood alone, leaning against his backpack after hours of training, but straightened at the sight of me."Princess Alaana?" he called, startled by my sudden appearance. "What are you doing here? It's late..." He asked."Don't pretend like you care," I said, my voice sharp and steel-sharp. "I came for the truth."Rylan frowned. "What truth are you talking about?"His eyes were burning, fierce and broken. "What did you do to William's?"He opened and closed his mouth. "William's?""Don't pretend to be surprised!" I shouted. "Don't act like an innocent warrior, Rylan. I know. I've known you for a long time now. And enough is enough."Rylan blinked. "Princess Alaana

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

ALAANA'S POV I sat at the edge of my bed, still Weak and full of plains. The soft moonlight flashed through my window cast a silvery glow on my face, failing to warm me from the chill that swept through me. My coat, torn by the rogues, my clothes were laid on the floor, and my knees were badly hurt from the fight I had with the rogues and countless falls. But none of that pain compared to the emptiness I felt inside.I couldn't find my Mate. William Not his scent, not his body, not even a scrap of clothing. Just blood. And dead warriors everywhere. My Mate was out there, struggling with his life. I had no idea where he could be. No clue.I signed deeply and placed both of my palms on my face as I prayed to the Moon goddess that he should still be alive, still alive, still calling me somewhere. Then I heard heavy footsteps close to the door. I immediately became Frightened. The door of my room was forcefully open. Then the enormous body of my Father, Alpha Draven passes through the

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

ALAANA POV I was in a dreamless slumber where I could feel the rhythmic rise and fall of my chest, but the weight on my body completely restrained me from moving. I felt suspended in some alternate reality devoid of any cognition, time, or space. I felt exquisite warmth radiating within every part of my body. My cheeks were caressed making me feel some kind of emotion, and words, soothing yet impactful at the same time were spoken. Even though I had no idea the things those words were describing, they filled me in a way I had never imagined. It appears there exists someone capable of granting the understanding of what my deepest beings need when their love permeates where nothing but compassion dwells. I noticed and breathed in the all-too-familiar scent of cologne, signifying laughter and friendly over the shoulder glances. This scent away my sanity was something that promised not only respite but reassurance that I existed too. Emotions fill my being as I drift into slumb

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

ALAANA POV I stood quietly in the shadows of my room, my heart pounding loudly. It's been two days now and I still haven't heard anything from William. I was terrified and confused.“Why is the Moon goddess punishing me this way? What have I done to deserve this” I said to myself. Two days now, since I stood in front of my Father, and told him that, “If William doesn’t come back, I will be going to the battlefield to look for him.” His only answer was gruff: "If he is truly your mate, he will come back." He had said.I remembered my Wolf growling when she heard those words. The Mate bond was weakening and crumbling. My Father ignored the fact that my Mate was out there struggling with his life, as if he was nothing.I have asked the healer's who attended to the injured warriors. They hadn't seen him also.I also question some of the warriors in case they are hiding anything from me . They too had no idea of where William was.William's name was not listed among the fallen warriors

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER TWENTY

ALAANA POV After Elara left. I wasn't feeling what I thought I would. Relief, joy, happiness—none of it happened. Instead, I had a strange, sickening weight on my chest. My instincts keep telling me that William wasn't safe, that something was wrong.I adjusted my clothes and walked down the corridor that leads to Alpha Draven chamber, my shoes squeaking on the wooden floor. The guards at the entrance stepped aside without question. They probably saw my expression—the urgency and fear. I didn't stop to speak to anyone. Nor did I see them, warriors gathered in the courtyard. My steps quickened, desperate, frightened by the silence that began to ring in my ears. There he was, my father, Alpha Draven, sitting at his desk, examining notes and documents, his silver-streaked hair still as neat as ever, his gaze still piercing, even at dawn. He looked up, a little surprised, but said nothing.I was waiting for him to speak."Father," I said sharply. He raised an eyebrow. "Alaana, you need t

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER NINETEEN

ALAANA POV I woke up the next morning, the flashing lights of the rising sun flashed through my room. The atmosphere was calm, I could only hear the sound of the birds flying around the trees. I adjusted from my bed and looked through the window. Looking at the beautiful bird's, which subside the chaos I felt since the start of the war. I lay in bed for a moment, my heart heavy with anxiety. William would have long been back, and the uncertainty unnerved me. I came down from the bed, I felt a shiver as I placed my leg on the cold floor.I dressed quickly and descended the narrow stairs to the servants quarters. The Pack was bustling, but my mind was entirely focused on William. My heart was pounding, I had different thoughts of William not coming back alive, fear gripped me, I stepped through the door to the servant quarters. The smell of freshly baked bread and the voices of servants filled the quarter."Has anyone seen William?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, but thick

  • My Forbidden Mate    CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

ALAANA POVI stood in the field where the warriors were. My heart was beating loudly, drowning out the sound of drums. I had been waiting impatiently for me to see William since the day they went to the battlefield. When the first line of fighters appeared, cheers rose. Their weapons shattered, their spears raised, their clothes stained with sweat and dirt and blood, but they marched with their heads held high. They were home. They were heroes. My lump was in my throat. I ignored the pain I had felt on my knees as my leg hit the rocks and trees as I was busy, looking around with hopeful eyes. I knew every warrior by name, even those I had never spoken to. But only the warrior's face mattered. Not him. Not him. I said as I looked at the warriors' faces.I was shocked and filled with excitement. As I saw someone with thick dark hair, tall and with a pale soft skin as William. My heart pounding, I took a step forward. I tapped at his back, then he turned, it wasn’t William. I stumbled
