I hated the murmurs more than the envious stares. I could understand why they would envy me, who would not?

Aaron Helios was walking casually by my side with my bag of clothes casually hanging on his back.

Like a school bag. He was a really big dude, just like his father whom he hated. For some reason he would not tell anyone.

They said such harsh filled rumors and spread scandals about me on this campus that I had lost track of and simply stopped paying attention.

I led such a lonely life and Aaron was the only light of my life even if it was forbidden that he knew that.

I felt so dirty and ashamed...and turned on. I always felt so many Lust filled things whenever we were alone together.

Even after I had washed up, he had merely rinsed his face with soap and warm water.

He used a white towel to clean up his recently cleaned shaven face.

Except for the sexy large mass of hair on his head, he was hairless everywhere else.

His beards grew insanely fast too that sometimes, he does not bother shaving and let's it grow.

Nobody dared mess with me when Aaron was around. Everyone on campus gave us a wide berth as we both walked towards his truck.

I small smile slowly played on my lips. They could be envious all they wanted, and they could say anything they needed to make themselves better, it changed nothing.

Aaron had shoved his tongue deep inside me and words or glares was not going to change that.

There was a Benz truck, black and very expensive parked carelessly in front of the girls dormitory.

I knew the vehicle belonged to Aaron as he led me to it. It was the kind of car that suited him. It was big enough and had enough room for his frame.

He casually threw my bags in the back passenger seats as soon as the doors opened up automatically.

He helped me into my seat, even going as far as fixing my seatbelt for me.

I felt like a child that was loved and protected.

I watched as he gently slammed the door before I intently watched him deliberately walk slowly to the other side of the car to get to the driver's seat.

He had such long strides as he marched. Although he did not seem to be in a hurry to go anywhere.

Aaron was a walking paradox.

The drive home was quiet and my heart beat apprehensively as we got nearer and nearer to my false home. I had not been there for years because I preferred to stay at the campus even on holidays.

"You have no reason to be afraid Cassandra," Aaron's heavy bass voice invaded my worries.

"It's that obvious?" I asked with an angry scoff. I hated it when he saw fear in me.

"I am not afraid, I am worried. I don't know what she is going to demand from me this time." I said, referring to the last person that I never believed would ever treat me like a burden.

I was not looking forward to seeing her despite the fact that she gave birth to me.

"Is she the reason why you never cared about coming home for the holidays?" Aaron asked as he drove.

He had on a very bored expression on his face as he drove us home.

A vibration thrummed out and I thought that it was the car but the vibration continued thrumming and I knew that it was not the vehicle.

It was a phone. Aaron's phone. I turned to look at him as he kept driving.

"Your phone is ringing," I told him.

He shrugged. "I know, it's not important." He muttered as he passed a red light.

Aaron was not someone you could force to do anything. If he was not doing it, there was nothing anyone could do about it.

The gates of Helios Mansion loomed far ahead. My anxiety increased and sweat filled the palms of my hands.

There was some sort of occasion going on as the vehicle got closer to the gates. House maids and Servants were going hastily up and down carry shiny silver trays and food cart.

"Of course she is having a party," I muttered and scoffed.

"It's your welcome home party," Aaron announced softly as he eased into the compound.

"She threw a party for me?" I asked in disbelief and worry. "That cannot end well for me."

Aaron smiled and I clamped my thighs together. I loved his smile so much especially when I was the reason behind it.

"She is just showing you that she cares, Cassandra. It's not a big deal. Mothers throw parties for their daughters all the time." He said and parked the car.

I shook my head defiantly. "Not mine. There is a motive behind everything she does. Everything." I replied. What did she want? Why was she being kind?

"You are really wearing your worry on your face. At least pretend so the whole thing will not become awkward." Aaron suggested as he killed the engine and leaned back on his seat.

I sighed dejectedly. "Is it weird that I am not happy to be here? That I don't really see this place as my home?"

"Whatever you feel about this place is valid." Aaron said in a sad tone. "I hate this place too. My mother...she died here in this house and ever since...it's never been the same here for me."

Tears welled up in my eyes. It was the first time Aaron had shared anything personal with me. He was a massive wall of secrets.

"I am glad you told me." I said and reached across to place a hand on his forearm.

His pupil widened and I felt a spark.

"Let's go inside." He said in a husky tone. I nodded wordlessly and wondered if he felt what I felt.

My heart was thudding hard in my chest as I prepared to see my mother.

I sighed.Whatever had joined us together was finally broken, shattered by the one person who was supposed to nurture it.Whatever it was."How interesting," Mother said coldly, watching me. "I expected you to beg. Instead, you look relieved."A cold, venomous laugh escaped me. Mother's eyes widened in shock.I had caught her off guard."What do you have that's worth begging for?" I asked coolly. My question doubled her shock. She took a small step back, as if she could feel the cold in my voice."I gave you an education, a home, a life!" she said sternly, barely holding her temper.I smirked. "Actually, Anthony gave me an education and a home. You gave me life, and you were terrible at it. You're right, Catherine. Without Anthony Helios, you'd be nothing."Her hand flew across my face before I could react. My spineless mother slapped me hard. I rolled with it, the way Aaron had taught me, but it still stung.I turned back to her, my eyes watering from pain. The funny thing was, I nev

The welcome home banner was made into a purple glowing pillar arc. Yuck.Welcome home Cass. She did not even bother to spell my name correctly. Cass?Nobody called me that. I knew that she did not want to be bothered with the whole ceremony of my graduation. This was all just for show. She did not care about my life. All my life, I had been reminded of what a burden I had always been.Where was she?I sucked in a shaky breath. I was really scared of seeing my own mother. "Sit on your study chair, please," Aaron said casually.I was already past refusing him. I was hypnotized. I walked toward him without meaning to.Like a gentleman, he pulled out the chair for me since he was leaning against the table.I sat down and breathed in his scent. A shiver of longing went through me. My toes curled. My heart skipped every other beat.He stood over me, his size taking up most of the room."Breathe," he told me gently. "Slowly, Cassandra. You look pale."I nodded. Before I could do anything else, he lifted me out of the chair and set me carefully on the table. He leaned in close. He was so tall that he barely had to look up at me even when I sat above him."Is this okay?" he asked quietly."Why are you asking now?""Because I want to hear you say it.""Yes," I whispered. It was barely a sound."Louder.""Aaron!""Good." His smile was slow and satisfied. "That's all I wanted."My dorm room was mine alone. Aaron had made sure of that, because he knew how people t

  • My Forbidden Stepbrother    1. Graduation Gift.

I was already hearing the envious whispers from the next three rooms as my evil stepbrother walked in like he owned the air around him."She is so lucky," Rexa's voice carried through the wall. The music had died down and murmurs of excitement filled the dorm.Normally the girls' dormitory didn't allow boys inside. But rules meant nothing here, not when his father had practically built the school. That's right. My arrogant, annoying, impossible stepbrother could walk into the girls' dorm because his father had helped establish it.He should not have come. Why did he come, and why today of all days?"What is she waiting for?" another voice slithered through the wall. "If he were going to be my stepbrother, I'd have him in a heartbeat."I wanted to disappear. Maybe into the sea. Maybe to the middle of nowhere. I hated the attention he brought me.A small, sad spark warmed my stomach while a cold bitterness crashed through the rest of me.I wanted more than their gossip. I wanted him to
