Chapter-13: Clearing Misunderstandings

Alice's POV:

"This isn't your fault. This is my fault. Everything’s been my fault. Since day one it was my fault. You can never be in wrong. It was me who wasn’t able to protect you well,” he whispered, staring into my eyes. Pain, guilt, and shame were evident in his eyes. He was letting me see all those vulnerable emotions. He had never expressed himself like this. He was like a distant cold person, the person who was just my kidnapper, the person who had abducted my sister away and pushed both of us into despair.

But today, he was a vulnerable person who was trying to comfort me and admit his wrongdoings. Was he going to let me go now? Was he going to give my sister back to me?
