~Kiara~

We walked out of the room.

My three roommates, Chloe, Mara and Tinsley were looking really nervous and excited while I just couldn’t wait to get this done with.

The production crew led us to a stunning clifftop area.

And immediately we got there, there were a lot of bright studio lights.

The floor was decorated with a plush red carpet and hundreds of cameras were mounted on cranes, tracking every of our moments.

"Alright, ladies, line up right along the carpet edge!" a male producer with a megaphone shouted.

We were instructed to form a semi-circle after.

A tall man in a tuxedo finally stepped onto the center stage.

He was the main host of Love on the Rocks.

He smiled directly into the primary camera lens while his teeth looked white like he had whitened it for the purpose of this show.

"Welcome, America, to the most scandalous season of Love on the Rocks yet!" the host announced.

"Tonight, twenty beautiful women enter this villa and they all have one single goal which is to capture the heart of our mysterious celebrity Bachelor."

The host turned back to face our lineup, his smile never left his face as if it was directly plastered.

"But this season, the rules are changing." The host's grin widened.

“Over the next six weeks, you will compete for the attention of our Bachelor. You will go on dates, face weekly challenges, and fight to survive each Rose Ceremony. But that is not all."

A dramatic music song came up.

"This season, contestants will have the power to steal date time from each other.”

Murmurs started to go all around but I remained quiet as I listened attentively. I needed to do all I could to get the prize money and save the clinic.

The host raised his hand to maintain the peace of the room as he continued.

“In this villa, time is your currency. Every contestant will earn Date Time Credits based on challenges, audience ratings, and the Bachelor’s responses.”

A giant screen behind him lit up with a glowing counter labeled:

TIME = POWER.

“You do not simply get dates. You spend them.”

“If you want time with the Bachelor, you must earn it. If you want more time, you must win it. And if you want someone else’s time…”

His smile widened.

“You steal it.”

The girls around me immediately erupted into whispers.

"And while connections are encouraged, secret hookups are strictly forbidden. Every contestant will be monitored twenty-four hours a day. Anyone caught breaking the rules could face severe penalties.

However, designated intimacy zones allow private interaction between the Bachelor and contestants under full production monitoring.”

A few girls exchanged nervous looks.

"Throughout the season, America will also be watching. Public rankings will be revealed regularly. And the most beloved contestants will gain advantages. The least popular may find themselves in danger."

"Even more shocking..." He paused dramatically. "Our Bachelor may not remain the only man in this competition. Additional celebrity bachelors could arrive at any point during the season turning the entire game upside down."

The girls practically lost their minds.

"So choose your allies carefully. Guard your heart even more carefully. Because in this villa, anything can happen."

“Now we are moving on to the introductory challenge which we call the Two Minutes of Seduction.

One by one, each contestant will enter a private room inside the villa. You will have exactly one hundred and twenty seconds alone with the bachelor.

Your job is to use your mind, your words, or your body to make his heart rate spike on live television. The girl with the lowest impact will risk immediate elimination tomorrow night."

A collective gasp went through the line of girls.

My jaw nearly hit the floor.

Seduce a stranger on live television?

Mateo definitely forgot to mention this part of the contract.

"And now," the host lowered his voice dramatically. "The moment you have all been waiting for. Let's meet the man of the hour."

Down the long gravel driveway, a black limousine purred toward the red carpet.

The windows were totally blacked out.

Heavy white smoke rolled out of the exhaust pipes while the cameras instantly zoomed in.

The driver opened the back passenger door.

And slowly, a heavy, custom-made leather shoe stepped onto the asphalt.

Followed by a muscular frame in a stunning tailored charcoal suit.

His jacket stretched tightly across his impossibly broad shoulders.

He was easily six-foot-four and was built like a solid wall of muscle.

He stepped fully into the bright studio lights while he ran his hand through his thick hair that was a striking icy-silver colour.

He turned toward our line.

His grey eyes scanned the women, looking completely bored until they locked right onto me.

On seeing him closer with appropriate lighting, everything in the world seemed to stop that moment.

Zane Sterling.

I felt my blood completely drain from my face.

My knees went totally weak. It couldn't be him. It wasn't possible.

Five years ago, Zane was just a regular college hockey player with big dreams.

"Oh my god!" Chloe gasped next to me, her voice shaking.

"It’s Zane Sterling! The captain of the Seattle Vipers! He is a literal NHL billionaire with bastard money! How did the network even afford him?!"

Billionaire? NHL captain?

The words echoed in my brain.

I had spent five years blocking out the sports world entirely.

I didn’t know he was now a famous, ridiculously wealthy superstar bachelor.

Zane didn't look surprised to see me at all.

In fact, as his grey eyes tracked my hair down to my green dress, his smirk grew wider.

He looked like he knew I would be here.

"Cut! Great introductory shot!" the director shouted.

"Ladies, remain in your positions while the Bachelor heads to the seduction room!"

The second the cameras paused, my survival instinct kicked in.

My heart started beating fast. I couldn't do this. I couldn't stay in a house with the man who ruined my heart, let alone try to seduce him on TV…

I broke character and stepped off the red carpet, marching straight toward a female producer holding a clipboard.

"I need to quit," I said. "Right now. I want to opt out of the show."

The producer blinked at me like I had two grown two heads all of a sudden.

“What? Honey, nobody quits on night one. You signed a binding contract."

"I don't care about the contract. I am leaving," I snapped, turning around to find the exit until I heard a baritone voice from behind.

"You aren't going anywhere, Kiki."

~Tinsley~I marched straight into the kitchen and sat down hard onto one of the metal barstools.I dropped my head into my hands, staring down at the scuffed floor tile. I didn’t understand why suddenly I felt teary. I wanted to weep all my tears out but none was coming out at all and it made it so discomforting. I hated that my heart was racing. I hated that just hearing Jun-Kai’s name had made my chest seize up without control and he possibly couldn’t understand all that I was going through because he didn’t feel the same too. I was just a page in a thousand pages, skipping me wouldn’t change anything. A few moments later, the soft padding of footsteps approached, and Kiara slipped quietly onto the stool right beside me.She didn't say anything at first. She just sat there with that gentle look in her eyes.“Is something wrong?” she finally asked softly. Her voice was laced with genuine concern.I forced an unconvincing smile and shook my head. “No, Kiara. Nothing’s wrong. I’m ju

~Kiara~Maya burst out laughing.I couldn’t help but shake my head. “How did we go from Chloe possibly sabotaging me to Idris’s marriage?”“It’s relevant,” Nora argued.“How?” I questioned. “It proves my point.”“Which is?”“That men are suspicious.”I stared at her for a second before clearing my throat. “Can we please get back to the fact that someone may have tried to sabotage me?”Nora opened her mouth, but Maya beat her to it.“Actually, Kiara…” Something in her voice made me look at her.She had that expression people wore when they were about to deliver bad news but didn’t know how to soften it.“What?”Maya hesitated. “If you think what happened yesterday was bad, wait until you hear what happened while you were gone.”My stomach sank. “What happened?”Maya exchanged a look with Nora and Tinsley. Then she sighed. “Chloe end up winning one of the spots.”Since I already knew, I just nodded. “She won,” Maya repeated as though she was expecting far more than the reaction I mana

~Kiara~When I opened my eyes, the pain in my head had dulled to a mild ache.Sitting on the small dining table nearby was a warm prepared breakfast that Zane must have ordered before I even woke up.After I finished eating, Zane insisted on taking me back to the property clinic for a thorough check-up.As we walked side by side down the hallway toward the medical center, l couldn’t stop myself from being nervous, especially since it was broad daylight now, and the cameras were active everywhere.Anyone could see us walking together. But when I tried to pull slightly away, Zane just reached out, took my hand, and intertwined his fingers firmly with mine.He didn't care who saw us or if the cameras caught us. He looked completely unbothered, while I could only pray that whoever was watching wouldn't read too much into it.At the clinic, the doctor ran a fresh series of neurological tests, checked my bandages, and finally smiled. “Everything looks stable, Mr. Sterling. The concussion i

~Kiara~The digital clock on the clinic wall read 12:35 AM as Zane guided me out.Every step I took felt so heavy and I could feel a dull pain deep inside my bandaged head.Zane kept one arm firmly around my waist as he held me close. He walked slower than usual, matching my pace, while his warm body shielded me from the cold.Even in the darkness, I could tell something was different about him.Zane was usually intimidating and very annoying. It was also hard to guess what exactly was inside his head but tonight, his usual control was gone.He looked shaken. The man who normally controlled every room he entered now looked like he was barely holding himself together. As we walked down the pathway toward his private executive suite, I looked up at him, breaking the silence.“How did you even find out I was hurt?” I asked softly.Zane didn't look down at me right away. His eyes stayed fixed on the pathway ahead while his grip on my waist tightened a little as though he was contemplating

~Kiara~My eyes fluttered open as a throbbing pain pounded against my temples. The first thing I felt was a cool drip running into the back of my hand. The second thing I felt was a warm hand wrapped securely around mine.I blinked against the harsh white lights of the clinic room, trying to clear my vision. My head was wrapped in a tight white bandage around my forehead.Slowly, I lifted my upper body up against the pillows, wincing as I fell dizzy.Zane was sitting right beside the hospital bed. He looked really anxious. “Zane?” I whispered, my voice hoarse and dry as I tried to pull my hand away. “What are you doing in here? You have to leave. If the cameras or the producers see you here with me…if anyone finds out—”“Hey, slow down. Relax,” Zane interrupted softly. His thumb gently stroked the back of my hand, grounding me.He didn't let go. “You're safe. I made sure security and the medical staff know that absolutely no one is allowed to enter this room. Nobody is coming in here

~Arabella~We were just standing by the snack bar, laughing loudly and gossiping about the latest reality show drama sweeping through the school, when a sudden, searing heat slammed into my fromt.Hot grease and sticky soda soaked instantly through my favorite designer jacket and my skirt, burning against my skin.I gasped, stumbling backward as the disgusting stench of cafeteria food enveloped me.Something like this had never happened to me in my entire life. I was Arabella, royalty around this academy. People didn't spill things on me and they parted the seas when I walked. I clenched my jaw as I saw a soggy piece of broccoli was clinging stubbornly to my chest, and dark soda was dripping to my skirt. My blood boiled into rage. I snapped my head up to scream at whoever the clumsy idiot was.Standing right there was the newly transferred student. Before my brain could even process how angry I was, my hand shot out on pure instinct.I reared back and aimed a furious slap straight
