CHAPTER 3

The breeze that blew fresh air was visible in the market as Aunt Clara tried to adjust her snacks from getting dusty, her friend Rita had just stopped by her stall to get some of her snacks that she sold. "Congratulations Clara," Rita, her friend, exclaimed.

"Congratulations for what? Did I win the lottery?" She asked as Rita scoffed. "Common, I heard Travis got Married," Rita muttered looking at the fresh and tasty looking snacks. "Why would you congratulate me about that? I mean, that woman gets on my nerves each time I set my eyes on her," Aunt Clara said, fixing her hands on her waist before rolling her eyes.

"Don't say that," Rita muttered.

"I really don't know what Travis saw in that woman," Aunt Clara muttered furiously.

"Why say that?" Rita asked.

"Travis didn't use his head this time, there are a lot of women out there but he chose to end up with someone as poor as he is," she muttered making Rita scoff. "Don't be like that Clara," Her friend insisted.

"Isn't it the truth? Travis is a really handsome man! He could easily get a rich woman if he wanted to,``'' You know Rita, I had always thought that our lives would become better when he marries someone who had the money," Aunt Clara said.

"Do you know that woman is pregnant?" Aunt Clara said, picking the yellow lady snacks out of the racks of snacks she sold.

"Pregnant? Oh, that good news," Rita said happily. "That's not a good news Rita, it's not been long since they got married and she is already pregnant. That child would only add up to our responsibility, we're going to have another mouth to feed in our house and that is terrible," Aunt Clara explained.

"Just forget all of that Clara, I'm sure Travis got everything covered. I guess you should learn to accept her as a family, moreover, I heard she is a nice lady," Rita muttered.

"I would give it a thought," Aunt Clara said.

"Mother, you must be happy that you would become a grandmother soon and I also can't wait to be an aunt," Emerald muttered happily in the kitchen as they made dinner.

"Huh, how can I be happy when we don't even have any money. What are we going to feed that child, especially now that things are quite expensive," Aunt Clara muttered, steering the food, she didn't care that Jessica was present in the kitchen and listening to her harsh words.

"But Mother," Emerald said.

"Soon enough, there would be five of us living in this house. Oh my goodness, hurry up Emerald or dinner might take the whole night if we keep on talking about our added burden." Aunt Clara muttered before adding salt to the food she was making.

Jessica sighed before dropping the onions she was peeling. "Aunty, I'm also going to help you in the market and around the house," Jessica let out.

"What, you're pregnant and practically you don't have to do that because I don't want my nephew or niece to have any complications during birth," Emerald muttered wisely.

"Emerald, thanks for the concern but I promise that I won't be stressed out." Jessica insisted with a smile. "Jessica, would you just listen to Emerald? If your husband finds out, he might get furious with me. It's best that you don't stress," Aunt Clara said, pouring the rice into the hot water.

"I won't tell Travis about it, I promise you that I can handle it,'' Jessica said as her eyes began to get watery from the onions she sliced.  "Don't say I didn't warn you, you asked for this, and I didn't force you. Okay!" Aunt Clara clarified.

*AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS*

"Jessica, what's taking the food long to cook?" Aunt Clara muttered, walking towards the cupboard. She wasn't going to get anything from the cupboard, she only wanted to intentionally push Jessica towards the hot pot she was steering.

"Ouch, my hands." Jessica muttered, painfully the minute her hands hit the hot plate. "Oh, are you okay? What happened to you?" Aunt Clara asked like she hadn't done anything skeptical. Jessica said nothing as a sob escaped her lips,

"You burned your hands, I'm so sorry Jessica! I didn't mean to push you towards the Stove when I opened the cupboard," Aunt Clara lied. "Emerald, get the pain reliever so we can treat the burn,"  Aunt Clara let out.

"No need, I would just finish off the cooking before it get burnt," Jessica said.

it was late evening and the only sound heard at that time was that of the cricket, Jessica was sitting on her matrimonial bed trying to list some things on the book on her lap when her husband trudged in holding a glass of milk.

"Here, have some of this milk love! It would make you and our baby stronger." Travis said, handing Jessica a glass of milk he had gotten for her from the kitchen. She pushed her hair behind her ear before collecting the milk from his grip.

Travis sat close to her on the bed as he watched his wife sip from the cup of milk in her hand. "Rose, you know what?" Travis asked, placing a hand on Jessica's tummy.

"Your father is very excited to see you and your mother and I promise that we are going to love you and take very good care of you," Travis muttered before kissing Jessica's tummy.

"You see love, I'm very happy that we are having a family together and I know that you grew up without a parent figure in your life but I promise that you won't feel the difference anymore!" 'Travis said, staring at Jessica. She said nothing as her hands moved towards his cheeks before caressing them gently.

"I'm very lucky because you are the father of my child," Jessica muttered. Travis smiled before giving her hands a gentle squeeze. "Ouch," Jessica let out a girly hum.

"What happened to your hand?" Travis asked worriedly as he noticed the burn on his wife's hand. "That's nothing babe. I burned my hand this morning while I was cooking," Jessica said. "You know love, you shouldn't push yourself to do any of the house chores! It's not good for a pregnant woman to stress herself out." Travis said, rubbing the burn softly.

"But I can still do little household chores and I won't get tired," Jessica said. "Even so, I hate it when you get hurt," Travis said, staring at the burn before kissing it softly.

"I don't like to see marks like this one," Travis insisted. "Babe, I want to help Emerald and Aunt Clara around the house! Besides, I won't keep up this way," Jessica said. Travis let out a big sigh when he knew it was a waste of time to keep arguing with his wife.

"Well, you should be careful next time. This must not happen again," Travis said, caressing his wife's cheeks before pulling her in for a hug. "Yes, I promise," she said with a huge grin.

  • My Husband Sour Betrayal    EPILOGUE

Travis blinked his eyes before speaking. “I’m sorry that we didn't get to spend enough time with you but please know that we love you so much!” he said dropping the flower on the grave.“Goodbye to you now Aunt Chantelle. Thank you so much for everything because you offered your good life to me so I could have a longer life. I truly love and miss you, Aunt Chantelle!” the little girl said, sobbing hard.“Let's go home!” Travis said to his family after they had dropped the flowers they had all brought. That evening, Rose was dressed up in a very beautiful strapped gown because she was meeting up with Ray. He had given her an address at which she had just arrived in. For a second she had doubted if this was the exact place he wanted her to come to because something had felt off.The light in the whole place was off, and it looked dark. She had thought of calling him but the light turned on showing the decorated area.Rose raised an eyebrow in surprise, she took a moment to glance arou

  • My Husband Sour Betrayal    FINAL CHAPTER

Travis slowly walked towards Jessica, he bit his bottom lip trying hard not to fumble with whatever he had to say. “Jessica, I know that I have caused you so much pain. I wasn't there for our children but I hope that you can forgive me because not for a moment did I stop loving you.” Travis said, rubbing the nape of his neck. “Remember the man who promised to love you all his life? That's still me Jessica, I want you to please give me one last chance for the sake of our children for me to prove what I’m saying is the truth,” he begged, she stared at him for a few seconds. Her hands slowly caressed his cheeks softly before limping and placing a warm kiss on his lips, and right after they hugged themselves tightly. “Rose?” the voice of Ray came gaining her attention.“Ray?” she responded before striding towards where he stood. “Rose, my father and I already talked, and he had told me everything. He told me that nothing had happened between you two and that you were a good woman.” Ra

Ray was eating out with his friend Eric when his attention landed on a familiar face in the bistro.“Be honest with me, are you getting back with Stephanie because of your mother or because you are still very much hurt by what Rose had done?” Eric questioned. Before he could say anything, Blake trudged toward where they are and that had pissed him off. Ray stood up from where he was seating, he grabbed Blake by the collar before punching him very hard in the face.“What are you doing here?” Ray yelled out angrily while his friend tried to pull him away. “Bro take it easy!” Eric said trying to hold him back.“Let's go of me!” Ray said, furiously. Blake on the other hand seemed to be recovering from the punch, he placed a finger at the side of his lips.“I didn't come here to pick a fight with you, I came here to make amends after I noticed you sitting here. I just want you to know that Rose didn't do anything wrong, I have known her to be a good person, and I know that she loves you

  • My Husband Sour Betrayal    CHAPTER 199

After Chantelle had heard what Tessa was saying on the phone. She slowly used another route in the hospital to leave without being noticed, she felt so much anger right now because Claudia had made them look like a fool. She got down from the taxi before running into the church where Jessica was about to get married. “Jessica?” she yelled out the moment she walked into the quiet church to see everyone seated. From the look of things, Rodrigo and Jessica had just stood at the altar to exchange vows. The murmuring from the seated crowd became vociferous. “Chantelle?” Jessica called in shock.“Jessica, you need to know something very important. It's Mitch, she is your missing daughter Sasha!” Chantelle told her but she looked beyond confused.“But how did that happen?” Jessica asked unsure if she had heard well.“I overheard a conversation between Claudia and Tessa earlier. They were talking about how they want to keep Mitch with them, Claudia basically wants to marry Travis so she cou

  • My Husband Sour Betrayal    CHAPTER 198

Their wedding day had finally arrived. Clara was still locked and being monitored by Claudia’s men, her men seemed to have brought breakfast for Clara who looked a mess.“Uh Marcos, isn't today the wedding of Claudia and Travis? Right?” she asked. “Yes, and the same wedding as Jessica and Rodrigo.” Marco had said and that had made Clara chuckle.“Seriously, those women are two crazy fools. Who would have thought that they would be getting married on the same day?” Clara uttered.“Um, what time is the wedding ceremony?” Clara questions further.“From what I heard, it’s happening later in the day by Two PM,” Marcos informed.“Can you please tell me the church where it would be held!” Clara asked, while she slowly pulled the iron from behind without him noticing. He was going to respond but she was quick to hit him with the iron on the head causing him to hit the floor. “Why haven’t I done this since? I’m coming for you Claudia, and I would make you pay for what you did to me!” Clara s

“Mitch, have you been there the whole time?” Claudia asked in a little hint of panic.“No, I just got here because I have been willing to apologize to you because I can be a little hard-headed sometimes. I’m truly sorry about that, and also I would like to thank you for taking very good care of me.” Mitch said with so much appreciation in her voice.“It's nothing Mitch, and I understand where you are coming from but what I really want for you is to be happy all the time because starting from today, I’m your new mummy!” Claudia told the little girl.“Thank you so much again!” Mitch said with a smile.“Alright then, why don't you go to Lisa’s room, you can play with her!” Claudia urged as the little girl nodded before leaving. “See that Clara, the kid almost caught us. Don't you dare do that again?” Claudia said with clenched teeth.“Why are you blaming me, Claudia? I was only borrowing money from you, why don't you just hand me the money so that I could leave!” Clara voiced.Claudia s
