Blondes with blue eyes are the definition of stupid.
Well... It has not been proved not true since most blonde and blue eyed babes really do the stupidest things sometimes. That's why I dyed my hair a permanent red. It'll never wash out. But once it's in the DNA, that can't wash out either... So I am biologically stupid. That is why I ended up in this situation with Daniel Flanagan... My husband. Scratch that. My ex-husband. What happened? He asked me to seduce another man... I am Raees Graham and this is... was my story. * It's our normal routine. I wake up in the morning, make his breakfast, runs his bath and while he has his own breakfast, I go back to take my bath but today, something feels different. Because he had woken me up in the middle of the night and whispered something to me that made me gasp audibly. "WHAT?!" I had yelled, sitting upright. I am a very light sleeper, so if his intention had been to just whisper it and get away with it, it did not happen. "What did you just say Dan?" He looked at me and sat up in bed too. "You heard me Raees. I want you to seduce someone for me." It had to have been a prank, because I just laughed. Mirthless, confused laughter. "What's so funny though?" I stopped laughing almost immediately. "Daniel, you did this some months ago. You asked us to have an open marriage, I refused but you went ahead and cheated. I forgave you..." "But..." I raised my hand and shook my head. "I'm still talking. Then, you said since we couldn't see other people, we should have a threesome. An extra lady in our midst. I didn't agree to that either. And now what? Seduce a man for you? Do you even hear yourself?" "I know how it sounds Raees. Look, I am working towards a trillion dollar deal here and I can't afford to lose it. That's where you come in... You just need to seduce the man for me, just get him distracted and that's all. You don't need to sleep with him, just make him lose his mind over you, that's all." I hissed loudly. "No, and that's final. I'm going back to bed." I had laid back down and he hadn't said anything to me either. Now, the bed beside me is empty and his suitcase is gone. He left for work without having breakfast or packing lunch. How could he ask me to seduce a man? I am his wife for heaven's sake, no sane man or at least, one who loves his wife would request that of her. Trying to get the thoughts of it out of my head, I rose up to work around the house but how long could I keep myself occupied for? I decided to make his lunch and take it to his workplace so he'll have something to eat or something. Maybe I can persuade him out of it. I make him a medium large bento box with tacos, Mac and cheese, snacks and fruits. I leave for his workplace about two hours after, driving down to his company myself. Even though it's small, it's comfortable because it feeds us quite well, and even if we decide to have five children, we'll be able to tend to them comfortably till they make their own ways in life, and being okay is comfortable enough for me. Lavish lifestyles lead to so much trouble... But being just okay is not okay for my husband. Sighing, I get into the elevator that takes me to the third floor where his office is. As soon as the door opens, I notice the absence of his secretary in her seat. I brush it off and walk over to the door, pulling down the handle and opening the door. I walked into an unexpected situation... Daniel is right there at his desk, his secretary dropping some files while he speaks to some visitors in what is an apparent meeting. Every head snaps my way and my eyes widen softly. "I'm so sorry to interrupt. I'll let myself out." "Oh no, Raees, please come in. Let me introduce you to Mr. Cook and his officials." Well, I can't turn back now. I open the door fully and step inside, closing it behind me. "Please, meet my wife." Daniel introduces as he comes to stand by my side, his messy hair falling down to his face as he quickly uses his hand to swipe it back into place. "Nice to meet you. I am Raees, Daniel Flanagan's wife." The supposed Mr. Cook stands up and takes my hand in an elegant handshake before kissing the back of my palms. "She is very supportive of what I do, and is always willing to help. Because of this meeting, I couldn't sleep all night and rushed out of home this morning so I can have my things in order before your arrival. See her? She brought me lunch." "You are a very lucky man. To find such a woman is rare these days." Mr. Cook comments, smiling my way. "You don't need to say it twice. Raees, please give me a minute. We are almost done here." "Of course not. She can have a seat while we finish up, she is welcome here. I can't possibly ask you to chase your wife out, that will be mighty rude of me." "If you insist then." He motions me to the empty couch which I take wordlessly. As the minutes wear on, I can't help but listen and kind of understand what they are talking about. Apparently the trillion dollar deal that he had mentioned in the midnight. "We can't let him have it. He already has everything he could possibly need. I want this deal and I must get it, once I do, I will fulfill my part of the contract so well they will question his integrity..." Daniel stresses, trying to pass a point to Cook and his other officials. The deal seems to mean a lot to him, seeing as his hair keeps falling and he'll return it in place with the same flair as he's using to argue. I tear my eyes away from his face and turn to my phone. I can't give in to such an absurd request. "Thank you very much for coming here and listening to my ramblings. I hope to hear from your boss." "Sure Mr. Flanagan. Mrs. Flanagan, it is once again delightful to make your acquaintance. Who knows, your husband might get this deal because of your beauty?" He winks before he leaves with his entourage. Daniel collapses into his chair before speaking. "I don't need your lunch. If you can't do something as small as help me secure a deal, then I don't understand if you have any ounce of love for me." I said it at the start... Blonde and blue eyed is the worst combination, makes them stupid... That's when I stupidly said, and now, regretfully... "Fine. I'll help you out. A trillion dollars is a lot of money and I know it means a lot to you. So I'll seduce whoever it is for you."How is Reid Flanagan the same as ‘whatever’ Caddel?“You?” I mutter loudly, pointing without meaning to.He raises one eyebrow while Mum comes into the living room, her brows furrowed. “Do you know him?”“What?” I ask rhetorically, watching all three of them looking at me. “No, not physically or personally or anyway at all, I mistook him for someone else for a second.” I muster the best sincere smile I can pull and hold out my hands to my date, “Sorry to keep you waiting. Raees Graham, nice to meet you.”He smirks in his signature, slightly teasing way and takes my hand in a fierce handshake. “Reid, Reid Caddel. Lovely to meet you ma’am, you look very stunning.”I take the compliment as far as it could go, which is the pit of my stomach. “Well, shall we? If we stay any longer, my mum will keep you here for much longer.”He chuckles. “Sure.” He takes my hand and puts it across his elbow. “We’ll be off now. I promise to have her back before three pm.”Curfew or what?I roll my eyes with
To say what happened the next day was surprising is totally an understatement. Guess what I woke up to? A full house. My parents are running a party, and they invited the guests overnight.Me saying yes to being the one running the company, so my Dad can retire was taken so well that neither of my parents took it silently, before I knew it, my Dad was telling his siblings and family, so was Mum, at first, I learnt from Mum that they had just called to let them know that “…I was back home, you have no idea how much we all missed you so we just wanted to tell them you were back at home.”I raise my eyes at that, being woken early in the morning with my Mum holding a pretty large package, handed it to me and bullied her way into my room that still needs a little work but it’s doing pretty well.“So while on the call to Grandmother Pasha, we decided to make it a party, you know, have everyone down to meet you again, have them listen to your Dad resign.”I sigh in realization at that. “Ah,
After leaving behind everything that Daniel had ever gotten me, down to the tiniest piece of underwear he paid for, all I had left were my own personal belongings and my car. That had been a gift from my elder brother back then, back when I was not so obstinate about marrying Daniel, which has come down to be a total mistake now.Driving through the winding roads leading to the exquisite areas of this entire city, as I get closer and closer to my parent’s estate, my heart keep beating faster and faster, wondering if I am making a mistake here. I could just disappear on what I’ve saved up over the years and move to another country or something. Maybe reach out to my elder brother and let him know everything that has happened and he should let my parents know…As all of these thoughts cross my head, I get closer and closer until my car comes to a stop in front of the gigantic gates.I take in a very deep breath before pressing down on my horn, and within ten seconds, the automatic gates
To say that I was exhausted when I got back to my own room would be a rigid understatement. And while I am truly exhausted from running through halls, got off on the wrong floor and had to take the emergency stairs to the floor below, all the while dressed in only a white bathing robe, is my embarrassment coating my face. I didn’t need to look myself in the mirror before I know I was currently beet red.I had no time to collapse into the bed, but I had just enough time to put on the clothes I had discarded the night before, since I had absolutely no idea where the sexy black dress from the night before had disappeared to. It’s all going to be fine, I just need to…My phone rings and I pick it up within a heartbeat.“Hello?” It’s Daniel.“Yes?”“I am waiting for you outside, come down within five minutes or you’d have to make your way home by yourself.”Its more than enough time.I sigh heavily remembering that the jerk floors above had not promised to keep that secret, and that he alm
Oh my goodness! That was the first conscious thought that crossed my mind as soon as I opened my eyes the next morning. Completely naked save for the thick blanket someone in particular had been gentlemanly enough to cover me with after last night’s rendezvous.Outside is as bright as it could possibly get and I risked a glance to my side, it’s ruffled, and touching it, it’s warm to the touch. I reached out to grab my phone at the head of the pillow and click it on, it’s a few minutes past eleven am.I breathed a sigh of relief. Even though it came with its consequences, and sacrifice as I would love to call it, I achieved my goal. I sit up in bed just as the adjacent door opens and Reid comes out of the bathroom, half naked.Waterdrops clinging to his perfectly sculpted abs, his pecs having the perfect balance and his muscles giving me an outright wink to lay down and worship them, I swallow.“You’re awake.” He says more of a statement than it is a question.I don’t bother replying
The episode went by with the man scuffling away as soon as Reid lets go off of his arm."Hope you're not hurt?" He asks as me soon as he straightens up."No, thank you sir."He raises one eyebrow. "Reid. Reid Flanagan... You are?""Oh sorry. I am Raees Graham, lovely to meet you. Thank you so much for saving me from that bully.""It's fine. Looks like your date is running late."The brain seems to work faster than my heart because the words out of my mouth are not reflexive. "I'm not expecting anyone, I just got out of a bad breakup, we met here so I was just letting go of the memories we shared."Reid seems to buy it because he nods softly. "Well, the end of old relationships are the start of new ones. Would you like to have a drink with me tonight?"Am I really seducing this man or is he seducing me right now? "I won't mind. Moreover, I can't say no to the man who just rescued me."He chuckles and takes my forearms in his and walks me into a more secluded part of the bar, the light
