Chapter 01

A woman in a wedding dress torn and stained with blood was running in an empty house crying and screaming in fear.

She was being chased by a tall man, big muscular, and wearing a black mask. The man chased while holding a very sharp knife and was covered in blood.

He had used the knife to stab the woman's back so that her dress was stained with her blood.

The woman's steps suddenly stopped because there was no more door to another room to save herself.

“Ha ha ha.” The man laughed and stopped in his tracks. “Finally, there is no longer any way for you to escape from me. Now, get ready to die by my hands!”

“No! I beg you don't kill me!”

The woman knelt and begged him not to be killed. However, the man would never forgive her.

The evil man then ran quickly to immediately kill the woman.

“AAAKKK!”

Adaline Herbert woke up from his sleep screaming in fear. It turned out that what had just happened was her nightmare.

Her scream made her husband, Alex William startled and immediately woke up from sleep.

“Oh, my God! Honey, what happened to you?”

Adaline hugged Alex tightly. The nightmare that felt so real made her feel so scared that she cried.

Seeing his wife suddenly crying after waking up made Alex know that his wife must have been having a nightmare. He then hugged Adaline back and let her burst into tears in his arms.

A few minutes later, Adaline's Mother and Brother came because they heard Adaline's screams.

“Adaline, what happened to you?” asked Mrs. Caroline Herbert, Adaline's Mother. “We heard your screams.”

Adaline slowly took off the hug from Alex after that looked at her mother and younger brother with tears still dripping.

“Mom, I had a very terrible nightmare. In that dream, I was being chased by the Robertson family's only son who was trying to kill me.”

The Robertson family were the enemies of the Herbert family. They consist of a married couple named Alvin Robertson and Brianna Robertson.

The Robertson family started a feud early for betraying the Herbert family.

Eighteen years ago, Alvin and Brianna were favored employees of Mr. Elmeer Herbert, head of the Herbert family. However, they corrupted the Herbert Group Company, killed Mr. Elmeer, and burned the company's office.

They did that extremely evil act because they wanted the Herbert family's fortune. This lands them in prison for life.

“Oh, my God! Maybe the dream is a warning from God so that we are vigilant and have very tight security in our house,” said Chris Herbert, Adaline's Younger Brother. He is eighteen years old and still a senior high school student.

“Mommy thinks with you, Chris. The Robertson family's only son must feel quite a grudge against us. So, he will avenge his parents.”

“The Robertson family, who are they?” asked Alex who did not understand the discussion of his wife's family.

Chris then explained about the feud with the Robertson family.

When the Robertson family betrayed the Herbert family, their son was only six years old like Adaline. After that, the Herbert family had no idea where he had been.

So therefore, Herbert's family felt very confident that he would come to avenge his parents against them now that he was an adult.

Alex was immediately shocked when he heard that his wife's family had very evil enemies.

“Honey, Mommy, Chris, you all don't need to be afraid and worried. Now I've become son-in-law in this family. So, I will always protect you all from the evil Robertson family.”

Mrs. Caroline, Adaline, and Chris smiled happily at Alex's words.

Alex and Adaline are newlyweds who just got married yesterday. They met while studying at the same university and have been in a relationship for five years.

They come from a very wealthy billionaire family. Since one year ago after graduating from college, they have got positions as leaders in their respective family companies as successors to their parents.

Adaline wants to stay with her mother and brother before she and Alex have children. After they have children, then they will buy a private house.

Now they are enjoying their vacation from work because their parents gave them a week for their honeymoon.

“Thank you, honey,” said Adaline with a smile while hugging Alex. “Now I can breathe easy because of your presence.”

Alex smiled too.

“Alex, Adaline, now you can go have breakfast. All the food is already on the dining table.”

“Okay, Mom. Let's have breakfast together!”

“Mommy and Chris have breakfast. So you two can have breakfast together.”

Mrs. Caroline then went to the second floor to relax, Chris went to school, while Alex and Adeline went to have breakfast together.

“ADALINE!”

Fifteen minutes later, suddenly Mrs. Caroline came up to them screaming for Adaline with tears. She then plopped down after arriving behind Adaline's chair.

This made Adaline and Alex who were relaxing at the dining table after finishing breakfast immediately shocked.

“Gosh! What happened to you, Mommy?” Adaline asked.

“Mommy just got a call from Garuda Hospital. They gave me the news that Chris had an accident and is now lying in a coma in a very critical condition,” sobbed Mrs. Caroline in a very weak voice.

“OH, MY GOD!” shouted shocked Alex and Adaline simultaneously.

Adaline's tears immediately fell when she heard the bad news that had befallen her brother.

They then went straight to Garuda Hospital which was not far from their house.

When they got there. Mrs. Caroline and Adaline kept crying seeing Chris lying in a coma with his body completely wrapped in bandages.

While Alex, stood looking at Chris with great sorrow. A few minutes after that, he got an important message that must make him immediately go to take care of his work.

“Mommy, honey, I'm sorry because I have to go to the office now. I have important work to attend to.”

“Go on, honey, it's okay. Mommy and I can go home by taxi.”

Alex touched Adaline's cheek and kissed her gently. After that walked away to immediately take care of his work.

It turned out he was lying. He went to prison, not to his company office. He then arrives at the inmate visiting room with a smile on his face.

A visiting room with a glass window divider between the inner room for prison inmates and the outer room for visiting. There is also a telephone as a tool for them to talk.

Shortly after that, a couple of married prisoners came because Alex wanted to see them.

“Hello, Mommy, Daddy,” said Alex with a smile of happiness. “Today I feel very happy because I managed to injure Chris Herbert to lie in a coma in a very critical condition.”
