CHAPTER 5

LILIANA POV

I was panting hard after I gave my sweet release. I didn't mind the splash of water that was wasted from the tub as I moved faster up and down in my husband's lap.

I can't believe, I was able to make my husband cum with that.

"I'm so proud of you love, you made me crazy a while ago," he whispered as we cleaned our bodies with a soft towel.

I closed my eyes and tried to hide my expression from him. I don't know why I feel this way, I shouldn't be shy. We are husband and wife in the first place. I have to please my husband.

I can't even look at him right now.

He walked out of the bathroom to wear his clothes and I followed him.

I was behind him and I could see his broad shoulders. He was already my husband, I can do anything I want to his body, but here I am, admiring his figure.

His phone rang and he picked up the call. He walked to the balcony of our hotel room. It could be his father, brother, or his business partner. I always respect his privacy.

I put on my nightgown and comb my hair. I stare at the mirror. A few months ago, I still looked pale. Now, my skin color was better than before.

I turned to look at our room and the television caught my attention. I was pulled near the television to turn it on. I hope to watch interesting shows tonight. I reached for the remote control and scan the channels until I arrived at a news channel.

There was breaking news at this moment. The reporter speaks in English, reporting for an international platform.

Someone was murdered in Hai Phong, an hour ago. I focused on the video and details until they flashed the name and the picture of the victim.

I almost scream in fear and the remote control fell from my hands.

I recognized the man, it was Mr. McKinley. John McKinley, a 57-years-old businessman was here in Hai Phong Vietnam with his grandchild for a short vacation.

I stood up and ran going to my husband.

"Xavier! Xavier!" I called for him. I can feel my hands turn cold. I feel nervous and I want to freak out.

We just met and talked to Mr. McKinley early this afternoon. And now, he was dead.

"Love, what's wrong! Are you alright?" He turned off his phone to calm me.

"You need to see this," I pulled him inside and let him watch the news on TV.

"It was Mr. McKinley, Xavier. He was found dead inside his hotel room an hour ago. Someone murdered him," my voice is trembling and my hands are shaking.

"Calm down Lily, relax," he went to the table to pour some water into the glass and let me drink.

I was trembling right now. I can't believe the old man was dead.

"The police are still investigating as to the identity and motive of the suspect," The report says.

Xavier turned to look at me and led me to a couch.

"Mr. McKinley has so many rivals in business before Lily. He had death threats from his rivals whom they say were members of a Mafia group. I am not surprised anymore, it happened to him. He was focused on expanding his businesses before, that he doesn't care anymore even if he would destroy and ruin other businesses," my husband told me.

"But Xavier, still he shouldn't die this way."

Xavier pulled me into a hug. My husband was trying his best to calm me.

There was a follow-up report on the TV and I watched it again. The reporter says that the granddaughter of Mr. McKinley was safe, and the suspect didn't hurt the child while she was still sleeping in her bedroom.

I pity the child, she was too innocent. I know she was deeply in sorrow after the loss of her grandfather. It was just a few hours ago, when they were busy visiting beautiful places in this City, and now his grandfather is dead.

"I hope the police can look into the CCTV of that hotel. How come the suspect was able to come in with a gun?" Xavier commented.

"Xavier, I think we need to go back to Da Lat tomorrow morning. Right now, I feel scared. Look at them, look at Mr. McKinley, the suspect was able to enter the hotel straight to his room and killed him that easily. What if... what if... my-my brother Philip, would find us and kill us too," I stuttered.

"Lily, my love please calm down. I am here to protect you. Alright, I know you are scared right now. Tomorrow, we will go back home Ok. Please calm yourself and have a rest. I will call the security of this hotel to assure our safety," he grabbed the telephone beside our bed and talked to the hotel management.

I am trying my best to calm my nerves. It was just a few hours ago, and everything was fine. Now here I am, worried and scared as hell. If it happened to Mr. McKinley, it could also happen to us.

It took me two hours before I was able to sleep. I don't know what time my husband slept, the last time I saw him was reading a book on the couch.

He told me he will not sleep and will keep his eyes open to protect me.

It is morning, I look at my watch and it is seven in the morning. Xavier was on the balcony, enjoying his coffee while talking to someone over the phone.

"Alright, keep safe and tell me if you are back in the Philippines," I heard him before he let go of the call.

He smiled and approached me to kiss me on my lips.

"Were you able to sleep last night?" I asked.

"I slept for two hours at dawn. I made sure that you were safe the whole night love. As I promised," he replied.

The butterflies dance in my stomach again. It was so nice to know that I have a caring husband who can stay awake the whole night to keep his eyes on me.

"Thank you, Xavier." That was all I can say. No words can express how glad I am to have him as my husband.

"Sorry, I was able to hear you speaking with someone over the phone, is that Steven?" I decided to get up from bed. We need to go back to Da Lat today.

"Yes, he needs to go back to the Philippines. He needs to check on his factory," he answered.

"How are you now, Love?" I can see how worried he is.

"I am fine Xavier. I just can't help to worry about our safety," I sat beside the table to eat something.

"Good, we need to prepare now. It's time to go home," he said.

Around 9 am when we finally board our private plane and went back to Da Lat City. Before the plane landed, I can see from up here our resort and our mansion. Honestly, I feel safe in this place. Xavier set up his security system, with CCTV all over the place, as well as a few of his men.

The attendants greet us on our arrival.

I can't wait to start my day in my office and to manage our business again. That is what I prefer to do.

One of the security personnel arrived. He was panting and Xavier approached him.

"Sir, I am glad you are home. We have a problem." That sounds alarming, I went closer to listen to him.

"There was an intruder who tried to break in. We did our best to chase him but we fail. It seems that the intruder was looking for something," the security personnel told Xavier.

My eyes went wide, there was someone who tried to get in. Is that one of my brother’s men? Did they find me?

“What?” Xavier approached the man as if he wants to punch him for their negligence.

“Sorry sir,” the man replied.

"Review all the CCTV and don't stop until you will recognize his face. We need to find him," my husband yelled.

I had never seen him as angry as this before.
