Chapter Five

Lily: 

Seeing the face of my brother, drove all the worry and stress that I had been through that night, they flew through the window and my hands just went to his neck hugging him while I murmured the words, "I missed you."

"I missed you, princess," he said pulling me into the living room but Father's face was without emotions, I knew that he was mad at me but Zeus would never get mad at me, even if I committed the worst crime, he will still take side with me and act like I did nothing wrong but not father, I can't get away from him 

"Where the fuck have you been?" Father growled with clenched teeth. 

I looked at him terrified as father could be really scary when he is mad, I grabbed the hand of my brother, hiding behind him to protect me. 

"Answer me, Lily, and don't freaking hide behind your brother because you are not getting away from this." I couldn't tell where I have been and it's way too complicated even if I want to tell. Where will I even start, telling Father that my super handsome boyfriend sold me to those hybrid men and was safe by the vampire Lord, and on our way here, rogue attack us, no way, that means completely locked up in this building and I am not ready to live that kind of life. I want my freedom even though sometimes freedom might lead to getting into trouble. 

"Father..."

"No Zeus, stay off this, let this naughty sister of yours answer me, did you know how worried I was when I pulled that door of her room and found out that, she was not there? I called her number several times, and it didn't go through, after the first ring. Do you know all the things that I have imagined might have happened to you, for those hours I couldn't reach you? And the thought that you are out there all on your own, fine, I know that we are in the human territories, but that doesn't mean there are no lone wolves, vampires, or any other dangerous creature, in this territory. Lily, so many ideas run in my head and it makes me get scared, and I don't even know if you are alive, do you know how that feels?" Father's last words were that of pain, I saw sadness and fear in his eyes, I know that look had always been there since we lost Mother, he wasn't that proud Alpha who thinks he could Protect everyone, he is down. So many times, he blamed himself for not being a strong Alpha, and he kept saying if he couldn't protect Mother, he couldn't protect the Pack, that was one of the reasons, father transit his power to Zeus, and I am sure brother could do it perfectly. 

"I am sorry," I apologized, now guilt had filled my heart. "I am sorry, I wanted to go out but I don't know how to tell you." 

Father clenched fist hit the table beside him, "Come on Lily, you know that I will never force you to stay, if you had told me, I could only asked you to go with the guards not rule it outright that you are not leaving." He yelled, "Lily, I raise you and your brother and I promise your mother that I will protect you, even if I can't protect her but how will I be able to do that if you don't let me? I can't survive it if something happens to you. I know Zeus, could protect himself not you, you don't even have your wolf yet. Maybe, if you have your wolf, I would be confident that you will be fine." I shut my eyes, father was right, he wanted what was best for me, all he wanted was to keep me safe, if that fellow hadn't shown up when those monsters were about to devour me, what would have been left of me?

"I am sorry," I hiccup because I was already crying feeling bad for my misdeed. 

Father sighed, "I thought something had happened to you when my men returned with your phone covered with mud, so I had to call your brother." I tilted my head to my brother who was standing beside me, I could imagine the speed my brother would take driving here with this heavy downpour. 

"I am sorry." That was the only word I could form from my lips. Father turned his gaze to avoid my tears, I knew my tears broke his heart, so I grabbed my brother's hand to apologize, but he beat me to it. 

"Are you unharmed?" I shook my head before he pulled me into a hug for the second time, his heart was thudding, I understood he was worried, I missed my brother and father's warm, just a few hours away from my father and months away from my brother who was now the Alpha of Forest Pack, makes me knows the value of family, I am never going to disobey again. 

"Come here..." Father's voice came from behind me and brother freed me, I walked slowly to him and he hugged me as well, gesturing his hand for brother to come to him as well, brother just chuckled and walked towards us as we hugged. "I am sorry," I murmured as my father and brother freed me. He strode my hair. 

"It's fine, don't just do that again."

"I promise," I said inhaling loudly.

"It's alright, you will be leaving with your brother to the Pack." 

"Father, I told you, I am not going to do it again. Why do you have to punish me this way? I can't leave my friends, my school..." I grabbed my brother's hand. "Please Father, I do not want to go back to the Pack..."

Zeus grabbed my face, "Baby, look at me, no one is punishing you because of what happened, in a few weeks, you will be having your wolf and you know you can't shift in the city, you know humans could be skeptical and we can't risk you shifting here and you have to find your mate."

Mate? Fuck! I didn't even remember that thing, most girls found their mate at seventeen immediately after they got their wolf. I knew my wolf was coming late because I was almost eighteen, in a few months I would be eighteen but I hadn't met my wolf and my mate. Fuck, I do not want to be mated to anyone before I was excited about meeting my wolf and then letting that asshole claim me but now, all those are in the past. 

I am no longer interested, in finding my mate, was it because I am scared that he will turn out an asshole or the fact that my heart and mind drift for that fellow that save me, "Adrian...." I murmured his name as a sweet smile curved my lips. 

"Father, I do not want to talk about my mate."

"You have to talk about it, after your shifting, it's either you meet your mate which I will prefer because I do not want you to be up for claiming. You know being an alpha female, you are prone to claiming and that might be too dangerous because you might end up with someone that you don't love. After all, other Alphas might intercept the one that might have listed their name under you. Although you have nothing to be scared of, Rayvan had made his intentions..." Hearing the name Rayvan riled me and I clenched my fist. 

"Father, I do not want to be Claimed by Rayvan." Brother's eyes move in my direction as surprise is written on their face, I have always rooted for him and everyone in my family knows I love Rayvan. "And why is that?"
