Chapter 2

She felt the cold, and her body was shaking like a leaf in the cold wind, while she dreamed that she was standing in the rain in the darkness of the night, while from a distance she heard the well-known voice of her friend...

" Anna...“, Barely gathering her strength, she called her name, feeling someone’s hands caress her hair and a familiar voice spoke.

“I’m here, everything will be fine...” Then she falls back into unconscious sleep.

She had the feeling that a huge light bulb was pointed at her face, unable to open her eyes, and her eyelids themselves were heavy, but after a few difficult attempts, she forced herself to finally see, realizing that the sun, which was beating through the window panes, was right in her eyes, it was very strong.

She was still in the hospital bed receiving the infusion, feeling that she was not alone when the door suddenly opened and Ana appeared there, while the familiar person who carried her in her arms, the last thing she remembered, remained to guard the door.

She thought she was hallucinating until she felt her friend, all in tears, hug her tightly.

“I thought this week would never go by,” she heard her say.

“What do you mean?” She asked quietly.

“Honey, you’ve been in a coma all week, it’s a miracle you’re alive, considering you’re an omega, which I don’t believe right now, you’re recovering like an Alpha woman!” Anna said through tears and laughter, trying to cheer her up, even though Sinn felt that her friend was hiding a lot from her.

Her wolf was now quite well and her strength was returning faster and faster, when she abruptly pulled the needle out of her hand, straightening up in bed, at which Anna jumped, although she knew her temperament very well.

Out of the corner of her eye, she checked Beta at the door, then came closer to Anna.

“Spit it out”! Her voice was serious, and Anna knew that there was no joke with her in such a mood.

“I shouldn’t be here, but Derek secretly let me see you all this time because if Alpha King Tyron found out that anyone but him visited you, I don’t know what would happen, regardless of Derek and I being Mates!” She spoke in one breath, while Sinn looked at her with raised eyebrows, not satisfied with her answer.

“I saw your father die,” she looked at Anna sadly, to which she bowed her head, sighing.

“My father was never a good man, he only wanted power, and the reason why my mother is dead and you are here.” Her voice trembled.

“He did the same to her as he did to you, I know because I heard everything, even though I was a child.” She whispered.

“I see that there is much more to it than you are saying, but I will leave it to you, to tell me yourself, when you are ready, and if it means anything to you, I am sorry, regardless of everything, and thank you, for, saved me, as always.” She finally hugged her friend, grateful that she was by her side.

Anna slowly backed away, coughing, which didn’t go unnoticed by Sinn, who did the same.

“It’s not all my fault, although I knew what he was planning, I didn’t know when, until Derek showed up and said that the Alpha had ordered them to go after our pack immediately, and...”

“Wait, wait a minute!” She interrupted her, now already confused, in disbelief.

“How long have you and Derek been together?” She asked

. “About half a year.” She said, spreading her arms as if it was the most normal thing in the world, which it probably was, but not for Sinn, who had no idea about it.

“Well, it’s not like I could have told you anything in this situation, besides, regardless of the size of the property, and the fact, that we are neighbors, it’s only logical that we met.” She justified herself.

“Like it makes sense that an Alpha just attacked our pack out of the blue, only killing a few, how convenient.” Sinn was sarcastic.

“The Alpha King is a Lycan, he has a lot more feeling than any werewolf.” Anna justified.

“I know what he is.” She answered calmly.

“I saw him.” Her voice trembled for a moment.

“The fact that you and his Beta are seeing each other and all, which I won’t think about, speaks for itself.” She said, making Ana’s cheeks blush.

“What do you mean?” She asked her, confused.

“I think he was able to smell me in contact with Derek, as he sensed that I was in danger, even though he didn’t mark me, because he is a Lycan, and a king.” Her voice took on an angry tone.

Anna looked at her with burning eyes, in disbelief, while she smiled, shaking her head and running a hand through her hair. ”

The bastard knew where I was the whole time and never bothered to find out...” She paused, as her voice began to tremble.

“I don’t think so Sinn, he wouldn’t worry like that...“, but she cut her off with an angry voice.

“I haven’t smelled his scent here yet, has he visited me even once, this week?” She asked in an empty voice, catching Ana speechless, after a long time

“I saw it on his face and in his eyes.” Her voice sounded like ice, while Anna looked at her sympathetically, unable to utter a word, knowing well that expression on her friend’s face, an expression that did not forgive.

Suddenly, Derek appeared at the door, nodding his head, as a sign of respect, calmly saying “Luna”, while he mind-linked Anna to leave the room.

She jumped as if all the devils were chasing her, looking towards Sinn, worried, because after all, even she did not remain indifferent, sensing his proximity, while heavy footsteps echoed through the corridor...
