"You have me now. Stop imagining and have me to your satisfaction," he responded.

"I will suck you like a lollipop," he said and slid his hand into his pants.

"You are free," he said, kissed his temple, and pushed his hand into his pants.

Their love waxed stronger until that evil day when the earthquake triggered a landslide. He escaped but Denise could not and was buried under it. The incident left an ever fresh wound in his heart and it affected his relationship with the people around him.

Meanwhile, his clerk and secretary, who worked closely with him, saw things differently. They believed that he was a nice boss. He had never harassed them sexually like other bosses do and often spoiled them with gifts. Unknown to them, he was gay.

"My bad!" He exclaimed and hit his hand on the table.

Nevertheless, he took a deep breath and said, "I hope he would not be scared to come back."

The Local Bar And Resort

I arrived at the gate and met a guard and a man. Their faces were expressionless and I did not know what to expect.

All the same, I greeted them respectfully and made my purpose of visit known, "Good evening, Officers. I need a job."

Unlike the officers in the mining field who do not love their job and master, they attended to me officially.

"That is good. Can I have your application?" The guard requested.

I handed my application to him and he perused it. Thereafter, he looked at me and said, "I will hand it over to the manager. He will invite you if he needs you."

I have heard that severally and I took it in my stride.

"Thank you, Officer, for informing me," I appreciated him and walked away.

I could not say what happened. I was some meters away when he called out to me and I turned.

"Kindly come back," he requested and I began to walk back.

When I got to the gate, he explained, "My colleague just informed me that one of the janitors had been sick and absent from work. The management may need a relief staff."

I was thrilled to hear that and it flashed across my face.

"I see," I responded and waited for his instructions.

"Come with me," he said to me and led the way.

I followed him to the manager's office and saw a man in his late twenties. After the greetings, the officer explained why we were there and handed my application to him. I held my breath and watched him as he read through it. Afterward, he looked up. My heart sank into my stomach while he gave me a searching look.

"Why are you specific with your position? What happens if you are needed in the other departments?" He asked me.

"I beg to leave," the officer said and he excused him.

At that point, I changed my mind and resolved to take up any job.

"I can rewrite the application, Sir," I said quickly.

He was pleased with my decision and advised me, "That is good to hear. Take this paper, sit down on the couch, and use the center table," he stretched the paper to me and directed me to the couch.

I was pleased with the gesture because it saved me the trouble of going back home to rewrite the application and return it.

"Thank you for this, Manager," I appreciated him and collected the paper.

"Nevermind. Just write an application for a job, and it suffices."

"I got it, Manager," I said, sat on the couch and began to write.

I could feel him wrapping me up with his eyes. I was uncomfortable and wished that I could see Hendrick and ask him questions about that.

"Do that quickly. I wish to attend to you before I leave for the bar," he informed me.

I increased my pace and hurriedly answered him, "I will, Manager."

In a jiffy, I was through and handed the application to him. He glanced through it and said, "Come with me at once. You will get the appointment letter before you leave."

"I am grateful, Manager," I said happily and waited for him to lead the way.

He led me to the other staff members and introduced me as one of them. I was delighted to know that I was a permanent staff and not a relief one

"His name is Julius," he informed them.

They smiled genuinely and welcomed me, "We are happy to have you, Julius."

The girls among them giggled to get my attention.

I smiled back at them and answered them, "I am happy to be one of you. Thank you for having me."

"Ensure that you help him to find his footing. Did you get me?"

"Yes, Manager," they answered him simultaneously.

He returned to his office, and one of them, a man in his mid-twenties, said to me, "Come with me."

I followed him and the others returned to work. He led me to the Cocktail and Mocktail Section and I saw different kinds of alcoholic drinks.

"Have you worked in a bar before, Julius?" He asked me politely.

"Not at all," I answered him. "What is your name, please?" I asked him.

"I see. I am the supervisor but my name is Andrea."

"It is all right, Supervisor," I said and waited for him to begin his work.

He looked into my eyes for a while and gave me a friendly smile.

"You can call me Andrea," he said.

"I got it, Andrea," I said and focused on him.

He introduced the different drinks and their uses to me and I was following with rapt attention.

"You need to write it down, or you will forget everything," he pointed out.

I looked around in search of writing materials but found none.

"I can get one for you," he volunteered and walked to the store.

He returned quickly with a booklet and a pen and handed them to me. I collected them and appreciated him.

"I will take the lecture again. The difference between cocktail and mocktail is simple. Mocktail drink is usually iced and made with various ingredients, which I will teach you later, but without alcohol. Did you get me?"

"Yes, Andrea."

"Good. Kindly write it down," he said and waited for me to do that.

After writing it, he continued, "Cocktail is an alcoholic drink. It is made by mixing two or more drinks together."

He paused and watched me as I wrote his explanation down. When I was through, he continued. I was happy to be with him because he was a patient supervisor.

"You are a good student," he praised me and I blushed.

"I will help you to adapt quickly if you cooperate with me," he said with a broad smile.

Despite my reservation about the place especially their little pay, I was happy and willing to do whatever he asked me to do even though I did not know what he meant by that. I will not allow the job to slip off my hands.

  • My Janitor's Whisper of Love    Chapter 167. Unending Joy 17

The Tenth Day - Reuben’s POV I have never seen such a show off before. Johnson had installed baby car seats in his car. He obtained permission from the authorities because he would cause gridlock on the roads as he transported the babies home. Also, he paid for a two-hour live broadcast on the television station. He mobilized the Swansea police while our security team was ready. Sarah, the presenter of The Family Tapestry TV Show was there. After the doctor assessed the babies, he discharged us."Let's go," Reuben said after we carried the babies. The camera men began to Pam their cameras as we walked to the car. The hospital staff waved us off, some with tears in their eyes whether from exhaustion or emotion, I couldn’t tell. Johnson’s ridiculous convoy stretched down the street, a parade of flashing lights and camera crews. I strapped the last baby into its seat, my fingers fumbling with the buckles. Sarah from The Family Tapestry leaned in, microphone in hand. "Reuben, how d

Johnson’s POV It was not easy shuttling between the house and the hospital, so, we moved into the hospital. Reuben had two children but I had three. I was ensuring that I didn't compromise his position as the firstborn. I studied his countenance and was pleased that it did not shrink. Our mothers arrived and volunteered to take over from us."You need to go home and rest, Son. We can continue," Reuben's mother said to me."No, Mom. We can do it together," I politely refused. My mom laughed at her and worked things out for her, "Don't bother yourself. I don't think they would agree to leave the babies."Huh! I have not seen such attachment," she pointed out.We laughed at her assertion and Reuben pacified her, "We will be fine, Mom."She smiled at him and gave him a searching look. She loved him so much and I could see the joy in her eyes."It's okay."We took more rooms to accommodate everyone. We ensured that we were part of the children's early lives. They see us before they sle

Being surprised was an understatement. Reuben and I sat frozen for a split second, our brains struggling to process what we were seeing. Two tiny bundles, swaddled in soft blankets, nestled in Mrs. Austin’s arms. My mouth fell open. "Two?" was all I managed to choke out. Reuben, ever the quick one to recover, let out a disbelieving laugh. "You ... you’re joking, Doctor." Mrs. Austin's eyes sparkled with amusement. "No joke, Bosses. You’ve got a pair of beautiful, healthy babies waiting to meet their fathers." I shot a look at the doctor, who merely shrugged, still grinning. "I wanted it to be a surprise. You’d mentioned only wanting to know the genders, not the number." Reuben made a strangled noise, somewhere between a laugh and a gasp. "Huh!" He cut himself off, shaking his head in awe. I stood up on shaky legs, my heart pounding so hard I was sure Reuben could hear it. Mrs. Austin stepped closer, carefully adjusting the babies in her arms. "This little one," she sa

Reuben’s POV I didn't want us to meet the surrogate chiefly because I was afraid that she might develop an interest in Johnson. I learned that intending parents are often involved in the immediate postpartum period, sharing the joy and excitement of meeting their baby. Yes, but I might be unable to withstand Johnson’s handshakes with the woman or possibly a hug in appreciation or emotional support."No way," I said while returning from my board meeting.I was not surprised to see my office locked. He had left for his office. When I settled down, I called the workers at the Westminster site to confirm the report from there. I was happy to know that the manager did not exaggerate the report. I had an untold joy in me - the arrival of the baby was not far from the reasons.Five Days Later Despite not wanting to meet the surrogate or know her, Johnson was so excited and wished to announce the arrival of the baby to the world, just to fulfill his desire. "Wait for us to leave the hospi

Johnson’s POV I held him tightly, right in the middle of his office, kissing him with all the passion he ignited in me. Reuben was desperate, his hands clutching at my shirt as if he feared I’d disappear. The way he loved me these days - fierce, unyielding - was both a wonder and a privilege. "My firstborn," I murmured, cradling his face. "Is there something you’re not telling me? You love me more than I ever imagined possible." He kissed me again, slow and sweet. "You keep proving I made the right choice. Thank you for choosing me." My chest tightened at his words. I pulled him closer, whispering against his lips, "You’re the best decision I've ever made. Thank you for accepting me." He rested his head on my shoulder, his breathing steadying as we stood there, wrapped in each other. After a long moment, I finally asked, "What did you want to show me?" Reuben lifted his head, his eyes gleaming with mischief and something deeper-something that made my pulse quicken. "This,

I pulled him close, resting my forehead against his. "Because you were there with me. I couldn’t have done it alone." He chuckled softly. "Well, next time, let’s just tell them from the start. My nerves can’t take another night like this." I kissed him lightly. "Deal." With that, we settled into the comfort of honesty and transparency and the peace that came with it. Suddenly, Julius' phone buzzed with a message. We turned to look at the phone which was on the candlestand. He picked it up at once and said, "It's from Big Brother."I was thrilled and adjusted. He tapped the message and began to read.Julius' POV Henry had been campaigning on our behalf concerning the project. He had been able to mobilize many people."Hello, Little brother. I hope you and Hendrick are doing well. I have received support from the following people and transferred it to you. Kindly contact and appreciate them through their attached contacts."I felt exhilarated and screamed, "Yes!" raising my two
