chapter 2 homebody

The rest of the weekend went by smoothly, like Arianne just spent it reading and finishing her new book, watching Netflix, cleaning her room, doing her homework then study some more and lastly, talking to her friends about anything and everything. 

"Hey kiddo how are you doing lately?" her dad asks as they are having dinner. 

"just the same usual stuff dad." 

"did you get yourself a boyfriend now?" She turn her eyes to her mom and found her smiling widely. 

"why Daddy am I allowed now to have one?" hahaha! Her dad told her before that she can only have a boyfriend when she turn 18. 

"nope!" he said popping the p. "study first baby but if ever there will come a time that someone catch your attention, he must be good enough or else he'll feel my wrath!" he then added and wink at her. 

"sure thing Daddy! dont worry nobody got me interested yet." 

"that's my baby!" 

Just then, Arianne remember the boy that strangely caught her attention last friday night. Once in a while the image of him quite visiting in her mind and she can't help but imagine that he is really looking particularly in her direction. Phew! She wonder when will she see him again or will she ever see him again? C'mon he's from a different school and her being just a shadow on her famous friends, will he ever throw her any amount of attention at all? Nope! That'll never work or so she thought.

"hey sweetheart why don't you invite Alexis and Kristinn this weekend for a sleepover?" her mom said with which brought her back to the present. She then answer her mom with frowning eyebrows. 

"your dad and I are going out of town this coming weekend. We're going to attend one of his officemate's wedding." her mom further explain. 

"Ohh okay mom I'll ask them tomorrow. I hope they don't have further plans yet." 

"yeah sweetheart but if they can't make it, maybe I'll just stay." her mom said pouting. 

"no its okay mom I'll be okay! We've done that before. Remember I'm all grown up now?" Arianne said sweetly trying to convince both her parents.

"yeah right! Ohh my baby girl is not a baby anymore!!!" her mom exclaim then.

"Mom whatever happens, I will always be your baby girl, promise!" she said grabbing and squeezing her mom's hand.

"My precious baby, you are such a sweetheart!"

"Oh sure! After all she is my daughter!" her dad said as he interrupts their mother and daughter moment.

They all laughed together. Arianne was so happy seeing the smile in her parents face.

"But Yanna when we're not home no party or boys allowed huh?" her dad said suddenly. 

"of course daddy! Don't you worry, I'm always a good girl!" 

Her dad just nodded at her words.

After dinner her parents retire to their room. While Arianne was left washing the dishes. 

After washing and assuring that all the doors are locked, she turn off the lights and went upstairs to her room. 

She just got out of the bathroom and finished brushing her teeth when her phone rings. 

"hi K!" she said after checking the caller id. 

"hello Yanna! how are you doing today?" 

"same boring stuff!" she replied giggling. "how about you?" 

"well just the usual also. umm Yanna can you come with me to the mall tomorrow. I need to look for a dress." 

"what dress ? I mean what for?" 

"me and my parents are going to a party on Friday! Some business partners of my dad is throwing a party you know!?!!" Kristinn answered and sighed.

"sure I'll come with you to the mall."

"Great! You are such a life saver." Kristinn said happily then.

"I know right!?!! And I'm sure Lexi will come with us too." 

"that'd be great. Thanks Yanna!" 

"wait K before I forgot, my mom wants to know if you and Lexi would like to stay here for a sleepover this coming weekend? they're going out of town." 

"sure. Maybe after the party I could go straight to your house then!" She said excitedly. 

Every once in a month they do sleepover that's why both of their families are already familiar to the three of them.

"great! Tomorrow I'll inform Lexi. I'm hoping she don't have plans yet for the weekend ahead." she said in hesitation.

"Yanna you know, even if she has plans, I don't think she'll turn down your sleepover offer. Don't you worry about her." Kristinn said reassuring her.

"thanks for that K. So see you guys tomorrow then? Omg K monday not again!" She breathed a deep sigh remembering what day is tomorrow. 

"yup Yanna! Monday it is! Your favorite day of the week!" Kristinn said teasing her knowing fully well how she dread the day.

"So goodbye for now my friend?" Kristinn then added.

"bye K! Can't wait to see you tomorrow then!" Arianne gave a fake laugh.

Kristinn just answered her with a giggle. Then both of them hang up.

After some time, Arianne fix her things for tomorrow's class and didn't  forget to turn on her alarm.

Finally, Arianne drag herself to sleep cause she know very well that tomorrow she'll need more energy to enforce for herself.

Monday is the day where she always find herself too lazy to get up but really have to. Who wouldn't right?
