chapter 4 bring home

After saying goodbye to their friends, Arianne and Jace headed outside to his car silently.

Both of them don't have any idea how to start a conversation. Even Jace got tongue tied. Well, he's mind is still digging deeply for him to find a topic or whatever but it seems like it's betraying him.

"wait Jace I forgot something!" Arianne suddenly said.

"Huh, what is it?" he said in surprise.

Arianne didn't answer him instead she hurriedly go inside a doughnut store and order a dozen of assorted doughnuts.

"great! just like i'm having a difficulty in finding a way to talk to her, on the other side, she just thinks of food and nothing but!" Jace told to himself.

He went into her direction with a scowl on his face. She mouthed "sorry" and smile sweetly hoping he will understand the situation. She just cant resist sweet food.

"Hungry again baby? you just finished dinner!" he said with a smirk.

"excuse me? I'm not a baby! And the one I ate there is just SNACK and those sweets are for later." she said defensively.

He suppressed a chuckle. "my goodness! You eat like a man!" he said then burst out a hearty laugh.

Arianne thought he looks cute. She wish he'll do it often. She won't mind if she will embarrass herself in front of him as long as he smiles a lot.

"whatever Jace!" she said faking annoyance then she turn around and pick up her box of doughnuts.

They headed to the mall's parking lot. When they finally inside his incredibly gorgeous sports car, Arianne can't help but wonder why everything about him is gorgeous?

Jace then ask for Arianne's address. She gave it and he enter it in his car gps and drove off.

"So are you under strict parenting?" Jace starting the conversation casually.

"Not really. Since I turned 16 my parents tie on me loosen. Its just me who's used in telling them stuff." Arianne answer him trying to be casual too.

"great kid! model of exemplary behavior huh?"

"am not trying to be anything Jace, maybe I just love and care so much for my parents that's why!?!!"

"Ohh- kay! so how old are you now?" he said afterwards.

"excuse me? Don't you know that it's rude to ask a lady about her age?"

"but you're not a lady!" Jace said playfully. He thinks she looks so cute when she scrunch her nose in annoyance.

Arianne shrugged her shoulder in return.

"okay i'm sorry!" Jace said while doing the peace sign and suppressing a laugh.

"sixteen!" she said abruptly.

"sixteen? sixteen what?" he turn to her frowning.

"I am sixteen years of age!"

"what??? I thought you're already a senior like Alexis?" Jace said in disbelief.

"I am! I started school a little early then, you know!" she said in a proudly manner.

"I knew it! You are a baby!"

"I'm sorry to disappoint you mister but I am not!" Arianne answered him pouting.

"yes you are! baby! ohh look at yourself, aren't you the cutest?" he cooed her upon seeing her reaction which consist of her, scrunching her nose, lips' pouting,  arms crossed in her chest then she turn her head on the other side.

"no!"

"yes!"

"no!"

"yes!"

"no!"

"no!"

"yes!"

"yes?"

"no! Whatever!"

"baby!"

Arianne just ignore him. And turn her whole attention on the side of the road.

"baby? baby?"

"I'm still not gonna answer you!"

"but baby you have to, cause we're here already. Look!?!!"

She got surprised that they're already in front of her house.

"finally! " she said and roll her eyes.

"you're welcome baby!" he's all smile as he looks at her adorable self.

"okay then! Thank you for a wonderful ride Jace!" she said with a mock.

"anytime baby! Are you sure you don't want to invite me inside your house baby?" Jace said smiling sweetly.

"nope!" she said popping the p. She's thinking her dad is already at home and if he sees Jace it will only lead to an interrogation.

She knows her dad very well enough.

"but why not?"

"because my dad and mom will surely think of something else and I bet it won't end it into something nice." she explain it to him.

"Ohh baby you're hurting me!"

he said holding on to his chest.

She shook her head in his try to be dramatic but failed to do so.

"thank you and goodbye Jace! drive safely!" she said now smiling then get out of his car and head to her house.

When she get inside she heard her parents in the kitchen.

"hey parents dear! I'm home!" she was exhausted and thought she has no energy anymore so she just shouted.

"okay daughter go get freshen up first then when we're done here we'll call you!" her dad shouted back.

"mom what's for dinner?"

"lasagna! It'll be ready in an hour so take a rest first sweetie."

"Mom we have dessert I brought doughnuts your favorite!" yes, Arianne got her sweet tooth from her mom.

"Yeah sweetheart that will be our dessert then! Okay now go and freshen up!"

"Sure thing mommy!" Arianne answered her sweetly.

"brat!" she heard her dad said then she went upstairs lazily.

When Arianne reach her room, she slumped her body in her bed. Her thoughts go back to the memory of Jace. Now he has a name. She can't believe that a boy enter her mind so easily. It's the first time that she thinks of a boy. Well, he has gorgeous face, especially his eyes, he has good built and he's tall too. And remember he played good in their recent football game? Physically he looks good. And how about his smile and the sound of his chuckle? Well, it's cute and she loves it. Huh what? Love? Isn't it too early for that?

C'mon! based on his looks maybe he has already a girlfriend or girlfriends perhaps!

Arianne breathed a deep sigh. Upon thinking about him being with someone else, she felt sad. Weird huh?
