He lay on the ground with the sword stuck in his heart and blood sipping out of his wound.

Instead of an excruciating pain,

A peace like no other engulfed him as his heart slowed with every breath he took.

He lay still, unmoving as the world began to darken before his eyes.

Then suddenly the door burst open and Rojan, Earnest, alongside Jason, rushed to his side.

However, there was another odd person that loomed over him.

It was Aragon.

The oldest elder in the royal house, a millennial old werewolf. A member of the council, a former Zeta and War general in his time, and a descendant of one of the founding fathers of plane Weode.

A man full of wisdom.

He had just taken notice of their presence when his eyes rolled back in his head.

"Give him to me," he heard the elder's voice say.

Then he felt his body being lifted from the ground and frail hands that were old and wrinkly snuggled around him. Unexpectedly, sharp fangs sank into his neck, and hot pain jolted through his body.

He jerked

  • My Lord Alpha   Chapter 148: History Repeating Itself

"Why did you give me this information when you know I could lose my throne as a result? It should have stayed buried forever," Wayne pointed out.Aragon should have taken it to his grave. He did not have to know, did not need to know that the man he had always loved and called father was in fact, his uncle. And the man he hated deeply was the man who had fathered him. The one who had made his biological mother die out of depression, denying him the opportunity to know her. Then he had gone ahead and killed the mother who had loved and raised him.He hated that Waylon's blood ran in his veins."I do this solely for your own benefit, I see a pattern. History is trying to repeat itself, so I wanted to warn you," Aragon replied."My benefit?" He asked, confused."I heard your mate ran away from you. Did you drive her away with your ambitions and high standards? Did you mistreat her just like your father did his mate?" Aragon asked, his voice holding an accusing undertone.Wayne opened his

  • My Lord Alpha   Chapter 147: Aragon's Secret II

"There is a secret to my birth?" Wayne asked."Indeed, there is. One that your father told me on his sick bed and made me swear to carry it to my grave," Aragon said.Curiosity suffused him, alongside it was a sense of dread.Whatever this secret was, for his father to demand secrecy, then it was not pleasant."Why are you telling me if my father made you swear to keep it hidden," He inquired."He told me I was only allowed to tell you, and only you when I dim it fit or consider it beneficial to you," Aragon calmly said. What could this secret be? Why had his father not told him by himself?"Tell me, for I am listening," Wayne urged.Aragon squared his shoulders as he prepared himself to reveal a deep truth. He began "Warren Wyatt was a very compassionate and a wise king. I served his father, your grandfather, as his Zeta. And I must say that from a young age, your father had always shown empathy and commitment towards family and friends."Aragon had paused to catch his breath and Way

Wayne lifted up his eyes to Rojan and said, "Words cannot explain how sorry I am to you, brother. I know you must feel offended-""Offended?" Rojan cut him off abruptly, "I am downright annoyed and vexed. Here I was doing my best to hold down the forte, was bending over backwards to hold the front line till the day of your return. Yet you decided on your own to abandon me and everything else. Did you not consider how I would feel? Do I not matter to you?"He put a hand to his temple, he knew he had hurt Rojan's feelings. "I was doing it for you, and for everyone else. The pressure on you was so much and the madness was not getting better. I hear the whispers that carry on in these walls, my closest subjects want me dead. They think my madness is contagious. How long would it take before the whole plane gathered at my mansion, demanding my dethronement and my head? I had to do something before things got out of hand."Rojan raked his fingers through his hair "Was death the only option?

Jason stopped and spun around."Do not be afraid Jason, for it is me," he told him.His sentinel looked perplexed, a combination of joy and disbelief was visible on his face. Therefore, he did not come close, he asked cautiously from his position at the door "Is that really you, my lord?""Yes, it is." He responded."Praise the heavens!" Jason exclaimed "I am so happy you are back to yourself. Let me quickly go and inform his lordship, Rojan."Jason had once again turned toward the door when he called him back."Jason, wait!" He said.Jason halted in his step and turned around expectantly "Yes, my lord?""I do not have much time before my beast takes over. Listen carefully to what I am about to say and promise me you will do it without hesitation."Jason frowned, his enthusiasm fading away. An expression of unease settled over his face "I am listening.""Promise me first," he urged. The unease grew more pronounced as Jason looked nervous, as though he sensed what he was about to deman

  • My Lord Alpha   Chapter 143: Regret II

He...missed her.Would be happy to see just a glimpse of her face.To see her smile at him shyly with those cute cheeks of hers, or frown at him sternly with the fire in her eyes when she argued with him.Her soft chin would be set at a stubborn angle, and her wee little mouth would be spewing out human rights and modern civilization topics. She was an open book. Pure and honest, yet with a subtle push to make you do things her way.His confinement in this room and the recent ordeal had made him realize that his feelings for her ran deeper than he had allowed himself to believe. The emotions he had thought were fickle and would fade with time, remained constant. Tormenting him daily. These days he always found himself thinking about her. Wondering how she was coping in the den of his uncle. It was strange that his uncle had not sent a letter demanding for anything, and using her as his bargaining chip.Which meant two things:His uncle had other plans in mind for her.She was dead a

I hear you.I hear you loud and clear brother.Wayne echoed in his head as Rojan exited the room. This was one of the few moments when his beast's grip on his mind was faint. He was lucid and could process his thoughts clearly.Sailing in the background and locked in by his wolf, unable to do anything, he had just listened to the plea in Rojan's voice. He was sorry to have left him with so much burden. He was sorry to be unable to perform his duties and put Rojan in an awkward position where he had to lie to protect his throne and also conceal his madness. He was sorry that he had beaten the daylights out of him and nearly killed him because he was trying his best not to hurt him.He was sorry and ashamed that he had attacked Earnest and every other person who had brought in his meals. He was sorry for neglecting his wolf needs and doing whatever he pleased, ignoring the fact that they were a team and suppressing its desires constantly was wrong. They were two sides of his nature that

  • My Lord Alpha   Chapter 141: Come Back

He paused for a few minutes. Not that he expected a response. For the beast to speak would mean that its sanity had returned and Wayne had once again taken control. But all he got was silence."I know you are in there somewhere listening to me, so I am just going to talk to you for a while before I go up to your office to finish up some paperwork,'' he added. Then he relaxed on the chair and let out a scoff. "All I do is work these days. All day and every day. Having free time on my hands has become an imaginary luxury. One that seems impossible to achieve," he folded his arms and continued "I don't remember ever saying I wanted to be King. The position is too tasking. I have to make all the decisions, both ones I like and dislike. I always have to consider the bigger picture and take actions that benefit the entire populace. Taking into consideration the younglings, the elderly, the youth, the employed and unemployed, and the half breeds across the border."He ran a hand through his

  • My Lord Alpha   Chapter 140: Come Back

Rojan strolled into the mansion's living room.Earnest immediately came forward to welcome him.Today, just like every other day had been hectic and he had just rounded up the day's activities. He usually ended his day by coming home to Wayne and spending the night at the mansion."How is he faring today?" He asked Earnest."He has remained calm today, there were no mad outbursts so far today," Earnest replied, receiving his briefcase."Did he eat his meals?" He inquired."Barely touched anything, but we do well to offer him the type of food he likes," Earnest reported."I want you to continue to warn the staff to keep their mouth shut about his presence in the house," Rojan instructed."I have warned them repeatedly, yet the rumors continue to spread," Earnest explained, then whispered low "It is not something that we can continue to hide, his roars are loud and he constantly bangs on the walls, trying to free himself.""But his lucid moments are increasing with each passing day.
