That evening, the quiet returned before the storm. I heard the front door creak open , a familiar sound, Elijah’s arrival. I stayed in my room, trying to breathe, trying to push away the weight of everything that had just happened. But something felt… off. Something sharp lingered in the air.

Then I heard it , a voice, low at first, then cracking into desperate sobs. Vanessa. I rose instinctively, moving toward the hallway just as her door clicked shut again. Whatever performance she had just given, it ended when she heard my steps. I didn’t need to see her face to know what she had done.

Minutes later, I was still standing at my window when I heard his voice very loud, thunderous, shaking the walls I had built around my heart. “Nina! Nina, where are you?!”

The panic in his tone wasn't concern , it was rage. I turned just in time to see him slam the bedroom door open with enough force to make the frame rattle. His eyes were fire.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” he roared. “Why are

‎Sara Fenric's (Nina’s POV) ‎It was a Saturday and I had received an invitation for a Charity Auction event. I had already made my preparation to be accompanied by William. When we arrived that evening of the event. The ballroom was all glittered that night, chandeliers dripping light like melted gold, and laughter echoing against glass walls. ‎ ‎Every powerful name in the city was there, dressed in wealth and ego, pretending to care about some charity while showing off how much they could give. ‎ ‎Well and so was I. As Sarah Fenric. ‎ ‎That was the name printed on the gold-foiled invitation card , a name that had opened doors no one ever knew were meant for, well late Nina Grayson as everyone all knew. ‎ ‎Each guest was to donate something precious to be auctioned that night, the proceeds going to a global child-care foundation. Some donated Jewels, luxury trips, rare art, private jets, the items screamed status. ‎ ‎Well for me, my contribution was quieter, b

Author’s POV ‎ Later that Night, Elijah walked into the house, with the quiet echoing through the wide hall. Then, from the top of the staircase, Vanessa appeared , her silk robe was tied loosely, her hair falling down her shoulders like she had been waiting all night. ‎“You’re home late,” she said, her voice smooth but sharp around the edges. “I had dinner without you.” ‎“I had dinner already,” Elijah replied, loosening his tie, trying to sound more casual. ‎Her brows lifted slightly. “You had dinner?” “Yes,” he said. “With a potential partner. A designer, Sarah Fenric. She’s got a style that could change the direction of our next project at the Towers.” ‎Vanessa’s lips curved, but it wasn’t a smile. “A woman then.” Elijah frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?” She started down the staircase, each step slow, and deliberate, her eyes never leaving his face. ‎“well nothing,” she said softly. “Just thinking. Could it be the same woman who owned that piece of earring I found

‎“Thank you, Miss Sarah, for inviting me to dinner tonight,” Elijah said, his deep voice filling the quiet space as he rose from his seat. “I’m truly delighted.” ‎William stood beside him, polite and composed. “Have a good evening, Mr. Grayson.” ‎“Thank you for having me tonight,” Elijah replied with that practiced charm of his , the kind that once could have made my heart skip. But now, it only reminded me of everything I had lost. ‎William lifted my son into his arms. The boy laughed, his small hands reaching for William’s face. “Come on, champ,” William said softly as they headed upstairs. ‎Elijah’s gaze followed them for a moment before turning back to me. “Wonderful boy you have there,” he said, smiling. ‎“Yes,” I replied, my tone calm but edged with something deeper. “He is.” ‎“He must take after his father,” Elijah added casually. ‎I smiled , not wide, but sharp enough to cut the air. “He’s not like his father,” I said. “That’s because he has his own life to liv

‎Sarah Fenric (Nina’s POV) ‎ ‎The bell rang just as the clock struck eight. I took a slow breath, smoothed the hem of my dress, and opened the door. ‎ ‎And there he was. Elijah Grayson. “Oh... hello,” I said, letting the faintest smile touch my lips. “You’re right on time.” ‎ ‎He stood there, so confident as ever, holding a bottle of wine in one hand. “I wouldn’t dream of being late,” he said, stepping in. “Château Margaux 2010. One of the best.” He placed it gently in my hands, his eyes catching mine. “A rare one. Just like you.” ‎ ‎I gave a small laugh, soft and controlled. “Hmmm...How charming.” ‎ ‎The moment he stepped inside, his scent, expensive cologne and something darker filled the air. His gaze moved slowly, taking in the quiet elegance of the room before landing back on me. ‎ ‎“You look…” He paused, his voice dropping slightly. “Astonishing, in that dress.” ‎ ‎It was red. Deep, bold red, the kind that caught light and shadow in equal measure. Silk brushed

Nina ( Sarah Fenric)'s ‎That night I could barely sleep. That wasn't because of fear or something, well that part of me was long long gone, it was really because I knew the game between the same people that had got Nina killed had begun. ‎ ‎By morning, the city outside was already awake. The sun pushed through my curtains, too bright, and very clean for the kind of thoughts running through my head that morning. I was already up and setted by the window with my coffee, waiting. Well waiting for anything to happen. It didn’t take long. My phone buzzed, a single message flashing across the screen. Unknown Number: But I noticed that was Elijah's Office line. “Miss Fenric, Mr. Grayson requests a private meeting this afternoon regarding a new project proposal.” ‎ ‎There was this slow smile curved on my lips the moment I saw it . He took the bait faster than I thought. He his still wanting me in. H wanted to see me i guess but his pride wouldn't let him just call in and request to s

‎Nina’s POV ‎ ‎He thought he was leading me across that dance floor, step by step. ‎But the truth is? He was already caught. Already holding what I had left behind. ‎ ‎I left the gala that very night with a quiet smile no one actually understood. Elijah didn’t notice anything at all. He never would have, until it was too late. ‎ ‎*** ‎ ‎Author's POV- Later that Even at Elijah’s Residence ‎ ‎Elijah loosened his tie as he entered the penthouse, the sound of his shoes was echoing against the polished marble floors. Vanessa was waiting, curled on the velvet sofa, her eyes was so sharp as glass. ‎ ‎“You’re late,” she said. But He gave a careless shrug, heading for the liquor cabinet. “It was business, Meeting with Partners and investors in an event.” ‎ ‎Her gaze tracked his every move, suspicion written in the hard set of her jaw. And then at that very moment she saw it. ‎ ‎Something very small. Something actually out of place. An earring, clinging to the inside fold of his
