‎Nina’s POV

‎We were just about to leave the hospital after my son’s discharge when my phone rang again. It was the same person, the man from the black market. My heart skipped the moment I saw his call again. “I’ll be right back,” I said quietly to William, then stepped away from them before picking up. “I’m at the handover point, waiting on you,” the man said. I looked down at my bag, slowly pulling out the document. Just holding it now made my chest tighten. Elijah’s personal doctor’s words kept echoing in my head. Everything I believed… everything I hated Elijah for… What if it was all a misunderstanding from the very beginning? What if I had been wrong all along? I stood there, just frozen, torn between revenge and the truth I didn’t want to face right now. “What’s going on, ma’am?” the man asked again, dragging me out of my thoughts. “Why are you silent?” I swallowed hard this time. “It’s… it’s all a misunderstanding,” I finally whispered. “I’m cancelling the deal.” “What? Why.

  • My Love; You Were Never Meant To Be A Substitute    Chapter 087

‎Nina’s POV ‎For hours now...God knows how long exactly...I was still tied down. My wrists burned from the rough rope digging into my skin, and my ankles were already numb. My mouth was still stuffed with pieces of cloth, making it hard to breathe, harder to even cry, and impossible to scream. My phone kept vibrating somewhere there on the table across the room. Over and over, again and again. Who was really calling? Every one must be looking all over for us. William? Elijah? ‎Anyone? And each time it rang, panic shot through me because I couldn’t answer. I couldn’t even turn my head to see the screen. I just lay down there helplessly, my cheek pressed against the cold floor. Tears soaked the cloth gag until it tasted like salt. What did I do? Why am I still here?My thoughts spiraled, looping back to the same fear every single time.My son. Where is my son? I want my baby. I want to see him. I want to hear his little voice calling “Mommy.” I want to know he’s safe. The silence in

  • My Love; You Were Never Meant To Be A Substitute    Chapter 086

‎ ‎William’s POV ‎ ‎The call kept on ringing, but Nina still wasn’t picking up at all. But Why wasn’t she answering? I wanted to make sure she’d gotten home safely...especially after the parking lot security told me they’d found her car with a punctured tire. A car that had remained in the hospital lot all day. That alone didn’t sit well with me. I kept on trying her number again. But still there was nothing. It was Just her voicemail. A bad feeling hit my chest. Nina never ignored calls like this… not from me at least. I checked the time... I had just finished my shift. I couldn’t shake the uneasiness growing inside me. Something isn’t right. I grabbed my coat and headed out of the hospital. If Nina wasn’t answering, then I needed to check the house myself. Maybe she was already home with her son. Maybe everything was probably fine. But deep down… I knew something was off. So I drove straight to her place. ‎ ‎But when I got to her house, the whole place was quiet.I stepped into

‎Nina's POV ‎My eyes felt so heavy,… but I could forced them open. At first everything was looking very blurry. i began to see some Shapes, then it was becoming like Shadows. Then slowly, it became clearer. I tried to lift my hand but it wouldn’t move. I pulled harder. But still nothing. My wrists were tied… tightly… to a metal pole behind me. That instant, panic shot through me. I struggled again, twisting my hands, trying to free myself, but the rope only cut deeper into my skin. ‎ ‎When my sight finally cleared fully, I looked around, and my heart almost stopped the moment I noticed where I was. I was lying on the cold wooden floor of a small cabin. There weren't any windows, only one dim light, with Four walls that felt like they were all closing in at me. A sharp fear washed over me. “Hello?” I shouted. “Help! Somebody help me!” But my voice only echoed back at me. There wasn't any answer. But then I screamed louder again, I became desperate now. But still there was nothin

  • My Love; You Were Never Meant To Be A Substitute    Chapter 083

‎Nina’s POV ‎ ‎On the morning of the handover, I went straight to the hospital to pick up my son. As I walked through the entrance, I suddenly saw Elijah’s private doctor coming out. “Oh...hello, Mrs. Elijah,” he said with a warm smile. “Oh, doctor… it’s been a very long time,” I replied. “And you can just call me Miss now.” “Oh? I see,” he said, a little surprised. “Well, how are you? It’s good to see you after such a long long while. I haven’t seen you and Elijah come in for your usual checkups. Is everything okay between you two?” ‎“We… we haven’t been together for a long time,” I said quietly. “Everything fell apart after Vanessa...after she got her eyes back. And I almost lost my life because of what she did to me... And Elijah was all in the picture.” “What?” the doctor gasped. “That must have been horrible.” “It was,” I admitted. He hesitated, then sighed. “But… five years ago, I was the one managing Vanessa’s health while she was in the coma. After the accident that left he
