“Tina, who is she?”
Marcus repeated himself, demanding an answer.
Tina looked up at him. The omega bit her lips and then turned aside, “No one.”
Marcus would not buy her words.
“Who are you trying to cover for? Who forced you?” The alpha needed to know.
The omega kept on shaking her head in denial, crying, “Don’t force me! I can’t say it!”
Marcus pursed his lips at her. Anxious grew within himself each second passed by.
“Marcus, my dad has been through a lot. The least I can do for him is to keep my mouth shut! He can’t handle anymore.” Tina started to hiccup. Her words sounded broken.
The head alpha furrowed: “Tina, do you want me to help you?”
Tina, with her eyes all teary, and her nose as red as a tomato, once again kept her head down. Her shoulders were slightly shaking. The head alpha looked at this and thought to himself that
Giselle quickly hung up the call. The Luna felt like she was struck by lightning in the middle of the day. She barely breathe. Her heartbeat raised, and her hands were shaking and feeling stiff at the same time. A cold ran across her spine, making her numb with the chill of it. Her palms wetted with cold sweat making it hard for her to even held her phone still. If she was not mistaken, that was Tina. That was Tina on the other end, answering Marcus’s phone.By any means, did that indicate Marcus was with Tina at the moment? But the head alpha said he would be at the packhouse to settle some works, and then he might pay Fynn a visit to place an appointment for Giselle’s mom. Marcus never mentioned of him seeing Tina.Plus, Tina was supposed to be abroad then. Giselle’s mom told her the omega had been abroad for months now. Then why was she here? Had she been there all the time?Giselle bit her lips. Suddenly, Giselle felt h
“What?”Giselle pretended like she did not know what was Derek talking about. The Luna quickly turned away. She changed the subject, “Let’s go! We should be there on time!”But Derek did not let her get away. The man held Giselle back by her arm, he said, “Whatever bothering you, if you could let it out, it would be so much easier to handle.”Giselle clenched her teeth. She did not turn around. The Luna nodded, “I know. But it’s nothing, really.”Derek stayed quiet for a while. After he affirmed that Giselle would not tell him anything, he let go of her.“Giselle, you should know that I’m your friend. I cared for you. If anything bothers you, let me know. I’ll lend you an ear, maybe an arm, too.”The Luna nodded, finally turning around. She looked at Derek, and smiled reluctantly, “Maybe I’ll need you to drive.”She was not sui
“I’m sorry.”Giselle looked at the text message that Marcus had sent her. She seemed unbothered. The head alpha must be sorry for Giselle finding out about his little secret this soon. Now come to think of that, maybe when Marcus did not make it to their date the first time, the head alpha probably had spent the day with Tina, too.Giselle could not help but feel utterly bitterness. Was it really fun to play with her emotion like that?Tina had come back, and the head alpha was still being all lovey-dovey with Giselle. For what? What did he think?Giselle bit her lips. She could not find a proper answer to justify Marcus’s action. Nevertheless, she could only feel sour, and feeling herself being an absolutely dummies.Did not bother to answer his text, the Luna shoved her phone away in her bag, did her hygiene, and got ready to start making food for tonight’s guesses.Tonight, she had an app
“What?”Giselle felt caught off guard by Lukas's sudden statement. He had already paid them back? What was it?“What do you mean?” Giselle furrowed. The Luna did not understand what did this alpha say.But then, she suddenly remembered what her mom had said.Edsel Brown and his family had been accused of misleading the pack members. They had failed to meet the members’ hope of growing in both strength and financial. Most importantly, his right-hand Tery was caught red-handed lurking around the Ashes pack territory.Giselle bit her lips, thinking was it true that the pack her mom had been banished from, and the pack Lukas wanted her mom to come back to was the Ashes pack?Lukas said the alpha had done for Giselle and her mom a payback, with everything that happened recently at the Brownson pack, one was the misleadings, failure of being a head alpha; one was invading another pack’s territory. Giselle
The Luna stared at her phone for a while before picking up, just a second before the call died.“Giselle?” The head alpha voice resonated from the other end. He sounded unsure. It was not Tina’s voice like Giselle had expected. Why had Giselle thought it might be Tina? Maybe it was because the Luna thought Marcus was still with the omega at the time. It might be the omega who called Giselle to show off her winning over the pitiful Luna.Giselle heaved a heavy sigh, “I’m here.”The head alpha breathed a sigh of relief. Carefully he asked, “Are you at your mom?”Giselle got back to the couch, and opened the juice can, taking a sip before answering him, “Yeah.”She sounded curt, looked ever so careless. But honestly, she felt anxious, to say the least.Actually, she did not want to pick up the phone, but somehow, she still picked it up. Maybe she wanted to hear what
Marcus had pulled over to Catherine’s apartment building two hours ago. He had thought of going to her restaurant first. But he had changed his mind. On his second thought, Catherine’s apartment might be a better idea.He had even seen his Luna, tiredly getting into her mom’s apartment building. She was still in her chef uniform.Marcus had to hold himself back from jumping in front of her, pulling her into a tight hug. It had been hard, but he had successfully refrained himself.Another hour passed until it was almost two in the morning when Marcus finally called Giselle after all of the texts he had sent her.At the moment, Marcus was sitting in his car, looking at the entrance of Catherine’s apartment building. The head alpha was waiting for his Luna to show up. He felt himself getting more and more anxious as seconds passed by.His wolf sensed his anxiety, too. Yet, it did not do anything at all. It sat there in silence,
Dorris Bailey got home by one-thirty in the morning.Currently, the former Luna had changed into her sleeping gown, she was in her kitchen, pouring herself a glass of wine. She did not feel any sleepiness at all. As of now, all of hers right then were filled with glee. There was no space for anything else. She was still overly joyful at the news Nabeel had brought her.Dorris drained her glass of wine in one go. She poured for herself another one, drinking it up in one go once again. After three tall glasses of wine, Dorris finally felt a little bit collected.“Ha!” Dorris let out a dry laugh, then suddenly it became a satisfying laughing, “Hahaha haha! Haha haha!”Looked who was winning then!No words could describe how she felt right then. To say the former Luna was over cloud nine still be an understatement. It was more than that!More than that!Mindlessly, the former Luna touched her heart pendant that her
Toby was sure that Raiz had been up to something suspicious. He must have had a shook hand with Edsel to do something fishy.Toby must find out what had they been planning to do.He had had Tim snuck into the prison for those rogues to find the rogues that had attacked Marcus before. At first, they all thought the rogue was a random and reckless one. Raiz could never let rogues wander around the Bailey pack’s area. He needed the pack, so it would be better if no rogues were found lurking around. But now, when Toby thought about everything that had happened, it might not be the case. The rogue who attacked Marcus might be one of Raiz’s lackeys.Just as predicted, the rogue had gone. He was not present at the prison. Someone took him right under Marcus’s nose.If the head alpha knew this, he would be in rage!Nonetheless, Toby needed more. He could not use the disappearance of the rogue to be evident against Raiz. That
