Chapter 7: Unexpected (1)

“I’m getting married soon, too.”

Giselle spoke out of the blue. And that had caught Marcus off guard.

“Excuse me?”

“I’m getting married real soon, too. And to be honest, I’m scared. I’m scared of the thought of having someone mark me. I’m scared of the thought that by then, my life has to be bonding with someone else. That thought terrifies me. Maybe your fiancé is having the same thought at the moment. Don’t scare her more.”

Giselle turned away, pouring her heart out. She did not say exactly what happened in her mind right then, but she had some of it out. And the feeling was good. She wished she could out with all of it.

But, something is better than nothing.

“Are you scared?”,  Marcus asked, out of nowhere.

Giselle shrugged, nonchalantly reply to him, “I don’t know.”

Giselle really did not know. Scared or not, that was not her to choose anymore.

It was all for her mom.

“Then, if you’re about to wear a wedding dress, at least smile. Your future mate loves you, and he would not want you to be sad like this.”

Marcus stopped in his track to look at Giselle right in the eyes. They both stood in front of each other.

Suddenly, the surrounding space became very quiet. The voice of laughter, even the sound of vehicles passing by, nor the sound of car horns were no longer present. It was so quiet that Giselle could hear her heart pounding in a rush in her chest. Her inner wolf was strangely quiet, too.

For a moment, everything around them froze. Right then and there, only Marcus and Giselle were present.

They looked at each other. Their mind imprinted others' silhouettes, something in them felt itching.

Giselle's eyes flashed with yellow at the same time Marcus’s deep blue eyes glimmered in red.

Something felt odd, but it was oddly good.

“I…”, Marcus reached out his hand to touch Giselle’s cheek.

His fingers felt like they had electricity running. It left Giselle feeling numb where he touched her. Yet, Giselle felt warm. Once the tingly electric feeling was gone, Giselle felt warm to the touch. It melted her heart. Along with Marcus’s tempting cedarwood scent…

Oh, God!

“Hey, you guys! Hurry up!”

Tim called out for them. And his call definitely did them good. They both snapped out of their dazed.

Giselle quickly turned, running away, leaving Marcus behind with his hand still in the air. The eucalyptus scent still floating in the air, sneaking its way into Marcus’s nostrils.

He wanted to breathe in more of that scent.

It was so wrong.

But felt damn right.

He sighed, reaching out for his phone, sending another text message to Tina.

“I love you.”

Sounded like he was reassuring himself.

“Urg… Fuck…”

Tina mewled. Her body felt numb, but at the same time, wonderful.

The air was hot, but not as what she felt right then. Her mind was on cloud nine. She barely heard her wolf or felt it there anymore. Her mind filled with pleasure, and so did her body. Waves and waves of mere pleasure washing through her, flooded her thought.

“Look like someone is desperate to reach you.”

The man halted a little in his track. Sweats were dripping from his forehead to his bare chest.

“Ignore him. Fuck me harder, please…urg…”

Tina moaned, arching her back more to meet the man’s private. She wanted more. She had not had enough.

The man smirked, continuing his hard thrusts into Tina: “What do you want me to do now?”

“Harder… Harder… Please, Raiz. Baby. Please harder!”

Raiz let out a dark smirk.

Quickly, the wedding day arrived.

Giselle sat in the waiting room, a thick veil covered her face so others could not see her real face. Even Marcus could not see her, either.

Edsel had told Marcus that this was their tradition that the bride-to-be and her husband did not see each other before the wedding day. He claimed that this gave the bride and the groom more time to think about their wedding, whether they really want to do this or not. Because once you marked your mate, you could not take it back.

Marcus was unhappy about this tradition. Yet, what else could he do? Even his mom said he should follow their culture. Sooner or later, he would get to see his mate, so there was no need to be rushed.

With all arranged, at that moment, Giselle stood there in a beautiful white wedding dress, stunning makeup, and she was ready to step in the aisle. In just a matter of minutes, she would be someone else mate whom she had never met before. Giselle felt nervous. Her stomach churned, and her wolf was unsettling. However, this feeling was different.

Different how? Giselle could not seem to point out exactly, still, the feeling was somewhat expected.

Giselle sighed, calming her wolf down. There was nothing worth expecting behind that closed door.

Giselle made a mental note to herself that she must use a special fragrance that had the same rosy scent as Tina. To be honest, this scent made her head feel dizzy.

Giselle never liked rosy scents or roses in general. She should like roses. But honestly, she did not. She was not the flower girly type.

“Ready?”,  Edsel came closed.

He raised his arm, signaling Giselle to hold on so he could lead her into the ceremony where everyone had been waiting.

Giselle tilted her head, looking at him through the thick veil. She took a deep breath and asked, “When will I ever be able to see my mom?”

Edsel frowned. He seemed taken aback by her question.

“Come in. It’s time! We’ll talk about this later!”

He sounded aggressive. He emphasized each of his words. And it was not so surprising that Edsel used his Alpha tone on her again. This bastard was only good for abusing his power on others. Giselle could foresee Edsel would use his Alpha power on her beforehand. He had done that so many times to the point Giselle felt pathetic for him. Only cowards did that!

It gained him no respect from Giselle.

Like Marcus once said, Giselle was different from any Omegas. She did not scared of Edsel. Her inner wolf trembled at Edsel’s tone of voice, obviously. Edsel was an Alpha after all. But, Giselle stood still.

She gritted her teeth, hissed at Edsel. Both her hands clenched into fists. Her inner wolf. After a while, starting to growl, too. Giselle was ready to fight.

“Let me see my mom, or I won’t go inside! Even if you kill me, I won’t bug an inch!”

“You dare me now? Aren’t you worried about your mom?” Edsel brought her mom up again.

Giselle shook her head, let out a dry chuckle, “Want me to go in? Fine! I will go in there and let everybody know that I’m not Tina! You deceived the Bailey for their money and power! And your girl Tina? She sneaked out with her boyfriend. She once wanted to take advantage of Marcus. But when she realized how wrong she had been, she ditched him! Do you want me to tell them this? I bet you, Marcus would be so pleased to hear this!”

“Are you threatening me now? Omega! Know! Your! Place!”

Edsel could not help but shout out loud.

“Giselle?”

From behind the two, a voice rang out.

Unfortunately, Edsel’s uncontrol shout reached someone who should not be here right then: Marcus.

The two quickly turned. Upon seeing Marcus, Edsel’s face turned pale, “Marcus, what are you doing here?”, his voice sounded odd.

Not only did Edsel who felt like being caught off guard, but also Giselle did, too.

Hearing the name Edsel spoke out, Giselle felt like she had been struck by lightning. Her whole body was stiff. Her mouth mumbling but no words could escape. She was too stunned to speak.

Marcus! Marcus Bailey!

He was Marcus from the bar that day. He was also the Marcus who walked with her along the riverside that day. And top it all off, he was the Marcus Bailey that she would get married to in just a few minutes!

Holy carp!

“Oh my God!”

Giselle mumbled. She trembled as she hurried to turn to look in another direction.

Fuck!
