CHAPTER FORTY

Andrew wrestled in the old Alpha's grasp without any success. He thrashed, struggling to catch his breath, his face flushed and pale as he gasped.

"I promised." Douglas bit out, "and I always keep my promises, Andrew."

Douglas proceeded to ram him into trees, punching and suffocating him. Andrew found himself unable to defend himself or fight back. He didn't know if it was fatigue or the lack of oxygen in his brain that left him flabby in his father's hands.

He didn't resist, he allowed the old alpha to hit him.

With each blow, Douglas's rage heightened. He plunged his claws into his shoulders, twisting them until he heard the satisfying crunch of a breaking bone. He withdrew his hands and elbowed his nose, repeating the hit until the blood gushed out from it like an open tap.

He tossed him into a tree with so much force that the tree split into two. Stepping on his neck he picked a large splinter from the tree and plunged it into his chest, enjoying the sickening crack of his ribs a
