Hello my beautiful people! I'm back with multiple updates for you in light of the holiday season. word of the day: Panphobia.
DANTEI couldn't believe what I was hearing. "You want me to give you fifty generations of werewolves as slaves?" I asked, my voice shaking with disbelief. "That's preposterous! Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?" I struggled to keep my emotions in check, but I could feel my anger building. One of the witches let out a laugh that was half mocking, half hysterical. "Ridiculous?" she asked, her voice ringing with false amusement. "Do I look like I'm joking," I said growling."It wasn't ridiculous when our kind was captured by your forefathers and used for horrible experiments?" She paused for a moment, her voice trembling with barely controlled fury. "They were tortured during the day and night," she said, her eyes blazing with rage."But that was in the past!" I yelled, cutting off the witch before she could continue. "I know what my forefathers did was wrong, and I'm willing to make things right. That's why we're here, isn't it?" I searched the witches' faces, trying to
DANTE.The sound of the door closing echoed through the room, and I let out a long, slow breath. The tension in my body slowly began to uncoil, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I stood there, alone in the room, and tried to clear my mind. But it was no use. I was still reeling from the events that had just transpired. I needed to regain control, so I decided to call a meeting of the elders. "All of you assemble now," I reached out to the elders of my pack through a mind link. The door opened, and the elders of the pack filed into the room, murmuring amongst themselves. But the moment they caught sight of me, they fell silent. "We rushed here as soon as we got your message," one of the elders said. "We hope everything is alright." "Everything is not alright," I said, taking a deep breath. looking each of them in the eye. "The witches were here," I said, my voice devoid of emotion. "They dared to intervene in our territory." One of the elders' eyes widened in disbelief. "Ho
Chapter 16Vanessa's POVMy heart was racing as I climbed the stairs to my room, my breath coming in short gasps. I was feeling a mix of emotions: sadness, and confusion. Why did the alpha have to be so rude to me? I was perplexed at the sudden change of emotions in Alpha Dante, one moment he was sweet with me, and the next he suddenly became cold which left me wondering if I had done anything wrong.I let out a deep sigh as I made my way back to my room. Maybe if I could just get away from the situation for a moment, I could clear my head and figure out what had just happened. I entered the room, closing the door behind me. The silence was deafening, and I felt overwhelmed by the stillness. I sank down onto the bed, my head spinning. I tried to focus on the moment, on the here and now, but my thoughts kept racing back to the alpha and what had happened. Then I remembered the guard coming over to talk about a witch, was that what spoilt his mood?A soft knock on the door startled me ou
Chapter 17Vanessa's POVI drifted off to sleep, the rustling of the leaves and the chirping of the birds lulling me into a peaceful slumber. I woke up to the sounds of someone moving around the room. I opened my eyes, still half-asleep, and saw Dante getting dressed. I sat up quickly, feeling wide awake now. I cleared my throat awkwardly trying to get his attention. "We need to talk," I said in an urgent tone. He turned to look at me, his expression unreadable. "What's going on?" he asked, his voice calm.I tried to speak, but my words came out in a stutter. "About what happened yesterday." I finally managed to say "I have a lot on my plate today, whatever it is can wait," he interrupted, putting on his wristwatch. I felt my frustration building, but I forced myself to stay calm. "But I..." I started, but he was already out the door, the sound of the door slamming behind him. I stood there, the words I wanted to say dying on my lips. I felt so many emotions swirling inside me: fr
Chapter 18Vanessa's POVI sat down on the bed, watching Aphrodite as she moved around the room, selecting an outfit for me to wear for dinner. I felt my eyelids drooping, and I let out a long yawn. I laid back on the bed, the softness of the mattress enveloping me. I closed my eyes and fell asleep, my mind finally quiet and at peace. I was jolted awake by Alice's voice, calling my name. "My lady, it's time," she said, gently shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes slowly. "Time for what?" I asked, stretching my body. "The dinner my lady," Aphrodite said, her voice pulling me out of my slumber. My eyes flew open, as realization hit me. "Oh my," I said as I jumped out of bed, my heart racing. How could I have forgotten about the dinner? The Alpha was going to be so angry with me. I rushed into the bathroom, with Aphrodite close behind me. I hurried through my bath, trying to get ready as fast as possible. Aphrodite helped me, her deft fingers applying a light dusting of powder to my
Chapter 19Vanessa's POVI hurried back to my room, breathing a sigh of relief as I closed the door behind me. I quickly pulled off my shoes and threw my clothes on the floor. I ran a hand through my hair, packing it into a messy ponytail. I went inside the bathroom, turned on the tap, and poured cold water over my face and neck. I looked at myself in the mirror taking a deep breath, willing myself to relax.I came out and put on a light red gown, transparent enough to show the silhouette of my body. I laid down on the bed, trying to relax and clear my mind, but I couldn't stop thinking about what had just happened. I tossed and turned, my mind spinning. Finally, I gave up and decided to try to read a book to take my mind off things. I made my way to the closet, where I had a small collection of books, and pulled one out. I settled back into bed and began reading, trying to focus on the words on the page. But within minutes, my eyes grew heavy and I drifted off to sleep.I woke up wit
Chapter 20Vanessa's POV "Of course, I can manage," I said, taking Drake's hand. A smile played across my lips, despite the tension between him and Dante. "Your gown is beautiful, just like you," Drake said, making me smile, while leading me to the dance floor. He kept on teasing me while dancing. I couldn't help but laugh, I saw Dante out of the corner of my eye, his fist clenched at his side. His face was red with anger, and I wondered what had gotten into him. He had never acted this way before. I tried to push the thought out of my mind, instead focusing on the music and my steps. After dancing, I was introduced to some of the elders in the pack. We all ate and were entertained by dancers. The party eventually came to an end, and I said my goodbyes. I made my way to my room, I entered the room and noticed Dante pacing in the room, his fist clenched. His knuckles were white, and his face was a deep shade of red. He looked up as I approached, his eyes burning with anger, and I was
Chapter 21Vanessa's POV "Please, it's not what you think!" I protested, trying to pull my hand away. But he only held on tighter, pulling me towards our room with surprising force. He flung open the door to the room and shoved me inside, causing me to hit the bedside table and lose my balance. I landed on the bed with a thud, staring up at him in horror. His eyes were blazing, his jaw clenched. "So all the drama you pulled yesterday was just to create an opportunity to warm my cousin's bed?" he snarled, his voice thick with rage."I can't believe I almost fell for your lies yesterday," Dante said, a mix of hurt and anger in his eyes. "I almost bought your pitiful act," he went on, shaking his head in disbelief. "Let me explain," I pleaded, my voice quivering. But he wasn't listening. "Shut up!" he snapped, his tone biting. I took a deep breath, willing my trembling voice to be steady. "Seriously everything was just a coincidence, if you would just give me a chance to -" Before I
