Eva is of average height, and had a vicious charismatic spirit. I stared into her emerald green eyes which were clouded with worry and concern. Within a second it disappears, like as though it wasn't there.
She whips her golden neatly braided ponytail over her shoulder with a soft smile. She doesn't push it, and I'm grateful for that. "How does girls night sound?" she asks me with a wink. I blink, "what?" I choke out in surprise.
"Oh come on, you never have fun, you're always thinking or worrying. At least, just for tonight, please.." she pleads, blinking her cute eyes at me. I turn away with a heavy sigh. "alright." I say in agreement, finally giving in.
"Really?" she squeals in excitement. I nod, a small smile forming on my lips. She gives me a tight hug nearly squeezing the air out of my lungs, before pulling away. "I'll finish my shift soon, wait for me." she whispered before hurrying back to her post.
Eva was the only person I could communicate with, to a certain degree. If I hadn't met her, or if she wasn't here; I don't know how I'd cope. This was her way of cheering me up.
Finally, I pushed aside the ill feeling I had concerning Mr. Knot and carried on with the cooking.

In this town called Helium, there are different classes of people. They consist of: the rich, the poor and the average class.
Being rich in Helium comes with benefits, popularity and a sense of power. However, it is the complete opposite when it concerns the poor who live here.
I'm extremely lucky to be from an average family. I had access to certain privileges, but its not the same with the rich. They have access to all the possible privileges. Living in Helium is about survival, power, wealth and position.
"Where do you think we should head to first?" I hear Eva ask, I blink snapping out of my thoughts. "Um.. I.. have no idea, you choose." I suggested, she stares at me blankly for a moment before she begins to bounce once more in excitement.
'Where does she get this much energy from?' I thought to myself.
"I know just the place, come on." she said, pulling me along. It's been over thirty minutes since both our shifts had ended.
Though it isn't too late to go for a tour, and probably have something to eat too. Being late wouldn't be good for either of us, so we had to be quick.
Eva stops in front of a beautifully designed restaurant, it seemed natural yet familiar. My thoughts are interrupted by the smell of grilled meat.
Before I can completely gather my thoughts, she pulls me along while she leads the way. "This is the best, trust me." she says, while leading us both to the counter.
We take a seat by the window, and not too long after; a waiter comes to take our order. "The bill is on me." Eva says, and I nod. "I'll take some..." I hear her say to the waiter, before I zone out completely. Not noting what she had ordered for us both.
Suddenly, the air went completely quiet, even Eva had gone quiet. I look around to see a tall man with a well built physique, with blue black hair and eyes as blue as blue sapphires.
He also wore a black mask I noted, watching as his bodyguards followed him to the counter wordlessly.
Everyone's eyes were on him now, but he didn't seem to care or notice. "Hayden Wren," Eva whispers and I whip my head in her direction.
"Hayden Wren.. Who is he?" I ask, and her eyes widen in disbelief. "You mean you don't know him?" she asks again and I shake my head to affirm.
Eva face palms herself before replying, "he is the youngest and most successful billionaire in town.
He has many fans and enemies alike." She explains briefly and I digest the information. My eyes flutter to my right, where he was calmly sitting; eyes scanning the menu.
"How was I to know?" I mumble, picking on the food that had been served to us both some moments ago. "It's because you don't go out much." she says dismissively, ending our conversation. She begins to eat soon after as well. I pause, that was true; totally true.
I look up from my plate, but my breath gets caught in my throat up; when I accidentally lock eyes with him. I've never seen anything as beautiful as his eyes.
It takes all my mental strength to look down at my plate, though I could still feel his eyes boring holes into my head.
I try not to think too much of it as I chew my food. Soon, my mind is completely occupied by different thoughts that I forget about Mr. Hayden for a while.
When I eventually look back up, when I'm done with my meal, he was gone; with no trace. I turn towards the window, and stare into the night sky while waiting for Eva to finish up; "Hayden Wren..." I mutter with a faint smile on my lips.
---
Eva had insisted we should walk home together, to which I reluctantly agreed. We both lived in the same neighborhood, so it wasn't much of a problem.
With a sigh, I find myself walking back to my personal hell after bidding Eva a goodbye.
My thoughts kept drifting back to the mysterious billionaire I had locked eyes with at the restaurant, Hayden Wren.
I couldn't help but wonder why he had kept looking at me, even when I had looked away. What I didn't realize was that something terrible was waiting for me at my doorstep.
As soon as I spot the familiar figure sitting at the steps, with a bottle of alcohol in one hand and the other in his hair. Dread immediately washed over me, and I suddenly couldn't move. "Father?" I whisper, "don't call me father, brat." He spat.
After the introduction on stage, Hayden officially opened the event; with a toast. "You stay with Mira, I'll be right back." He had whispered in my ears, after Thomas had whispered in his. I had just nodded, watching him leave with a surprisingly serious face. It seemed something serious had happened. Mira appears behind me, moments later. Silently, she escorts me to a seat, where I stay quietly for a while. Absorbing all the details of my current surrounding. The fact that this party had been held just for me sinking in deeper. I had totally forgotten that today was my birthday. I had been so overwhelmed with the grief of loosing my mother, that I had forgotten what true happiness felt like. From the corner of my eye, I could see Mira move closer to me. Before crouching down to my level, in front of me. She opens her mouth to speak, but is interrupted by the sound of clicking heels. Which I hate to say, was drawing nearer. "Oh my, why do you look so depressed?" A familiar
Third Person Pov:In the dark room, there sat Paul E. It seemed lost in thoughts, the only light in the space seeping in from a neglected crack in the wooden wall. He had ordered that no one disturb him, but they had just received some good news. He needed to know, so one of them gathered enough courage to approach him. During his seldom alone time."Pardon my intrusion," the spy says, eyes low and head bowed. Paul clicks his finger against the glass of whiskey he had been drinking, before setting it down gently. He releases a whistle, "You better have a good reason for interrupting me, unless you are prepared to die.. that is." He says, cocking his head to the side, clicking his tongue. The spy swallows, willing his vocal cord to open up as he braces himself. "We've got incredible news, sir." He starts, peeking Paul's interest immediately. Paul flicks a hand, his back still turned away from him as he urged the spy to carry on. "Mr Hayden has organised an event for tonight. He wi
Changing from dress to dress was exhausting, and the funny part?We bought more than one dress, well technically he bought them for me... but that's not the point. The point is, we went shopping for a dress, but came back with countless dresses.I sigh, carrying some bags as we near the car. He pauses, hands over the bags he was carrying to a guard; then he turns to me."I forgot something, I'll quickly go get it. You get in, I'll be with you soon." He says, and without waiting for my reply he turns around swiftly and makes his way back. I slowly shut my mouth, swallowing the words I wanted to say.I let the guards escort me back to the car, and watched them put the bags in the boot. Before opening the door to the passengers seat, and then slipping in, shutting the door after me.The driver gets in, while the guards remain standing at strategic positions to ensure my safety before Hayden returns. I sigh softly, turning away from the window, as the silence envelopes me while I wait for
Just like every normal work day, I had woken up early this morning. It took a lot of will power to drag myself out of bed, especially after the stress I had yesterday. I just couldn't shake off the cold tingling chills which run down my spine each time I'm around Loreen. Ever since she resumed work, I've spotted her staring intently at me. It felt off, it felt cringe... it felt like 'danger'. I sigh, eyes still on my reflection in the bathroom, my mind drifting to another problem. Then there's Hayden, who somehow managed to creep into my head and remain there. I just couldn't shake the feeling that things had changed a bit. Maybe it was the way he spoke to me or the way he was always there when I needed him. Whatever it was, a part of me is scared to find out. Especially after the ordeal with my dad as a child. The trauma of the abuse has left life long scars in my heart, because of that; I fear attachment of any kind. Specifically, to Hayden. I shake my head, clearing the clo
Third Person Pov: The silence in the car was awkward as they progressively drove to their destination. Hayden focuses on his tablet, the sound of his fingers moving on the keyboard filling the air. Thomas on the other hand, is busy on the phone. Sweat sliding down the poor driver's head. The silence was tense and thick, as thick as a blanket. Suddenly, Thomas locks his phone abruptly, turning to Hayden with a sluggish grin on his face. "Why do you look so uncomfortable?" Thomas teased. Despite Hayden's face remaining neutral, his body betrayed him. Thomas could see him stiffen for a moment. "What do you mean?" Hayden asks, voice slightly tense, as he focuses more intensely on his tablet. "I don't know...but; it seems you've gotten so used to her being in the same car as you." Thomas adds, whistling as he faces the window. Hayden stiffens, before baring his teeth at Thomas with a warning glare. "Mind your tongue, unless you want to show up in more than one piece." He
Third Person Pov: The ride was unusually long today. Though it didn't feel tense. It felt normal. Normal... It had become 'normal' to come to work everyday with River. Hayden had no idea how this had come to be. Either way, he was perfectly fine with it. With a sigh, he heard River shut the notebook infront of her. Before turning her eyes back to the window. She seemed... worried. Bothered even. He wanted to know what is was. What was bothering her too much? The strange feeling crawling back in his chest. That feeling he had, the one which felt like he wanted to take away all her pain; and erase anyone who caused her discomfort or harm. He couldn't stop himself, and he didn't know why. "Speak." He finally says, breaking the silence which had settled over them both for a while. His voice cutting through it like a clean blade. He could feel his driver tense, but fortunately the man didn't say or do anything stupid. River only sighed once more, peaking his curiosity
Eva I'm well aware of how bad the situation is, but this... isn't what I had expected. I haven't fully recovered my vision, for who knows how long? I was aware they were probably giving me sedatives to keep me from completely regaining my consciousness. I could only imagine where they had kept my sister and father. I could feel my eyes droop, the more I tried to keep them open. My hands and legs were tied to each side of the chair. I turn my head to the side with an agonising groan, the action alone taking a lot of energy from me. I force my eyes open one more time, trying to take in my surroundings. It seemed they had locked me away in a dark room. The carton boxes around making it look like an abandoned basement or storage room. I couldn't see any sign of my family here, and there was no sound from the environment to give off a hint of their current condition. This placed me in a panicked state, as I immediately began to thrash in the ropes I had been tied in. I needed to fin
It'd been a few days since Mr. Thomas had come to take me back. The question he had asked me that day still lingering in my mind. This morning, both I and Hayden had come to office together as usual. He had also smiled at me, before going up to his office. Even though, it was small it meant a lot. I couldn't erase it from my mind afterwards. Moments later, i found myself happily humming as I worked in the kitchen. Making sure to make the orders as quickly as I could without any delay. I was almost done rounding up the last order, when I heard a familiar voice call my name from behind. I pause, stiffening a bit, before turning around. I arc a brow in question, seeking answers from him for suddenly interrupting me. The guy who had called me was Jake. He had a jovial and naive personality being around him felt like a breath of fresh air. Though the little charisma he gave off, often reminded me of Eva more than i cared to admit. He clears his throat, stuttering before he speaks.
Third Person Pov: It was already time to go home for the night. River stiffens as the word hits her like a hard brick.'Home...'It just couldn't leave her mind. With a heavy sigh, she pulls the apron over her head. Ensuring to hang it where its meant to be, before reporting to Miss Sasha."I'll be on my way now. Take care, Miss Sasha." River says, peeking in through the wooden door, leading to Miss Sasha's office. She hums in reply. Her reading glasses were currently on, and her attention seemed fixated on the documents she was currently going through."Get home safely." Miss Sasha adds, finally lifting her eyes off the documents, and then turning to look at River.River blinks, taken aback by the sudden concern. With a nervous laugh, she brushes it off quickly. "I will." River says in reply, with a small smile.Getting her bag ready to walk out the door. Expecting to see Hayden, but instead... Its Mr. Thomas standing there, at the entrance; waiting for her. Arms crossed in a non-c
