Chapter Eleven-Ansley

Joanna, the pitcher, shoved me from behind and slung her arm over my shoulder. "Are you coming to Hogs with us?" she asked, pushing her sweaty hair from her forehead.

I fought my instinct to look at Madden for permission, but when I did, he stared off in the distance. Slowly, I followed his line of sight, to the nearest parking lot where someone stood staring our way.

It was hard to tell if it was Marcus or not from the distance, however Madden must have thought it was him, because his body was tensed, both hands curled into fists.

"What's going on with G.I Joe?" Joanna whispered into my ear.

I bit back my chuckle, glancing at Remy standing beside Madden. "Good game," he said. "You really showed out, out there."

"Thanks. I think I do want to go to Hogs. I need to speak to Cindy Kate anyway."

Joanna smacked my shoulder, and jogged off with some of the other girls. Normally I would go find Sarah, but she'd disappeared right after the game, probably distraught since Madden called her out
