Chapter Eleven: I accept 2

"I accept your proposal Mr Gerano," Charlotte said and waited to see Sebastian's reaction.

However, Sebastian didn't show any expression on his face. He neither looked happy nor sad at the news of her accepting to marry him and this made it difficult for her to guess what was running through his mind.

"Let's sit and talk, Miss Brooks," Sebastian merely said after a moment of silence, in a flat tone.

Charlotte nodded and walked over to Sebastian's desk but she was stopped by Sebastian before she could sit down.

"Why are you going over there?" Sebastian asked.

"You said we should sit and talk. I'm going over to sit," Charlotte answered.

"I wasn't referring to that seat," Sebastian said.

"Then which seat were you referring to?" Charlotte asked, confused.

Sebastian rolled his eyes at Charlotte's question. She belonged to such a rich family and yet she didn't know his office had a private room.

"Haven't you ever been to your brother's office?" He asked.

"Yes I have but what does have to with any of th… " Charlotte paused as she finally understood what Sebastian meant.

"Hey, it's not my fault. The only CEO's office I've been to is my brother's. I didn't realize all CEOs had a private room," she quickly defended herself.

"Well now you know," Sebastian replied simply and walked over to a wall and pressed a button on it.

A door instantly became visible and it led to a room. "After you," Sebastian said and opened the door. Charlotte entered the room and so did Sebastian.

It was Sebastian's private room in his office where he stayed if he needed to work late.

It was like his mini home equipped with basic amenities including a bathroom and a restroom.

Sebastian walked over to the sofa in the room and sat on it before turning his eyes to Charlotte. "Sit, our conversation is going to take a while. You'll get tired of standing," He said gently and tapped on the sofa.

Charlotte was hesitant to sit on the sofa. It was a double sofa which meant that she and Sebastian would be really close.

What if he tried to kiss her again like yesterday?She didn't try to stop him then and she knew she wouldn't try to stop him now either.

He had a terrible effect on her; one that would make her lose all her senses of reasoning.

"What are you thinking about?" Sebastian asked with a flat face. "Don't worry Charlotte, I won't try to kiss you again," He said before she could answer.

He knew that was what was running through her mind therefore he assured her and he didn't plan on breaking his word.

"Sit down Miss Brooks," Sebastian said once again as he tapped the sofa and this time, Charlotte listened and sat down on the sofa.

"So what do you want to talk about Mr Gerano?" Charlotte asked. She wanted this meeting to be over and done with as she did not trust herself around Sebastian.

"I want to talk about the terms of the contract," Sebastian replied as he looked intently at Charlotte.

"What are the terms you want to be present in the contract Mr Gerano," Charlotte asked, trying to maintain her distance from Sebastian.

"First of all, you should call me by my name. It would raise too many questions if you call me Mr Gerano in front of people," Sebastian said.

He was right. If she was going to be his wife, she would have to call him by his name.

However, she was reluctant to do so as it would mean they were getting closer to each other; something Charlotte didn't want to happen.

She swore never to get close to any man and she planned to keep it that way but lately, Sebastian had been breaking that resolve.

Sebastian noticed that Charlotte was lost in her thoughts once again.

He snapped his fingers and she came back to reality. "What were you thinking about, Charlotte?" He asked in a deep voice.

Hearing Sebastian call her name so deeply made Charlotte so nervous that her stomach started to churn. "I wasn't thinking about anything Sebastian."

He raised his eyebrows as a smile appeared on the corner of his lips. "You are a terrible liar Charlotte. If you're going to lie to me, the least you should do is to sound convincing."

Charlotte bit her lips when she heard Sebastian's words. She herself knew that she was a terrible liar but what else could she do?

How could she tell him that she didn't want to call him by his name because she was afraid of getting too close to him? It would make her sound crazy.

"It's nothing important," Charlotte said. "Can we please get back to business. I haven't eaten anything all day and I'm starving."

"Okay then," said Sebastian as he stood up and walked over to one of his drawers. He opened it and brought out a document which he handed over to Charlotte.

"What is this?" Charlotte asked suspiciously as she examined the document sitting on her lap.

"These are the terms I propose. Go through each of them carefully and ask me about anyone you do not understand," Sebastian said as he went back to sitting beside Charlotte.

"You already had this prepared?" Charlotte asked in surprise as she gazed upon the document.

The document had at least ten terms and conditions Sebastian wanted her to agree to.

He must have prepared it way before he asked her to get married to her as there was no way he could have done this in less than twelve hours.

"Hmm, I already prepared this before telling you about my proposal" Sebastian answered.

"What?" Charlotte asked, confused. "What if I had said no to your proposal?"

"I knew that wasn't going to happen," Sebastian said confidently.

"Really? And how did you know I was going to say yes to your proposal?"

"I had faith in my business skills. I always get what I want and you weren't going to be any different," Sebastian said casually.

Charlotte felt the pain in her stomach return as she heard Sebastian's words.

The media wasn't lying when they said he was an arrogant and proud man who always achieved his goal. He had intended for her to say yes to his proposal and she did exactly that.

She didn't reply to his statement. Instead, she went back to reading the document.

Her eyes widened as she read through the document. How did he come up with such terms? Was he crazy or something?
