Chapter Twelve: Kiss me

Charlotte's eyes widened in shock as she read through the document. How did Sebastian come up with such a term? And did he really think that she would agree to it?

"It says here that after we get married, I will live in your house and we will sleep in the same bedroom?" Charlotte asked.

"What do you think people will say if you live at your house after our marriage?" Sebastian asked.

Charlotte rolled her eyes. He was talking to her as if she was a five year old. "I understand that part Sebastian, I'm not dumb. Of course, I'm going to stay in your house after we get married... "

"That's good to hear," Sebastian retorted.

Charlotte hissed sharply but she did not reply to Sebastian's sarcastic statement as that would just make her mad and she did not have the strength to get mad.

"Why do we have to sleep in the same room? We are not going to be a real couple so there is no need to sleep in the same room."

"You really are innocent Charlotte," He said and pinched her cheek gently.

"Hey, that hurts. Stop pinching me!" Charlotte grumbled.

Sebastian listened to her and let go of cheek "Have you met my brother?" He asked

"Why are you asking me such dumb questions?" She asked in annoyance. "I'm not a child you know."

"But you are behaving like one," said Sebastian.

"You have met my brother and within the short time you've spent together, you should have noticed that he does not know what privacy means. He comes in and goes out as he likes and that is not limited to my office. Imagine what he would think of us if he barged into my house one day and found us sleeping in different rooms What do you think will happen?."  Sebastian asked.

Charlotte bit her lip hard. Why was this  man always right? No! She wasn't going to accept defeat this time. "What if we told him we got into a fight and that's why we sleep in different rooms?" said Charlotte and she regretted saying that as soon as the words came out of her mouth.

Why was she saying such dumb things? She never spoke like this. It must be because of Sebastian. That was the only logical explanation she could come up with. She would have to do some about this or else she would continue to make a fool of herself in front of him.

Sebastian laughed at Charlotte's statement. Was his future wife really that naive or was she just pretending to be naive? He didn't know her well enough to answer this but the truth was that he liked her better this way. She looked so cute and it would be very easy for him to fool her.

"Oh really, and Diego is supposed to believe that? He is not dumb you know," Sebastian said

"Ok Ok, I see that it is not a good plan to sleep in separate rooms but are we going to sleep on the same bed?" She asked in a whisper as she leaned forward anxiously waiting for his reply.

Sebastian also leaned forward invading Charlotte's personal space . "Where else are we going to sleep?" He asked sarcastically.

Charlotte immediately jumped up. "Oh no Mr Gerano, it's bad enough that I'm getting married to you but there is no way I'm going to sleep on the same bed with you. Never"

Sebastian leaned back causally on the sofa and crossed his legs. "Are you scared of something happening between us?" He asked shamelessly.

After hearing Sebastian's shameless question, Charlotte's face and ears turned red. How could he say such things casually and with a straight face.

Of course she was afraid of something happening between them. He had almost kissed her last night and she didn't try to stop him. There was no way something would not happen if they slept on the same bed for a year.

Sebastian on the other hand was enjoying Charlotte's reaction. She was really easy to mess with.

"No, I'm afraid of something happening; I don't just feel comfortable," Charlotte answered.

"OK then, we won't sleep on the same bed," said Sebastian.

Charlotte heaved a sigh of relief but this was cut short as she heard Sebastian's next words.

"You can sleep on the couch."

"What!" Charlotte yelled. "What kind of a man are you?" She asked irritably.

"You'll get to know very soon," Sebastian said with a smile on his face but Charlotte felt like his words were more of a threat than a statement. She could tell that there was a hidden meaning behind it but she was too mad to think about it.

"We can discuss where you'll sleep later. Let's continue with the terms and then conditions," Sebastian said firmly.

Charlotte reluctantly sat down back on the sofa. She picked up the document and continued reading it.

"It also says here that I will be entitled to some of the Gerano shares and properties which I have to give back. Don't bother giving me anything

I do not want them," Charlotte said. She did not want anything belonging to the Geranos as she wasn't going to stay as long as their daughter in law. This should be given to the right person and that definitely wasn't her.

"It is not up to me to give you those shares and properties Charlotte. It is a Gerano family tradition which cannot be broken," Sebastian said. "Immediately you become my wife, my father will send the lawyer to give you some papers which you'll have to sign whether you like it or not," he explained further.

"And I give them back after one year?" Charlotte asked as that was what she understood from the term.

"You do not plan to keep them after our divorce?" Sebastian asked.

"Of course not. I don't even want them in the first place."

"Good, then that is settled. Next term you do not understand…."

Charlotte spent the next five minutes carefully reading  through the document as she didn't want to sign a contract that would not benefit her.

She was satisfied with the rest of the terms and conditions except one.

"What do you mean by I will have to behave like your wife in public places whether I like it or not?" She asked as she knew there was more to this term.

"It is as it is written. We will behave like we are a happily married couple in front of the world and you and I will do whatever it takes to convince them," Sebastian explained.

"Whatever it takes? Does this include kissing you?" Charlotte asked in a shaky voice.

"If the situation calls for it, then yes," Sebastian answered. He noticed the look of terror as she heard his answer. "Have you ever been kissed by anyone Charlotte?"

"Yes I have. Why would you even ask me such a question Sebastian?!" Charlotte asked in a high tone, trying to sound offended. The truth was that she had never kissed anyone before as she hated the concept of relationships, therefore, she had distanced herself from men.

Sebastian raised his eyebrow questioningly while his lips broke into a smile again. He hardly smiled but for some reason, he had been smiling more than usual. "You know, you really are a terrible liar. So you haven't kissed anyone before," Sebastian said.

Charlotte got up to her feet and crossed her arms. "I'm not lying. I have been kissed before."

Sebastian didn't say anything. He instead grabbed Charlotte by the waist and pulled her into his laps.

"Sebastian, what are you doing?" Charlotte asked as she struggled to break free from Sebastian's hands but she couldn't even move an inch as his grip was too strong for her.

"I do not believe you. Why don't you prove it to me?" Sebastian whispered in her ear.

"What? How am I supposed to prove it to you?" Charlotte could feel her face turning red and her heart beating fast in her chest. She was so close to Sebastian that she could feel his breath on her skin. This was sending weird sensations down her spine.

Sebastian rested his chin on Charlotte's shoulder. "Kiss me," he whispered in her ear. Charlotte's body instantly froze and a gasp escaped from her lips as she heard Sebastian's demand.
