"Alpha, you should rest more. Your injury is more serious than it appears; you should not rely on your health." Marcus grumbled next to me as I insisted on seeing data related to the battle.

I tiredly rubbed my forehead and looked at him with warning eyes. "You talk a lot like a mother nagging her children. Will you stop?"

Marcus pursed his lips and sighed. "If I were your mother, I wouldn't want you to ruin your health like that."

Marcus's words made my hand freeze, impacting my heart strongly. If my mother were still alive, I would ask myself countless times in childhood, but no one could answer me.
