Chapter 41

I stood motionless, my eyes never leaving the dead wolves. I want to know what kind of solution they drank and where it came from.

Unconsciously, I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. I looked around, searching, and my eyes met Charles's emotionless one. I shivered involuntarily.

Since when has he been there? Maybe I was so absorbed in watching the battle that I didn't see him before. He slowly walked towards me. I gulped, trying to appear calm.

“Why did you come out here?” He asked coldly. Although his face was expressionless, without any fluctuating emotions, I felt he was in a terrible mood right now.

I pretended to be bewildered, explaining, “You ran out without saying anything to me. I didn't dare to stay in your office alone, so I went to find you. Then I heard a noise outside, so I ran out to see….”

Charles's expression showed impatience. He interrupted me, “go back to your room. You are not allowed to leave the room without my orders.”
