Ronan has a twin brother? How come I never knew?

How was that even possible? My stomach dropped. All these years, he'd kept me in the dark. According to everything he'd told me, he was an only child.

A bitter scoff escaped my lips.

That dog, Ronan. Maybe he betrayed his own brother too.

Rumors had always spread through the pack, calling him the devil in disguise, but I'd never believed them. I had been a fool, blinded by the illusion of his love.

If only I could turn back time... I'd drive a dagger straight through his eyes.

They think they've won?

No.This game is only just beginning.

I'm going to make them pay. I'll drag their names through the mud until they have nothing left.

Snap!

The sharp snap of fingers yanked me from my thoughts.

My gaze lifted to meet a pair of striking emerald-green eyes staring back at me with chilling indifference. His cold gaze sent an involuntary shiver crawling down my spine.

"I'm asking you a question, Zenaya."

His deep voice echoed through the room, his lips curling ever so slightly with disdain.

The way he said my name, It was as though he'd known me for years.

I swallowed, only to wince as a sharp pain tore through my sore throat.

"I... I don't understand what you're trying to say. How do you know my sister?"

The moment the word sister left my lips, it felt as though dozens of tiny daggers had been driven into my throat, making every breath burn.

"Sister?" That slut!

I dug my nails into my palm until a sharp pain shot through it.

"So much hatred."

The strange man, who looked exactly like Ronan and claimed to be his twin brother, let out a dry chuckle.

His emerald eyes dropped to my clenched fist. He must have noticed the anger I was struggling to contain.

But how could I be sure he wasn't a Skin Walker using me for his own twisted schemes?

That was how those creatures had deceived werewolves for centuries. They assumed the appearance of someone their victim loved, only to manipulate, steal from, or even kill them.

How could I be certain I hadn't fallen into one of their traps?

My gaze slowly drifted toward him.

He sat casually on the sofa across from the bed, one leg crossed over the other, while the gentle breeze stirred a few strands of his raven-black hair across his face.

He looked like a god. I quickly lowered my gaze.

Why in the world was I finding a man who looked exactly like the one who had ruined my life... handsome?

"You can stare all you want."

The corner of his lips lifted into the faintest smile before disappearing just as quickly.

Oops. He caught me.

Heat rushed to my cheeks, Shame! Shame! Shame.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper.

"We'll deal with that later." His expression turned cold once more. "I didn't save you because I wanted to. I saved you because I want you alive to pay for your sister's sins."

My fists clenched to stop them from trembling.

How was he connected to that witch?

And what exactly had Enya done to him? Never.

I wasn't paying for a crime I didn't commit. I'd rather throw myself into a lake.

My lips parted in confusion. "Can you tell me what she did?"

He slowly uncrossed his legs and leaned forward.

Rage flickered in his emerald eyes.

I could feel it. His wolf was threatening to surface.

"That whore..." he growled through gritted teeth. "Does she think running away instead of facing punishment for cheating on me means she's escaped death? Seven years..." His jaw tightened. "For seven years, she thought I'd forgotten what she did."

His eyes darkened. "After making my life a living hell.”

Everything stopped. My breathing, The wind, My heartbeat.

Even time itself seemed to freeze.

Every muscle in my body locked, and my heart lurched to a stop.

The room spun around me even though I was already seated weakly on the cold marble floor.

Wait... This...This was Enya's former mate.

The same Alpha she cheated on seven years ago.

The man who had cast her out for betraying him.

The man standing before me was none other than Alpha Aerion—the Supreme Alpha, the leader of all Alphas, a man so feared that even death seemed to follow a step behind him like a loyal shadow.

He was known as the Bloodthirsty Alpha.

The Alpha who had slain a Lycan King.

A man whose strength was so overwhelming that many believed he was destined to become the next Lycan.

When he walked into the room earlier, his presence alone had suffocated the air. Now I understood why.

The moment I laid eyes on him, every instinct I had screamed that he was an Alpha. But after losing my wolf, I could no longer sense the familiar bond between werewolves, so I convinced myself I was mistaken.

When Enya told me years ago that Alpha Aerion was her mate, I knew she wouldn't survive six months with a man like him. Spoiled, selfish, and incapable of loyalty, she proved me right. She lasted only five months before he cast her out for cheating on him.

Foolishly, I never believed his side of the story.

I thought it was nothing more than a scheme to get rid of her. I believed the rumors that called him ruthless, heartless, and thirsty for blood.

But now... Everything made sense.

No...Wait. If Alpha Aerion was Ronan's twin brother... Then...

My eyes slowly lifted to meet those striking emerald-green eyes, cold enough to freeze the soul.

This was Ronan's brother. The very brother Ronan had hated his entire life.

The same brother Ronan had recently tried to wage war against.

My throat went dry. If they were enemies...

Then where exactly did that leave me?

He rose gracefully from the sofa and strode toward me with slow, deliberate steps.

Every movement carried quiet authority. He stopped in front of me before crouching until we were eye level.

Realizing the God of Death himself stood before me, I instinctively looked away as goosebumps prickled across my skin.

Without warning, his hand shot out.

Strong fingers clamped around my jaw, firm and merciless.

A pained wince escaped my lips, but I refused to flinch.

"Cat got your tongue..." he murmured, his deep voice calm enough to be terrifying. "Or are you simply in shock?"

The rich scent of musk and cedar wrapped around me, making it impossible to ignore just how close he was.

For a moment, I couldn't think. I couldn't process what was happening.

"It seems the Moon Goddess brought you to me as a gift. I didn't bring you into my pack out of charity. If you want to live, you'll have to earn it."

He was right. Whoever entered the Obsidian Dominion Pack never came out alive. Even if I wanted to elope, I'd be caught, burned, and killed.

His grip on my jaw tightened as he leaned in slightly. His face was so close to mine that his warm breath fanned across my face. For some reason, it made something shift inside me—a feeling I couldn't understand. To my surprise, I found myself enjoying his firm grip on my jaw and the warmth of his breath against my face.

His eyes drifted from my face, trailing slowly down my neck before settling on my boobs. A muscle ticked in his jaw.

"If you want to survive in this pack, you'd have to be my little slut! You

will have to pay for your sister's sins."

His voice came out low and rough.

I nearly choked on my own breath.

My ex-mate's twin brother wants me to be his slut!?

I knew that voice. It wasn't the voice of someone with good intentions. I'd traveled through countless packs delivering herbs and letters. I'd crossed paths with rogues before—fought them, been wounded by them, even killed them. That was the voice of a rogue werewolf... or a trafficker.Without looking back, I bolted into the forest. It gave chase.A hungry growl echoed behind me, eager for the hunt. My instincts were correct.A ROGUE WEREWOLF.I bolted deeper into the woods, ignoring the leaves that lashed against my skin. My feet pounded the rain-soaked earth, sending muddy water splashing up my legs. The ground was slippery, but I didn't care."You can't run from me, cupcake. Tough human." Each breath felt like shards of glass slicing through my lungs.Dark veins crawled beneath my skin. I stretched out my hands for her to come back to me, to stay with me, but she stopped, turned slowly towards me, and vanished into the air."Noooooo!" I screamed, and all the pain I had felt was gone, replaced with emptiness.I had lost my child, lost my wolf, and also lost my mate!"Awww, so pitiful. She had lost her child and also her wolf.
