Zenaya’s POV

“What do you mean, military pack?” My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Something wasn’t right. Wasn’t this pack like any other normal pack?

I shut my eyes tightly, trying to calm myself down. Although I could hear faint sounds coming from outside, I was still curious about the kind of pack I had come to. Everything about this place seemed different from what I was used to, and the little information I had gotten so far only made me more curious.

I slowly rose from the ground and headed toward the window, wanting to take a look outside and see what was happening. Maybe then I would understand why this place felt so different.

But before I could reach the window, the door to the room suddenly flew wide open, making me jump out of my skin again.

What does he want now?

I turned slowly, my body tensing as I looked toward the doorway, only to find two ladies standing there and watching me.

One of them was dressed in a black leather military uniform that fitted neatly around her body. Her blonde hair was tightly and neatly packed, leaving not a single strand out of place. She looked serious and disciplined, especially with the way she stood straight, her boots firmly planted on the floor.

The other woman was dressed in a simple maid’s dress. Unlike the soldier, she looked much calmer, her hands resting neatly in front of her as she stood beside the other woman.

I frowned slightly as they both continued to look at me. I wasn’t sure what they wanted, and after everything that had happened since I arrived here, I was beginning to feel like every person who walked through that door had a reason for being there.

“How may I help?” I was forced to ask as my eyes moved between the two of them.

“Good morning,” they both greeted at almost the same time.

“Good morning,” I replied, still looking at them suspiciously.

“The reason why we are here is because the Alpha sent us,” the woman dressed as a soldier explained as she stepped forward. “He wants you to choose between joining the military or becoming a maid.”

My eyes widened slightly.

Wait, is this how it is?

I didn’t know it was actually this serious.

I had thought his words earlier were simply meant to scare me or make me understand that I couldn’t expect to be taken care of without contributing anything. But apparently, he had been completely serious. If I wanted to stay in this pack, I actually had to work for my place here.

My mind immediately went back to the conversation I had with him.

“I’m not giving you free shelter. If you want to live here, you need to earn it.”

His words suddenly echoed in my head, and I slowly looked back at the two ladies waiting patiently for my response.

I didn’t know how long I would be staying in this pack, or whether I could even trust the people here completely, but I knew one thing. I couldn’t continue living the way I had before.

My fingers moved toward my temples as I gently caressed them, trying to clear my thoughts.

After everything Ronan and that bastard sister of mine had done to me, I did not need to be weak anymore. I needed to train myself, physically and mentally, so there was no way I could be able to do that if I was a maid!

I stared at them again, studying their faces carefully. They looked completely fine, with no signs of doubt or concern about what they had just told me. It was almost as if choosing between becoming a maid and joining the military was a normal decision in this pack.

“I will go with the military,” I said at once.

The soldier nodded, seemingly satisfied with my answer.

“Very well.”

The maid bowed slightly before turning around and leaving the room, leaving just the soldier and me behind.

“Very well. It’s a good thing you picked the military house,” she said, looking at me. “Joining the military will make you ten times more powerful as a lady.”

I nodded slowly, taking in her words.

Powerful. That was exactly what I wanted.

I didn’t know if choosing the military was the right path for me, and honestly, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. From the way she had described it, the training was probably going to be difficult, and there was a possibility that I would struggle with it.

But I would have to follow through with my decision.

I didn’t have any other choice.

I couldn’t become a maid anymore. I had already spent enough of my life serving others. Ever since I was with Ronan, I had been treated like someone who existed only to do things for other people. I had spent so much time making myself small and putting everyone else before me that I had almost forgotten what it felt like to stand up for myself.

I didn’t want to live like that anymore.

If joining the military meant I had to become stronger, then I was willing to take the risk.

“I will go get you your uniform so I can take you to the training ground and show you what you are up for,” she said.

I nodded again.

She turned around and walked toward the door, but just as she was about to leave, she suddenly stopped.

She turned back to face me, and her expression had changed slightly.

“Your wolf is lost. Though I can sense that you were once a werewolf, the wolfless barely survive the training. Are you sure you want to go through with this?”

Her words echoed in my head.

Your wolf is lost.

My heart tightened.

I knew she didn’t mean it as an insult. There was no mockery in her voice, and she was simply warning me about what I was getting myself into. Still, hearing those words brought back everything I had tried so hard to push away.

My wolf.

The thing I had lost because of Ronan.

My chest felt tight, and anger slowly rose inside me as I thought about everything that had happened. If only I had never met that curse called Ronan. Maybe things would have been different. Maybe I wouldn’t have lost so much of myself.

My hands tightened into fists at my sides, trembling slightly as I fought to control my emotions.

“So be it. If I have to die in the training, then so be it. I do not care anymore. I’m intereste

d in joining,” I said.

The soldier looked at me for a moment before nodding.

“I will be right back.”

Zenaya povJudging from the way everyone stared at me in shock, it seemed like the person I had just insulted was someone important, maybe even someone royal. I had heard them calling him an Alpha, but honestly, I didn't care. My fingers were still pressed against my ear, and when I pulled them away, they were stained with blood. How dare he slice my ear like that? The pain was even worse because I was wolfless. Before, my wolf would have helped me heal almost instantly, but now even a small wound like this lingered, the sharp sting spreading through my ear and making my jaw tighten.“You shouldn't speak to Alpha Dieman like that,” Daniel suddenly said. His eyes widened as he looked at me, and I could see the fear clearly written across his face. His voice had dropped, almost as though he was warning me before I made things even worse. But I didn't care.I didn't care who the fuck this Alpha was.I glared at him, my hand falling slowly from my ear as anger burned through me. “How dare

“That’s enough. She’s new here, and she shouldn’t be judged by her appearance.”A man who looked to be in his thirties suddenly stepped forward from behind the others. His voice wasn’t harsh, but there was something firm about it that made the group fall silent. He looked older and more mature than everyone else around him, and from the way they seemed to listen to him, I guessed he was probably one of the elders. He turned his attention to me, his expression softening slightly.“Tell me, what’s your name?” he asked.I lowered my head, suddenly feeling self-conscious under everyone’s eyes. “Zenaya,” I replied quietly.“That’s a very nice name, Zenaya. Welcome to the Blood Moon Soldiers Pack, one of the bravest packs around.” He offered me a small, polite smile before continuing, “I’d like to know which pack you’re from. You don’t look like someone from this pack.”His question was polite, and there was no suspicion in his voice, but my heart immediately tightened. How was I supposed t

Getting out of the hallway, my jaw dropped as I caught sight of the huge camp surrounding the pack house.Unlike Ronan’s boring pack, this place looked completely different. Everything seemed more organized, more guarded, and somehow more dangerous. There were soldiers patrolling almost every corner, dressed in dark uniforms with weapons strapped to their bodies, their eyes constantly scanning their surroundings. Some of the men standing around looked nothing like ordinary wolves either. They had hard faces, intimidating builds, and an aura that made me instinctively lower my gaze whenever I passed them. There were several camping tents scattered around the pack house, but they weren't the small, ordinary tents I had imagined when I first heard the word camping. Most of them were large enough to accommodate several people, and they were arranged in neat rows around the compound. Then my eyes landed on something much bigger. There was a massive tent-like structure standing a short dist

Zenaya povNot long after, she came back, holding some kind of leather clothing in her hands. I frowned slightly as I tried to figure out what exactly she was carrying. From where I stood, I couldn't make out the details clearly, but the dark material immediately caught my attention. When she reached me, she held the clothes out to me.“Yeah, put on these clothes. These are the clothes the lady soldier put on,” she said as she handed them over.I took them from her slowly, my fingers brushing against the unfamiliar material. I looked down at the clothes in my hands, examining them carefully. They looked nothing like the clothes I was used to wearing, and judging by how heavy they felt, they were probably made to last.“I’ll be waiting for you outside,” she said. Before I could say anything, she turned around and walked out of the room, leaving me alone.I stared at the clothes for a few seconds before slowly placing them on the bed. My eyes remained on them as I tried to process every

Zenaya pov I shifted back in amusement, watching him closely. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips, and I almost burst out laughing. He must have thought I was some kind of joke, because I honestly didn't understand him.Who did he think he was? What did he think he was?Telling me I could be what? His personal slut?He must be joking. My amusement slowly faded, replaced by a cold look as I stared at him. His brother had used me all these years, and now, no one was going to be able to use me again. Not him. Not anyone.I lifted my lips into a mocking smile, holding his gaze without flinching.“You must be joking. I want to leave this pack,” I said, my voice calm but firm.I expected him to lash out. I expected anger, perhaps even rage, to flash across his face.Instead, he smiled. It wasn't a warm smile. It was cold, unsettling, and somehow more threatening than anger could ever be.His eyes darkened as he looked at me, and the amusement in them sent an uncomfortable chill d
