Elle’s POV

My back was killing me and the worst part was I didn’t even know when it would end.

I scoffed, blowing away unnecessary air.

How dare he make me kneel in front of his ridiculous chambers and write a silly letter of apology?

I mean who does he even think he is? A real king?!!!

Sure, maybe I shouldn’t have said that but it was the truth. The old man was being ridiculous. He was clearly just about to pin unnecessary hardship on the young man.

I did the right thing by saving an innocent person.

I should be awarded, not punished!

“Announce me,” I said to the door guard, ready to submit another letter of apology.

This was the third time in a row and he had to accept it. Another rejection would come with a punishment from me.

“Again!” He barked from inside. “Do it okay again.”

This was the third time. The third time!

I squeezed my fingers around the paper, raging.

Again, if it wasn’t for my father’s illness, what the hell would I be doing in a place like this?

I would be in school, pushing myself through whatever those ridiculous professors had for me.

And I thought they were bad.

Hah. They were angels compared to this one. A literal satan.

But there was nothing I could do. It wasn’t like I could lose such an opportunity of being in that arena, I had to be there until I got what I needed.

I drew in a deep breath, mustering up the fakest softest voice I could manage.

“Your majesty, I promise you this one is perfect. Really, you just need to take a look at it.”

“Again! Those were my instructions.”

I humphed, not giving up. “Trust me, you really don’t want me to toss this aside. It deserves to be in your royal library.”

Silence stretched.

Then the doors flung open, exposing the minion.

He said nothing and just stepped aside.

I smiled, not at him but at the prospects of finally being free.

Before going in, I took a moment to slowly run my eyes over him, sneering. He had laughed at me when I got the punishment, of course he deserved it.

“Your majesty, here.” I presented the paper to him.

His eye dropped low, taking it in. “What’s this?”

“My apology lette—.”

I looked down, noticing the paper I was holding.

“…oh shit.”

I froze.

It was the rumpled one. I had forgotten to change it.

I smacked my tongue, quickly snatching it back to get a new one from my pocket. That was when I noticed the minion making a side laugh.

I inhaled gently, avoiding the other pair of eyes as I struggled to get the papers out of my apron.

“Tea. Make it,” he ordered once, cutting my activity short.

“But I thought you wanted to see my apology?”

“And I thought you really needed the job?”

I darted my lashes around, pressing my lips against each other.

“Fine, I guess I’ll just hold onto my apology.”

I walked over to the small basic kitchen in his chambers and made a small prayer before starting.

Remembering exactly how I was taught in the kitchen, I followed every step to the teeth.

The size of the cup? Slightly bigger than normal.

The water temperature? Boiled for exactly four minutes, not one second less or more.

Exactly four.

Producing an unnecessaryly hot temperature.

As I poured the smoking water into the cup, I took a quick glance at him, wondering why anyone would want their tea that hot?

Was the water too afraid of him to burn his throat?

The leaves? “You must steep them for four minutes also,” the head maid had said to me.

What was his deal with the number four?

I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously.

Was he like a…four minute man?

My own wild thoughts almost made me trip over with laughter as I walked over to serve the tea.

I had to tighten my lips together to hold the laugh in.

Hmmm, but could he really be a four minute man?

I mean it was plausible. All that stoneface, what time would he have for any romance?

All he probably did was go straight to the point, chased his pleasure and left.

All but in the short minutes of the number four.

I pressed back the snicker threatening to rip from my lips.

“Your tea…my king. Done with precision, served with love and respect.”

He gave me one short look.

“Proper title is “your majesty,” Mr Minion butted in.

“Is there a difference…sir?” I fired back softly.

He shot me a frown and I rolled my eyes away, waiting impatiently for my tea to be tasted.

The more I waited, the more I looked to make sure every single detail was in place.

The tray.

The cup.

And the spoon.

It was all to perfection.

I smiled slightly while wondering why he won’t just pick up the damned cup.

It’s been three minutes already.

Perhaps, he was waiting for four.

I feigned a smile when really a gut wrenching laughter that would have me in grinch king's gallows was the goal.

Four minutes.

Five.

Oh, he changed the parade?

Six minutes passed and this cursed man just remained motionless, only flipping to the next page of his book.

“My king…your tea awaits your precious touch.”

He shot me another look. Darker this time.

Then returned to his page.

My wait continued.

So did his reading.

For another long four minutes.

I shifted slightly, looking at the minion who just snickered away.

I locked my jaw, getting to my fill.

At least he had to do something.

Sip the tea.

Reject it.

Hell, toss it at me but he had to do something.

I inhaled sharply. “My king, your tea is waiting for you.”

He didn’t look up. “I’m not blind.”

I frowned. “So why aren’t you taking it?”

“I was waiting.”

“For what?”

“For it to cool.”

I paused, glaring in confusion.

“What? You like it hot. Scalding even.”

He shot me a brief look. “I do.”

“So—o? Why the wait?”

Pause.

“That… is too hot.”

My eye twitched.

“Too hot?” I scoffed. “I boiled it for four minutes. YOU LIKE IT HOT!”

“I do. But this?”

He pointed.

“…Too hot. Get it out of my sight.”

My head ached.

“And alongside your apology, add the proper recipe to make the king’s tea.”

I blinked once.

Twice.

Then a third time just to be sure I wasn’t hearing the wrong things.

“What?”

“You heard me. Get back to writing.”

  • My Mate is a Vampire   Welcomed news

Mother Luna’s POVMy eyes widened as I listened to Thalia’s words.“What did you just say?” I asked, unable to hide my excitement.“I’m pregnant, your Grace.”“Wait, you mean you're carrying the king’s son?”She nodded. “Yes. I found out about it yesterday.”I gasped excitedly. This was more than happy news.At a time where a plan had gone terribly wrong, this was just what I needed to hear.“Oh my goodness, dear, I can’t believe this.”I pulled her closer by the arm. “Here, sit with me.”“Thank you, your Grace. You’re far too kind.”“No, you don’t need to thank me. You deserve more. You have done a wonderful job for the crown and if this is true, I assure you that you will not regret it. You will be compensated heavily.”She looked into my eyes. “It is true, your Grace. I will never lie about something like this.”Brief silence. “And it has been confirmed?”She nodded hastily. “Yes. By my private nurse.”I shook my head. “I do not doubt that but I must have the real physician make

  • My Mate is a Vampire   The Good News.

Thalia’s POVI walked into the mother Luna’s private courtyard, excited to share the good news. But just when I was about to show myself, I heard a familiar voice in a conversation with her.“What do you mean she’s not dead?” she asked harshly. His voice came up next, sounding a bit on edge.“Forgive me, your grace. Someone interrupted and I couldn’t complete the mission. However, I was able to injure her well enough that I don’t think she will survive it.”She scoffed. “You want me to put my faith in guess work?”“No.”“Then you should have made sure you did a good job from the beginning. I trusted you, Theron. I believe you will not disappoint me and that was why I gave you that opportunity to prove yourself. Now, what do I have? More problems on top of the one I already had.”“Your Grace—.”“She’s in the hands of the king, Theron.”He dropped to his knees. “I swear, she will not survive it. I swear it on my life.”She turned her head slightly to him. “Again, I do not deal with gues

Elle’s POVA soft knock sounded on my door.“Who is it?”“Princess, it is I. I brought you soup.” The voice of one of the women assigned to take care of me. She has been bringing me soup every day on the secret orders of Dreamir which surprised me. He didn’t want a child to be born but has been doing everything to ensure its safety. “Come in,” I said quietly and the door pushed open. The woman walked in, holding a tray in hand.“Here.” She placed it in front of me and I gave her a small smile. “Thank you. Although, you don’t always have to do this.”“Don’t say that, princess. This is my job.”I swallowed, suddenly tempted to ask a question that is burning in my mind.“Can I ask you a question?”She nodded. “Of course, anything at all.”Silas stretched for a moment. “You keep doing this for me, aren’t you scared of noting a child that could be a monster?”She said nothing for a while and just stared in silence. Finally, a small smile tugged at the corners of lips.“Over the centurie

  • My Mate is a Vampire   Attack Of The Mute

King Kerman’s POVI was in my room, thinking of the news I heard about Elle and the pregnancy. I still couldn’t believe it. Mostly because it just seemed like an impossible occurrence.I had checked all the books in the library to see one occurrence, but found none. Never had there been a conception between a vampire and a werewolf. In fact, the only thing I found in relation to the topic were the harsh punishments that came on anyone who involved themselves with something like that. Even though there had never been an occurrence, there were punishments in place for the parents and one thing was certain, the child couldn’t live to tell the story.I thought Elle would have come back to the palace so we could discuss our options since she knew very well that I of all people couldn’t cross to the other side. When she didn’t come, I took it as one of two things. It was either a lie or she still didn't want to see me. It could easily be any of the options and I wanted to stay back, ho

  • My Mate is a Vampire   A Beta On A Mission

Mother Luna’s POV“Your grace, the beta is here,” Rose said calmly. “Good. Invite him in,” I replied in kind, realizing I hadn’t been that relaxed in a while. The discovery of that solarian’s girl's real identity had almost made me destroy myself. However, plans were now in place and it was clear that nothing was going to stand between me and achieving them once this last piece was settled.“Your Grace,” Theron bowed.I smiled softly, gesturing to the chair in front of me. “Welcome Theron. Sit.”“Thank you.”I cleared my throat once. “I know you must be wondering why I invited you here.”He stared up at me. “I’m here to do whatever you wish, your Grace. You just have to give the command.”My smile widened. “Very good.”One thing I always liked about the beta was how he didn’t ask unnecessary questions. Once given a task, he did it without ever needing to know the reason and that was how I knew he would be good for this.“So I got into a bit of a problem a few months back,” I began.“

  • My Mate is a Vampire   Unchanging Decision

Elle’s POV“Are you going back to him?” Dreamir asked, following me into the room. It took long enough. I hadn’t seen much of them since I decided I was keeping the baby. It wasn’t just because he was avoiding me, I was also avoiding him. I knew what I was there to do but with new development, my mind was completely empty. I didn’t even know how to think.“Why do you say that?”“I don’t say it. It’s a question—one you should give a direct answer to. But by your silence, I think I can already guess what your answer is.”I dropped the clothes I was folding and stared up at him. “I don’t know, okay. I don’t know anything.”“Of course you do. We are supposed to be getting married in a few days. To complete the ritual. You're supposed to be my wife.”“And yet I’m carrying the child of another man.”He scoffed, dragging his thumb over his temple. “Child? You can’t even call that a child.”“What does that mean?”“You know exactly what it means.” he pointed to my stomach. “That’s a monste

  • My Mate is a Vampire   Elle, The King's Announcer.

Elle’s POV The head maid looked like she was having the time of her life as a first time teacher, telling me to repeat one thing over and over again when the minion came in that morning. “The king seeks your present.” He said king, I heard grinch. That was the name I decided he deserved anyway.

  • My Mate is a Vampire   Working For The Devil.

Elle’s POV “Uhm, hi…sir.” “How dare you! He is not sir. You must address him by his majesty’s title,” the minion yelled. I blinked, very dumbfounded. “His majesty? What is this? A secret movie? Where are the cameras?” I began looking around me. The minion rushed towards me as if he wanted to

  • My Mate is a Vampire   My Foul Mouth.

Elle’s POV “Jesus!!! Watch where you’re going, your fucking psychos, are you blind?” I yelled at the bloody Black suv that just spilled muddy water on me. There were two of them and they both stopped immediately, making a reverse. I didn’t mind that, I just focused my attention on the mess, try

  • My Mate is a Vampire   My Tainted Reputation.

Elle’s POV I threw myself on the bed, finally having the chance to find rest. My supposed roommate didn’t even bother to show any concern. What a heartless witch. She should pray I never get the chance to deal with her because she won’t like it. As for that night, the plan was to sleep like
