Chapter 58: A Visitor They Least Expected
Per Dr. Johnson's instructions, I positioned myself on the examination table situated beside a machine that I could only safely assume was used for getting an ultrasound. I looked out through the glass that separated the doctor's office from the room I was in and saw Dylan and Dr. Johnson having quite a serious conversation. Suddenly feeling nervous, I brought up my hands to feel my growing abdomen on my palms.
A few moments later, they finally entered the room and the doctor put his professional smile back on, most likely sensing my discomfort at the situation. The sun began to peek through the horizon, bathing the city in a golden early morning glow that reminded me of Dylan's eyes. I've never really taken a moment to simply admire the sunrise so I didn't realize until now how mesmerizing it was to witness the city slowly waking up as it went higher up in the sky. Dylan couldn't help but shake his leg in anxiety as he looked at the passing buildings through the tinted windows. His eyes feasted on the sight of the aftermath of even worse riots and rampages at the capital, but his mind wandered off to his mate."I should be over there," he mumbled to himself before biting his lower lip so hard that it bled.
