CHAPTER 32Alaric's POV"Did you come to finish me yourself, Alaric, or did you just bring a shovel?"I stopped dead at the threshold of the crumbling outpost, my hand resting heavily on the hilt of my sword. Odalys sat huddled on a wooden crate in the center of the ruined room. The polished, arrogant woman who had once stood proudly beside me was completely gone. Mina's POV"What is that light?" Marra shrieked, stumbling backward into the wooden shelves and sending a dozen glass jars crashing to the floor."Get back!" Alaric yelled, shielding his face with his forearm as the bright gold glow filled the entire room.I did not look up from Rhydian. The blinding heat poured straight from my palm into his open wound. The dark, poisonous veins underneath his skin instantly withered away, shrinking back and dissolving into nothing as the gold light washed over them.
