My Next Door Mate 2

CHAPTER TWO

He opens his door and surprisingly he sees a lady sitting on his front door. Hearing the sound of the door open, the lady had turned to look at him and with so much shock she hurriedly stood up, almost slipping off her feet, she wiped the sleep off her face.

"I.. I'm sorry" she immediately apologized, packing up her mopping stick and bucket away from his door. "I wasn't aware someone stayed here..I..I just wanted to take some rest, I'm sorry. Please don't report me." She begs again and he just stared at her, confused as she was.

He didn't have a problem with her resting here, he wondered why she was apologizing. He nods in agreement and she walks away hurriedly cleaning the other row of the hallway. He steps one of his legs outside his room and then the other, coming out finally. He sighs and then rubs his palm together.

He turns to close his door but then he hears his phone ring and immediately discarding his initial plan, he goes back inside and locks his door. He walked up to where his phone was sitting on the shelf on the wall and seeing 'MUM' as the caller, he rolled his eyes.

He stared at the phone ring and he took a moment to admire his beautiful face on the phone screen. He tries to curve his lips into a smile, but instead his lips split and his mouth widens, tearing his skin, with sharp long teeth emerging from inside the corners of his mouth, upwards and downwards. His ears' cartilages crack and like a triangle his ears become pointed, longer than the usual. His head shape snouts projecting and elongating anteriorly and his eyes color glow red, hair rapidly growing from the pores of his face and his hair sprouts out fully, but stiff and rough and anyone could see how hard the texture was.

His transformation was just his head and he didn't bother to grow nails or shift bones, that was just all he needed to pick up his mother's call. He slides the answer button and his mum appears on his screen with an approving smile seeing him in his wolf form.

"Just like the Alpha that you are. Just like I want it." Her tyranny has a deep tone depicting control and superiority.

He makes a loud howl and his mum gives a disapproving nod.

"If you've been doing that at the right time, maybe she would have found you instead." Her condescending voice sent him bitterness in his heart and he grunted harshly.

"Easy boy. I've got no words for you today. If I had, you'd be on your knees begging to be mated to a werecat."

The red glow in his eyes dim and he knew his mother could see his pain. He already figured out why she always wanted him in his wolf form. She enjoys his growls and howls and she didn't want him to talk back but just listen!

"Mother-" He was a True Alpha and could say anything even in his beast mode. His upper lips raise and his inner mouth widens as he calls her, his voice sounding more like a grunt and his words were not so clear to hear, it sounded like he had difficulty in talking in that form.

"Ssh. Ssh .Relax. Or maybe get some hot coffee down your throat." She gives a dry smile; with no warmth or excitement. "Like I said, I wouldn't waste my time talking sense to you. The Red Moon Pack Alpha just found his mate today. That little Alpha, yes the one you're older than. It's a celebration over here, I would be evil if I didn't check up on my son."

He moved his eyes from the screen and buried his head to avoid eye contact with his mum. He couldn't look into those strict and angry eyes anymore. As much as he always loved to ignore her calls, he dared not. He had no choice but to swallow the pain in her words.

"I see you're not ready to talk to me, so I'll join in the celebration and make a little wish too. Maybe someone will stop playing puzzles and solve the puzzles in his life."

She says.

He did not raise his head nor look at her. He just wanted her to hang up and stop talking. His mother took longer than expected, she took an extra minute just staring at him on the screen before she hung up. He looks at the phone and groans, his eyes glittering like crystals as tears settle at the lids.

He moves his legs slowly after each other walking to his bed, his back bends a bit as he sways and falls on the bed, he growls again and then buries his head into his pillow.

It's been three years. It was enough for his mother to complain.

"How the heck do you convince my mum every single time!" Sofia was awed at Lisa's get-away plan, it wasn't the first time she was giving excuses to Sofia's mum and Sofia was really amazed at her confidence.

"Maybe she just likes me" Lisa gives a sunny smile; bright and happy it was already D-Day. The elevator door opens and they all walk out to Lisa's hallway.

"I can't wait to see your house" Audrey squealed and they all laughed.

"Well, we just got there, Dai!" Gianna ran and jumped to the front door of Lisa's apartment with smiles.

"Uckn, let me do the grand entrance please?" Lisa says to Gianna shooing her away from the front door.

"Oh Basta Basta" Gianna holds her hands out to Lisa telling her enough-that's okay, in her usual Italian accent but without taking offense.

Just by the side of the door, Lisa inputs her door code then she turns over to her friends and gives a friendly smile; with openness and kindness. "Gianna, Audrey and Sofia...Welcome to my - humble, expensive home - Ta da!" She flings the door open and their eardrum bell rings at the sound from inside the house.

"Come inside!" Lisa shouts on top of her voice as she ushers her friends in. "Don't mind the loud music, it's my day!" She tries to talk over the noise.

"Your door is sound proof!" Taking notice of how quiet it was in the hallway, Sofia shouted too, using both her fingers to close her ears.

"I paid a fortune for that!" Lisa shouts back with a laugh.

"Son of a gun! This place is enthralling!" Audrey couldn't hide her astonishment. "Dang rabbit!"

"I told you guys. Jiminy Crickets!" Gianna admires the house again and starts moving to the beat of the song playing. "Lisa, you set it up already?" Gianna shouted over at Lisa who was already in the kitchen trying to get her friend's favorite juice.

"I could do it all by myself right?" Lisa answers sarcastically back. Her large room was already set and decorated for her 18th birthday party and the decorators she called for the job did it perfectly. Just as she wanted it. The space was enough for the invites she sent. At one corner was a PlayStation with a soft low couch for the boys if they wanted, another corner was a small bar with long chairs for sitting and taking shots. Her kitchen counter was set up with different appetizers too and her refrigerator was already full, the middle of the room was the dance floor and lights were already fixed to display utterly well.

"Let's head to my room girls" Lisa shouts again to the girls as they all walked to where she was, helping her with the extra glass she held and Lisa led the way. Just behind the kitchen was a small passage with a door at the end and opening it she welcomed her girls to her dashing flashy room with butterflies and glitters. The girls' eyes widened as they entered and closed the door, the room quiet like the hallway and beautiful artworks hanging on the walls.

"Woow!"

"Schnookerdookies!"

"How did you afford this!"

Lisa was very impressed at her friend's reaction, she hadn't seen them this surprised before and she was really expecting more reactions from her other school mates too when they arrived. She worked hard for this and her popularity status was at stake if anything was not right.

"We can do this later," she laughed as her friends took time to look around. "We need to get dressed, it's almost time." Taking the bag of clothes they had all gone shopping for, Lisa poured it on her bed as the girls picked one by one which was fit for the party.
