Chapter Forty-EightHe picked up his cutlery and continued eating with a frown on his face. Then I glared at him, he choked on his food for a second before sitting up straight, his face was painted on a light shade of red, he then gave me a questioning gaze.A gaze saying, 'What? I didn't do anything.'"Then, why are you deliberately showing your displeasure and pretending sadness? Your even frowning," I chided and simply continued to sip my tea.Kaiden gasped and looked at me like I broke his heart."Señorita, that's because it's unfair!" he pouted and aggressively bit his steak.Unfair? What is he talking about!?"It's very unfair, all of you would leave me behind. Everyone goes on vacation and I'm just here, waiting to rot and be roasted by Sir James and Mr. Fernando," he was sweeping and being dramatic again. But I couldn't help but giggle, it was actually funny."Señorita, you can laugh. There's no need to suppress your amusement,” he grumbled and sliced his steak. My lips curl
Chapter Forty-Nine.The green eyes thief, Zen, glared at me. He was about to open his mouth I grabbed my parasol and aimed it straight towards him."Don't say a word. I didn't permit you to talk," I coldly added, pressing the end of the parasol in his neck."Say a word, and I'll cut your neck." I threatened indifferently, and lifted his chin using the tip of my umbrella.Zen, gritted his teeth and chewed his lips. He didn't say a word and tightly held the child and glared at me.Everyone, was silent once again. Even the mother who was crying and begging, ate and swallowed her voice, whimpers, and tears.I dropped my parasol and immediately Rita took it and opened it for me.The whole scene and place turned into a graveyard and a cemetery. The unusual silence for a buzzing plaza and driveway. The silence was only broken when, my coachman and a doctor were running towards our direction."Milady, the doctor you instructed is here," the man informed with heavy breath from running.I looke
Chapter Fifty."Are you not satisfied with the food milady?" asked Rita in a worried tone and concern.I shook my head and smiled. "It's not like that Rita, you don't need to worry about it. I'm just a bit tired," I explained in a gentle tone. But the truth is, I'm starting to feel the food is pretty bland and repetitive. They always serve the same theme, steak, lamb, bread, and wine. The cook I had now was not very impressive. The cook always provided the same food. They don't have fish or pork! Not even a chicken! I'm used to eating lambs and beef, especially bread in every single meal! They don't have rice here, or I mean they don't serve rice in here! They don't even serve water that much when eating, always tea, wine, or champagne. As a 21st century girl, I long for many dishes. I miss the Filipino cuisines and the fast foods! Now, I'm being ungrateful and picky here. I could help but sigh on how this lifestyle made me realize how much I used to care, and how different my lifesty
Morning has finally arrived. I am now standing outside looking busy at the Manor. I saw a lot of maids working and running around.I can also see Rita checking everything from the suit cases, utensils, foods, and essentials. As far as I know, we would be traveling and would camp in the mountain for 3 days, until we get on the nearest village for a stop and rest. We will then continue until we reach the House Edwards' territory.I'm pretty excited to see what's on the southeast region of Avalor Kingdom. I'm pretty curious about Lady Marina's hometown.I slowly walked through the carriage with a strange expression. I blankly stared at the piece of object in front of, I just looked stupid while standing in front of the carriage that would take me.That's not a freaking carriage! That's a mini van!!!I screamed in my heart. The carriage design looks like between a carriage and a car! It has freaking six big wheels! Its design seems to be the one I see in videos about the minimalist van ho
Chapter Fifty-Two.A vortex of shadow and darkness formed on the ground under my two hands. It suddenly spread on and rose from the depths. A dome made of darkness and shadow was formed, shielding everyone inside. It was a large area of effect shield that I have learned and practiced. I just twisted some of the incantation spell to fully bring the element darkness.Everyone was shocked and was stunned when they were covered in darkness and shadow. And it's because my control wasn't that precise, the shield isn't tempered. You can see from the inside what was happening outside the dome, it was somewhat transparent and not tinted. All of them saw hundreds of arrows that were either stuck on the dome, or bounced out and fell from the impact.Their mouth was hanging open and gulped a mouthful of saliva before looking at my direction."Tsk."I heard a click of tongue coming from the Bandit leader.I glared at him and looked around the dome. When I still saw them looking at in astonishmen
Chapter Fifty-Three.The weather in the second half of the Month of Fire (July) was already very hot. Beads of sweat continued to drip down Zen's face as he watched each side of the coach. Not to mention Vice Captain and the knight troupes, whose shirt was soaked inside the armor.Vice Captain Illiad, walking ahead of the coach, had already driven away several beasts rushing down from the mountains. We didn't encounter any bandits on the way, only some creatures. This is clearly his responsibility as a guard, but the fact that he beat off the vicious beasts without startling the horses definitely impressed me.Inside of the coach, since I kept my eyes closed all the time, and Rita was not talkative at all, so as Droon who had no one to talk to during the trip went very quite. I'm not that nervous nor scared after what happened. Surprisingly, I'm very calm and am analyzing the bandits intention. I was even more surprised at myself, that I wasn't shaking after that fight.I asked Droon
Chapter Fifty-Four. I stared at the kid in front of me, who was looking at me with doe eyes. Only then did I notice that he was no longer wearing his silver armor, instead he was wearing his ordinary knight uniform. I cannot see any bruises nor bandages around him. That only means he was skilled enough to avoid or kill his enemies. I'm also relieved seeing him unharmed, for pete's sake that's twelve-year old kid! My conscience won't be able to take it. I might feel a little bit guilty for Zen because of the unexpected ambush by the bandits, but he's an adult. He can do it himself, he's not a kid anymore. And I have deep affection on this character. Aside from Lord Ethan and Gina who was the main character, this is the third person I knew who was part of the novel. It made me slightly relax and breathe a sigh of relief. Staying in this world almost made me lost in time and comfort. I even caught myself doubting if I was really in the book. I almost got scared because of the unknow
Chapter Fifty-Five. "Do you understand, Sir?" I said in a sweet tone, with a smile on my lips. Gulf. You could hear a mouthful of saliva being swallowed. "Now, shall we talk?" I said, as I lowered the dagger and smiled. The dwarf still kept his glare on me but didn't refuse. The other prisoners are silent, bowed and look away. Some of them were sweating at an abnormal rate. As if they where afraid to meet with my beautiful red-violet eyes. I was about to speak when I felt an intense stare coming from behind me. It was so intense that I could almost feel a hot laser like it was going to pierce my back. It gives the chills even though it should be hot. Now all of us are sweating in cold feet. Dang. I forgot about Zen. I looked at the dagger I was holding. It was very shiny, while the handle was made out of obsidian rock. Darker than black. The metal could almost reflect my pretty face if not for the dark expression on the other side. Gulped. 'Someone is mad... I will sleep
