Chapter Thirty Three: The Concert date

On the trip, Gaby won’t talk. She’s just silent. Clark looks at her occasionally.

“Hey, you’re silent,” said Clark. “Don’t tell me you’re just being obliged to come.”

“It’s not like that. It’s just I don’t know what to say.” Gaby said. It’s as though we are so far away from the university. ”

“We’re way away from SU,” Clark said, smiling.

“Where are we going?” said Gaby.

“Somewhere you can enjoy!” said Clark.

“Why don’t you say where? You know, you are making me nervous,” Gaby says.

Clark wasn’t saying anything. Instead, he took Gaby’s hand, which surprised Gaby, pressed her hand, and held it again. Even if he changes gears, he never drops Gaby’s hand.

“Why are we holding hands?” asked Gaby.

“Perhaps you’ll suddenly disappear,” said Clark.

Gaby suddenly laughed at what Clark said. “Where am I off to?”

“To Dylan.” Clark meant it in earnest.

The smile disappeared from Gaby’s lips, her forehead furrowed. “What do you mean?” Gaby asked
