"Hey, I'm not giving up on him," Clary said, quickly wiping the tears from her eyes and pulling a determined expression onto her face. "If Damon thinks he ca... what?" she asked when her brother eyes went wide.

"Damon? Damon is your mate?" David asked, staring at his sister, he didn't miss the tightening of Clary hands around her stomach or the surprised expression on his face and the faces of his siblings.

"Yes, wait, do you know him?" Clary asked, gripping Davids's hand tightly and glancing at her sister and brother-in-law, seeing her surprised, mystified expressions mirrored on their faces.

"Not personally," David said, his mind racing. "I have met him a few times though, I spent the last three years in Australia. I was... dating the werewolf leader for a little while. Damon was there reforming the station in state, I went along to several meetings when they were coming to an agreement" he said.
